When leveling up I am using a masterpiece 50 percent resource statue, before I clear my map each day I powder it up for 100 percent bonus, that's all you need, but you could also use 20 percent guardian resource statue and powder it to 40, that's what i was using until i got to base level 65, then i got rid of the 20 percent statue for a 37 percent blue dmg statue which gives me so many diamonds, because I keep it powdered up. I.m.o. you should upgrade your gold, wood, stone, mill, residences, storage because it helps you with extra builder getting two boom canons up at the same time, especially at higher levels and the biweekly map buffs you can pump extra resources into.
I have level 11 warriors with smoke, killing it with that combo (I'm level 35). My tanks are level 3 only, should I use my loot to upgrade my tanks? Or since I have warriors there's no point to wasting my gold on tanks?
That is something I find boring because you aren’t progressing as quickly and missing out on now troops, new ability’s, new hero’s and more daily events, but what ever you enjoy doing Is what you should do.

I have always aimed to put many GBE statues, do you think that at a high level I can continue to use only 1 TH masterpiece and 1 TD masterpiece?
If you want to use Smokey Zookas for operations, you need a lot of GBE and TH is practically useless.
Yeah for operations, TH is pretty much useless. I think the optimal statue load is 3 TD, 1 TH, 6 GBE
