Reliability of Rotten Tomatoes Scores, Tom Cruise Looks Really Different, John Cusack Confrontation

- Adam opens today’s show talking about how wokeness is screwing up the reliability of Rotten Tomatoes scores. Film critic Christian Toto then calls in to discuss what happened to the user reviews for the new documentary on Fauci. Adam then follows up on the trend of NFL defenses celebrating a little too much, and the guys go into criticisms of Dave Chapelle’s new standup special. Before the break, producer Chris enters the studio with Trending Topics that range from Tom Cruise’s appearance at the Dodgers-Giants playoff game, to John Cusack’s fan confrontation, to ‘Fake Guy Fieri’ sightings, to this past weekend’s Fury vs. Wilder matchup.
Rotten tomatoes proves that critics are bought and paid.
The. Entire. Media.
IMDB is completely woke, they report on who has been a life long liberal and nothing on conservatives, as if anyone cares.
@@tims6540 Agreed. Covid is training wheels for Climate Lockdowns.
Few things I hate more than hearing the tagline 'Critics are raving about...'
Americans are fed up with woke
We The People are really getting fed up. Keep the faith! Divided we fall!
Damn skippy!
Woke = shit
Haven't used Rotten Tomatoes sense the Captain Marvel movie.
They took Disney money to remove the negative scores by the Fans.
Done with them after that.
I used to watch movies a lot, and some times read reviews. Then I realized I like what others do not like so why would I read what someone has to say? Why not just watch it myself and like it or not like it. Movie reviewing is so dumb to me. One of the most useless "jobs" you can have. If people are serious about climate change. Why not send these movie reviewers off into space and save the planet.
@@TheGhost2612000 Cultural criticism is only as useful as it is honest.
@dragonsder
It was more that they removed the Fan reviews than the critics being bought and payed for.
Critics are the problem
They don't review based on the quality of the movie they rate based on how Woke it is.
The brainwashing is the problem. You can't take a film class anymore without 3/4 of it being intersectionality
Bald sees no issue with the critics
@@el_oh_ell He knows where his butter's breaded.
RT isn't a good metric because it's far easier to be a certified critic on there. Metacritic has higher requirements for that and isn't purely judged based on a "good and bad" scale. So, yeah, it depends on a critic. The average critic generally knows far more about the craftsmanship of filmmaking more than the average audience member.
@@SallyMankus130
Haven't used RT sense the Captain Marvel incident.
Bryan and Gina find the current rotten tomatoes system very helpful.
Hilarious seeing Bald attempt to defend RT and then crying about the politicization of entertainment.
Yep, that’s your people doing all of that shit, Bald.
Oh I’m pretty sure bald and his people think it’s someone else doing it hilariously enough they’ve been fucking this place up since I was in highschool
Also I think he did that to not get yelled at by Adam for “ shitting on his point”
No Shit. Bald Bryan is the reason I stopped listening to Adam's podcast.
The problem is all the critics. They rate with their ideology.
There's not professionalism in the media anymore.
It's like if you write a job reference letter for someone, only a jerk would base it on their politics, looks, or whether you'd party with them, it's about their qualifications. But everyone in the media is just shameless.
No. Most of them don't even watch the woke crap they rate. They're paid to give fake reviews.
Reading the comments gives me hope in America’s future … I’m not alone ❤️🇺🇸
A documentary about a lifelong government bureaucrat barely deserves a 3% rating
Lol Bryan sees no issues with the critics
I wake up every day hoping it will be the day adam freaked out and beats Bryan to a bloody mess
@CensorsRtheRealFascists we can all hope
You can tell by looking at him. There's a certain look these guys have and it's usually little feminine guys.
Get Drew a thin foam placement from the dollar store
Bryan is such an ideolog- Brian, 5:30 "We have seen a LONG history, RECENTLY of review bombing" That makes no sense.
Adam shows some RT movie ratings...
Fauci - Critics 93% - Audience 2%.
Uppity - Critics- - Audience 97 %
Dave Chappelle: The closer - Critics 33% - Audience 96%.
Woke Bryan - 6:20 - "I don't think the problem is with the critics view per se" It's as if he has never played the Rotton Tomatoes game with Adam.
