    You are the very best out of many generator review pros and are actually relatable. You apply real world examples and do not just try to impress professionals (who already own generators) with how many numbers you can spout out. Thank you for teaching. Regarding pass-through charging: You mentioned that charging using the 30A cable (3200W) disables the inverter, so there is no pass-through using the 30A cable. You also showed that when charging using the 15A cable (1800W) that pass-through charging does work. However, do you know if you can run a 30A load (3600W output) while charging at 15A (1800W input)? Pecron told me that this works, but after seeing this well done video I am not sure they understood my question.

    A note about charging the EP3000 expansion battery. It does not come with a charger. BUT! I have their little LFP600 station, and the charging brick from that *does* marry up with the EP3000. @@johnnysweekends Oh it sure did! They're awesome with the extras. I have to make sure to leave the Owner's Manual inside to keep track of which pack goes with which component heh. None of the Aviation-style connectors were good for wall charging, however. I got 4: solar, Anderson, barrel connector, and 12V. My 1500LFP that the battery is married to doesn't use a charging brick. BUT the LFP600 does. I haven't looked but I assume one could purchase the charging brick separately, and it conveniently matches the 400W max Input. Depending on its price though, your viewers may want to look at just buying the LFP600. This wouldn't have been an issue except my LFP1500 was already fully charged when the extra battery arrived a few days later. I needed to fully charge the battery too, the instructions want both components to be as close as possible.

    I hope this works out well . Big safety concern though 9:35 mark . I have been researching various portable power stations and they are to much money vs total WH . I see this unit here does not even reach claimed capacity . Finally this unit is far better for your $ vs total WH capacity . No matter the product how warranty claims are handled says the most about a company . To many companies do everything they can to avoid valid warranty claims or dare to charge you to ship the item back during a valid warranty claim .
    Prices overall for most of these stations are really high and make it far better to learn how to build your own . Example : you can purchase a total of 4800WH of quality batteries for $1000 , just add a box with wheels , inverter and charge controller . All for around $1600

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  4 місяці тому +2

      No units reach claimed capacity as there are conversion losses. But this one did just as well as higher name brand units.
      Now true building your own will always be cheaper, well maybe not always as it’s getting pretty cheap with some of these. But some people dont know how to DIY one or even want to as they may not have the time or desire. That’s where options come in. Just like anything in life. Some people wanna buy and go as time may be more precious to them and have money to compensate. All depends what people want.
      But even your DIY setup wont be as easy as this grab and go unit or others like it. So again it does have benefits included in the higher pricing.
      DIY still is cheaper and will get more for you money and servicing is easy if some part fails. But again all depends what “you” want.

    One big note that’s worth calling out - E3600LFP supports a lower maximum charge point for AC, effectively allowing it to operate as a solar system with grid backup in the event that solar power dips over a couple overcast days. Ecoflow has a similar feature that I use on my Delta 2 and IMO all power stations should have this.
    Good callout on the 30 amp AC input disabling AC output - like Ecoflow DP3, seems the high power AC input is emergency use only. What is the maximum AC output when the unit is charging with AC - can it exceed 1800W?

    Great review. This is the first unit to ever check all my boxes. Had this come out before I ordered my EG4 inverter and battery I would be buying this unit. In the meantime I have been very satisfied with my first generation Ecoflows and their customer service. I did not know about turning off the inverter in the RV when hooking up a power station, great tip. I normally like to hook up my 2 Ecoflow delta max 2000 to my 30 amp plug on my RV to discharge it by running my 13,500 a/c. I do this about every 3 or 4 months to maintain them at optimum health . One question on the 12V 30 amp port the plug is an XT60EF , is this plug compatible with other XT60 plugs and the XT60I? Thanks for sharing your information.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  5 місяців тому +2

      You know shoot I forgot to mention that and I’m sorry. The xt60ef won’t except the xt60 normal connector.
      I was using there plugs but later when the video was complete I was trying something and noticed the normal xt60 jumper I had didn’t work.
      So the DC 12v-30amp out will need a xt60ef if wanting to use it for other items.
      The solar inputs are normal xt60 and can use xt60i as well as the tab will just be off to the side.
      Sorry I didn’t mention it

    I got four batteries and a 3600 I need to find out how to make this a place where I can charge my house. What are the ideal solar panels to pair with this how many. Do I have to worry about the 150 volt max only or do I have to worry about amps as well or current.

