  • I bought this Epson used for around EUR 400,- It was working fine. I just watched only couple of movies, maybe around 6 hours total. Lamp counter was at 1460 hours. During a movie it total shuts off without any warning before. When I want to started up after a while.. the fans are running but no light. After about 40 seconds... the fans are running at full speed, the power led goes off and the small blue led and the lamp led are blinking. This indication means an Internal Error.
Can anyone help me or give me some advice? How can this happen so suddenly? I already called an Epson repair centre and the told me its most 9 of 10 times error in the mainboard and has to replaced, but this costs me an extra EUR 300,-

Thanks for your comment! So you mean the lamp counter was reset by the seller before? But the lamp can not be that old cause the lamp was still clear and bright. the projector suddenly shut down completely without any warning before. When the lamp is not good you will see only the lamp led blinking and the power led should be on if we must believe the manual. Or do I miss your point? I'm waiting for a new lamp to test it, but im not sure about it.

Update: I tested it with the new lamp but no result!
I measured the power supply and the lampballast. The power supply gives power to the motherboard and power to the lampballast. On the circuitboard of the lampballast it says right besides the input connector: 94V, but the powersupply gives 388V to the lampballast, thats what I measured. Conclusion: the powercontroller on the motherboard is damaged, the voltage is raised up and also damaged the lampballast?