I like Adam saying woke critics are ruining film reviews and Bryan and Gina are confused with the concept.
They play dumb when their bias is undeniably exposed.
They're not confused, they don't wanna be labeled racist.
AC's sidekick needs to do some homework...the term review bombing is something that Disney made popular when fans didn't like the garbage star wars movies, ghost busters 2016 and captain marvel among others...plenty of videos on youtube (100 or more) following the manipulation of audience scores and critic reviews for CM. Also youtubers exposed the connection between Disney and I believe an ex Disney exec that now has a high position at Fandango.
EVERYTHING WOKE TURNS TO SHIT!!!
best way to avoid that NFL showboating: STOP WATCHING THE NFL
I stopped watching to avoid commercials. You know, 60% of whats on screen when you watch football.
Dude, the critics have been over scoring woke movies for years and years. Intellectual? That's a lie that has been perpetuated...
How long ago did Crash win the best picture Oscar? That was was the point of no return a full decade before being woke was even a thing. Critics have always given deference to the things they thought they were supposed to like, not what was the most enjoyable.
Critics are in the in-crowd of hollywoodites. The people aren’t.
The media and big tech are working 110% 24/7 to make it seem the public thinks one way about things, so it's always great to see we the people show what we really think, be it with our virtual thumbs, comments/reviews, etc. It really helps to see once in awhile, and gives hope that we can turn this all around if we work together, standing united.
@@yittmashups I totally agree. The effect of this cannot be understated
The same people run both news agencies. The ' allowable opinion boundaries ' are created.. and demonizing any group becomes simple
Shoot them all. Problem solved.
The type of people that watch documentaries and the type of people that love Fauci have no overlap.
I'm happy that Norm's spirit lives in Tom Cruise.
Norm's Spirit could never live inside a Scientologist.
Thaaaaaaat's what he looks like. Very jarring
Adam ahead of the internet curve on this fauci documentary
I've noticed the critic thing for a while, Adam is correct on much of this.
And the Hollywood "expert" Brian feigns cluelessness.
They are talking about how audience reviewers who haven't seen the film will review bomb a film based on the subject of the film, and how that's a problem.
It is a problem, but the entire reason that began happening is because so much of entertainment became political propaganda pieces, and a huge portion of the public is tired of it.
Audience review bombing was also a response to movie critics judging entertainment based on the political ideology of that entertainment, rather than the quality of the entertainment itself.
So yes, it's a problem, but I think it's the smallest of the three problems.
Woke propaganda entertainment pieces is a much larger problem, and woke professional propagandist critics is a much larger problem.
I don't remember audience review bombing things like this before those first two problems appeared.
Review bombing goes both ways. People who have never seen a movie five or a 10/10 because it “makes racists cry”. Review bombing is not an issue because the numbers who do it won’t make a significant difference in a real review cycle.
@@scottcantdance804 Adam was also talking about the critics
Movie reviews are like Fact checkers. Worthless.
Bryan acting shocked that Rotten tomatoes is biased.
I think I heard somewhere that the original title of Adams book was slated to be “In Fifty Years we’ll all be Brian’s” but “Chicks” replaced “Brian” for a little more manly vibe.
I've had an eyebrow raised at everything coming from any government or news agency since I was running around Afghanistan looking for a deserter that the government and media were desperately trying to paint as a POW. Get involved in something newsworthy and compare your experience to what is reported. You'll check behind anything anyone ever claims again.
Thanks for your service. I worked in gov for 30 years. I don't trust much from them. Spin to protect politcians and bureaucrats was a constant concern with them. Screw the citizens.
Welcome home!
No, the critics are definitely politically scewed.
Yup, just look at Captain Marvel, The Last Jedi, or Hillbilly Elegy for more proof.
It is way way way beyond being "skewed". It is CLEARLY unobjective leftist/woke/"progressive" censorship of anything they disagree with, and their desire to push their leftist false narratives.... "Skewed" implies that there is some valid doubt.