    I have been thinking about ecoflow 3600, ultra or 3 but i'm in Norway so those last two haven't arrived yet here, but i bet the price would be insane for just buying these.
    If they keep the price this low in europe as well i would seriously be thinking about too buy this one with full capacity. 15kwh are insane.
    You could charge the solar panels on the day, i wish you could charge time you could set up for ac if the prices for electricity are low you could charge that, but if it's expensive you could turn it off and charge it with solar panels instead, but i bet the next generation would have that, but just having simply a huge backup are gold today specially when we are seeing so much trouble the world having today.
    But simply instead of charging if it's about 80 cents it's normal these days you could also charge it when the prices are at 40 cents, and then use it when the prices are high.
    Could easily made the bills half just doing that.

So then only after I posted a negative review on Amazon did they beg me to take the negative review down. They sent me a replacement unit that did the same thing. So now I have two EP 300s with 600 watt inverters that can only output 200 watts.

    I have a question that none of the reviewers talk about.
    Does the E3600 and the expansion battery(ies) discharge and recharge at the same time, and at the same rate.
    I emailed Pecron, but they have not answered back as of yet. Pecron doesn't seem to have a phone number to call.
    Thank you

      So far it seems to drain both at same time and fill at same time.
      I don’t know if they will add a setting to have a priority setting for the main unit.
      ECOFLOW just started this

      Thats great yo hear! Thank you for the reply.
      Always better if the do discharge and recharge at the same time and same rate. It injured that you don't waste a cycle on either the head unit or expansion battery. I just ordered the E3600 LFP with two expansion batteries.

    I have this unit on order and have a question regarding the solar charging ports. Solar panels are Renogy 220W portable suitcase rated at 23.3V VOC, 20V optimum operating Voltage, optimum operating current 11A. If I’m understanding this correctly, it’s too much for the 12-30V port, but too light for the 32-150V port. Which port would I use?

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  4 місяці тому

      No you would be right in the ball park of the voltage at 20v
      The low input is 12-30v so should be just fine.

    • @rickhann9307
      @rickhann9307 4 місяці тому +1

      The 220W panels would not be issue with the 150W max. restriction?

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  4 місяці тому

      Nope that’s just over paneling. As long as you stay under the voltage limit by a few volts for temp variations

      Thank you sir for your prompt replies. I’m (obviously) a newbie at this solar stuff and really appreciate your ability and willingness to share your knowledge. My decision to go with the 3600 was based in large part on your (and other) reviews. Thanks again.

      @rickhann9307 So far it seems to be a good unit from others I have been talking with. Im still using mine as a power dump or a unit for testing other items. Still doing fine!

    Some units come with an empty hole at the bottom of the outlet simply so the third could fit when you plug it in - it’s the ground…
    Are the holes on this empty or is it an actual ground ? Also, would that even matter if it’s empty vs a real socket at my house ?

    The E1500LFP which has 16 of the 3.2 volt LFP batteries and produces 1536 w/hrs is only $599 right now. The E3600LF: has 32 of the 3.2 volt LFP batteries and produces exactly double the w/hrs (3072) If you purchased 2 1500's for $1200 you'd get the same capacity and 2 inverters/charge controllers/bms, etc. But the 3600 cost is $1599?!@#$ I'd buy the 2 1500's and have more versatility myself. And it may be possible to connect them to produce 240 volt split phase (but I'm not sure of that). Just sayin'.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  4 місяці тому

      The E15000 is also older so it would be cheaper. But also depends if you want to move two units or just have one. Options..👍🏼

  • @timcat1004
    @timcat1004 5 місяців тому

    Don't want it. Most >500 watt panels are near 50 volts now. The 150 volt input limits me to do only 2 in series with my 545 watt panels. If I go even with a 2S2P It limits my input voltage to 100 max and reduces the solar charging wattage. Same problem with Ecoflow Delta Pro that I'm dealing with.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  5 місяців тому

      But you are the exception. A majority of people are using 200-400 watt panels. If you are doing a larger system then why even buy this. Should be looking into other options.

    An EG4 6000xp with a 280 a/h wall unit costs only $4900 and has 14.7 kw/h and 6000 watt capacity and produces 240 split phase as well as 120 volt. Just sayin. Pecron isn't all that afterall.

      @johnnysweekends  4 місяці тому +2

      The Eg4 6000xp is a great unit along with the wall battery, but you are comparing a stationary unit with a portable. Hard to take a eg4 and that wall battery to a build site, camping and more. Not apples to apples at all. Good stuff, just way different.
