  • Forward Neck Posture, is a Pain in the Neck.
    Also termed "Tech Neck" is an issue created by our craning of the neck, while sitting at a desk or standing with our eyes glued to a smartphone.
    This posture has carried over to our walking, with most people now craning their neck forward to balance their center of gravity, while Heel striking.
    I believe you can fix this issue, with better proprioception and a change in your gait posture.
    This will carry over to improving your sitting posture and fixing your neck issues.

    I've really loved all your videos, I've been bingeing! They're so informative and you speak so eloquently. I'm 42 and learning to walk thanks to you 😆
    I've suffer with a forward head position and poor posture. I learned recently that the fascia runs a connective line from the tongue down to the toes and that a tongue tie can cause many issues, so recently I had my tongue tie released (by laser) and it's made a huge improvement with my posture, head position, tongue position and my breathing. My tongue tie release was assisted with tongue exercises, chiropractic care, and fascia release by an osteopath before and after the procedure - a tongue tie release on it's own probably wouldn't have the same results.
    Anyway, thank you so much for the amazing content you provide so professionally. Much appreciation from Australia 😁

I love how it has made me feel so far and I'm excited to be able to get these motions into habit. Thank you so much for such amazing and well put together videos. I truly believe some version of a barefoot shoe should be used by every human being lmao Also got the toe dividers combo ! cant wait for that to get here

    I'm just learning about fhp...I believe it's the root cause of my neck aches and dizziness...I drive for a living...up until recently 80 and 90 hours a week...posture was not a thing that even remotely popped in my head as being a cause for dizziness or triggering my miagraines...my thoughts went to much darker places. I appreciate and thank you for your videos.

    What are your thoughts on barefoot shoes in regards to scoliosis and true leg length discrepancy? I currently have an external lift on my left shoe of 14mm. I have battled over the years with my specialists saying how wearing my thin converse with no insoles added is much better for my low back pain then padded athletic shoes. Again any thoughts of wearing converse? Thx!!

    • @GrownandHealthy
      @GrownandHealthy  Рік тому

      Converse has the benefit of being zero drop, but it is not foot shaped or flexible.
      Have you tried Side Planks and Copenhagen Planks?
      I recall seeing a study stating the benefits of these exercises for Scoliosis.

    Hey Mark, there must be a happy medium somewhere than with the shoulder issue because the number one thing that First improved my mobility and decreased pain was me adjusting my shoulders stretching them and maybe pulling them back you’re right however I think I went too far and probably was trying to straighten my back too much and probably overloaded my SI joint so there’s got to be a happy medium on the shoulders that they must just slouch a little bit causing fascia or something to put tension and cause pain. It was like a light switch for me may be a good topic for more in-depth videos. it’s been taking me about a year to study your videos and I am still trying to work on it. Thanks for all your homework you’re looks like an incredible amount of work to put one of these videos together doing

    • @GrownandHealthy
      @GrownandHealthy  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for watching.
      I believe there is a happy medium, a fully relaxed Torso that gives respect to the curves of the Back/neck (Lumbar, Thoracic, Cervical and Sacral) they should never ber "straightened".
      But the TVA and Obliques must be toned and developed to support the structure.
      I focused on the neck, but in the upcoming videos I will cover the rest.
      This doesn't mean that we shouldn't stretch, but we should do this in terms of developing the range of motion (end range of both parameters) of flexion and extension.

    I walk 5 to 6 miles everyday at around the 15:30min mile pace and there is absolutely no way I could walk in shoes with thin soles, let alone barefoot shoes. Most pavements here in the UK are in a terrible state with small stones and gravel everywhere. I know that you mean well but this just isn't practical advice to me or probably a lot of others.