@@aquafer5435 Don't you have a bias? Sure seems like it.
@@nikosvault seems to me he's spitting irrefutable facts.
You'd have to be a complete blind snowflake to not see the political censorship and garbage woke pandering by these activists that call themselves "critics"
Bryan: We’ve seen a LONG history…. recently… of review bombs
He's a shill.
At this point, the term 'review bombing' means about as much as the term 'hate speech'. Neither can ever be verified and are only meant to be conversation enders.
I thought the same thing
The critics aren’t the problem? What? Of course they are.
I've used Rotten Tomatoes quite reliably for awhile. Look for a huge disparity between the "Critics" and the "Public" scores; the larger the discrepancy, the better the gauge. If the critic score is high and the public score low, the movie is crap, and if the critic score is low, but the public score is high, the movie is probably good.
The blurb talks about Fauci's "public service". Like Jimmy Savile's public service?
For example:
Chappelle’s “Closer” got a 0.00 by critics
Chappelle’s “Closer” got a 96.0 by viewers
In my nearly 60 year old mind (such as it is), I now trust critics just about as much as journalists (unfortunately, on both sides of the political isle) and a bit more than politicians. I see less and less integrity and honesty everywhere I look these days and I'm not sure if it's the world becoming morally bankrupt or I'm just slowly aging into the "I don't give a fuck" camp. Is it strange that I find the situation both amusing and depressing?
It's probably you don't give a fu$% camp😆
@D C Manuel...Aging is not the issue. I'm decades younger and see the same.
1969 Gen X here. Learned not to trust way back when the TV lied to my parents that the Dungeons and Dragons I played was turning me into devil worshipper and Judas Priest and Ozzy were going to make me kill myself. "Read my lips no new taxes....I did not have sexual relations with that woman" on and on.
We had racism on the ropes. We laughed at racist jokes but regarded racist people as fools stuck in the horrible past we were lucky to be born after. In the 90's if you were against racism it just meant you were a regular person.
Anthrax and Public Enemy on stage collab is all the proof I needed.
Too much togetherness isn't good for the ones sticking it to us so Division became the game once again.
Don't let the tablet, TV, or phone make you hate your neighbor.
Not sure , but RT is owned either by Sony or a cartel of movie producers.
The guy on the show with you is part of the problem. Thinks the critics are fine. Ridiculous. Yes blame the people.
I really think Ben Shapiro ruined everything for everyone lol. Most of my life I've watched movies, and I just never realized Hollywood were intentionally using themes and pushing the culture in a specific direction, intentionally. However, once somebody pointed it out to me, I felt gross. It felt like I was being manipulated. I just don't like watching movies from Hollywood anymore, because I know what they're doing now. That's not to say there aren't good movies. It's just that now that I'm aware of the fact that Hollywood are trying to push specific themes for the sake of "changing culture", it actually annoys me and I don't want to participate. It comes off like propaganda.
Check out Jay Dyer. He likes to review movies based on that idea.
Great point - very well said. The one thing I would add is that it doesn't just "come off" as propaganda, it IS propaganda. Sometimes it's hard to sniff out, but most of the time it's very obvious. Frozen is a great example - liberal progressive propaganda, pure and simple.
Watch the movie Old Henry. New movie and no political motive. Just a man's man western.
@@kmb957 I'll check it out - thanks! 😎
Predictable formula.
Thank you guy's..for a pleasant conversation...
Bryan needs to go. He talks way too fast, stutters, and his questions make no sense. His comments make the show stop to a screeching halt. It is so bad that Adam has to change the subject.
You can’t be a Yankees and a Mets fan at the same time
We went through all this with Ghostbusters 2016. Rotten Tomatoes is not the place to go.
Didn't Ghostbusters 2016 make like 250 million? That wasn't from woke reviews. Look at the last duel. Great reviews and no box office. Stop making stuff up.
@@trumpsflushingdocumentsaga2689 It lost over $70 million. Who's making shit up.

"a long history recently" , Jesus .
Drew's frantic scribbling is definitely repressed sexual frustration according to proximity with Adam
Wrong.... Adam and Drew have long been sexually satisfying each other.
Rotten Tomatoes 🍅 ‘woked’ themselves into irrelevance!
Meanwhile Dave chappells comedy outside of the trans stuff is just copy pasted straight from lefty memes. He isn’t that funny, he’s just smart enough to know guys aren’t girls
Adam's podcast has provided us with the Ethel Merman material we've been so hungry for.
39:20 Is it Tom Cruise, or Jamie from Small Wonder?
LOL Dave got a 33% from critics... Lol

Hmmm... which is most skewed?
Review bombing are prevalent with the woke squad both positive and negative. Remember how they lobbied against Zolander 2. It still has a terrible score on imdb and you can tell many reviewers haven't seen it.
Just look at their behavior on Twatter.
Are you kidding me? The right review bombs as much as the left.
Adam channeling Gilbert Gottfried at 27:02.
Viva Frei has said that "Politics Ruins Everything" He said that a while ago.
Two things:
1) To verify that someone's actually seen a movie, you'd have to verify their identity which would open them up to being doxxed and cancelled over their movie tastes. (Hope you liked Ghostbusters 2016)
2) RT is owned by Fandango. They are (or were) in the business of selling movie tickets. A movies opening weekend usually determines how successful it's gonna be. You don't sell a lot of tickets to movies that audiences don't like, and as a consequence those movies aren't as successful. Both RT and the studios know this, so they scratch each other's backs. It's a symbiotic relationship. They tweak their rules and hold back audience scores to give the illusion that a movie has mass appeal. That way both RT (Fandango) and the studios make money.
8:56 They hit the nail on the head
The way it works is the local distributor gets all of the ticket sales info from the theaters in their territory and then report the aggregate numbers up the chain
Regarding Rotten Tomatoes, just get rid of the critic tomato meter, leaving just the audience score. People might be less inclined to review bomb if that score stands alone.
35:06 is the saddest thing. The host and reason for this show’s existence expected an employee at that table to actually engage with him, but they had to leave him high and dry because they didn’t want to touch the topic. Gina’s meek “yeah” was pathetic.
This is simple. Get rid of Rotten Tomatoes.
That was a ridiculous penalty. But the stupid celebration should of been flagged...lol, for stupidity.
Is that Jeremy Piven with John Cusack?
A true Cubs fan wouldn't be caught dead in a Sox jersey and vice versa.
Most critic reviews have the word “representation” in their reviews. Which means their focus is not about the story or production value or acting or anything a critic should be paying attention to.

Rotten Tomatoes is not a real place.
That propaganda documentary was at 2% from the audience and when they got embarrassed, they removed any audience reviews to try and save face.
You can rate the movies on the streaming service itself, they have the data whether you watched it or not so you can make a rating system strait from that data

Rotten Tomatoes is like a Fake News website. They review stuff that is obvious dog crap to anyone with half a brain and even a modicum of taste, then tell you it's caviar.
On Dave Rubins show it showed 2% over 500 reviews I believe before they made it disappear.

Rotten Tomatoes should just drop the critics. No one really gives a rat's ass what they say anyway.

I love Gina's laugh.
Adam went hard into the paint on Drew’s wife lol.
I excuse my homophobia n transphobia by saying...have u seen some of them. They look scary. Hence the phobia.
I use Rotten tomatoes for the audience score. Critic scores are completely political. Black female lead? Def getting a high score. Largely minority cast? High score. Amazing movie starring mostly white men? Def taking a huge hit
Delay customer views, it gives the critics an unfair start to show higher positive views.

Oh yeah...it's the audience that's the problem...lol
If it was review bombed via politics it should be 50/50 or 60/40 because both sides would have done it... Maybe it just sucks if it's 3%?
Great take. Is it 5 years ago?

Many of us have expressed frustration with Adam's show not seeing the Rotton Tomato' Leftist bent. Just another example. And yet the continue to used it for their game segment.
They’ve been messing with this stuff since captain marvel was released
