A new laptop is coming out soon in my country. ASUS VivoBook S M5606WA-MX014W 16" OLED Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 32GB RAM 1TB SSD Windows 11 Home The store says that shipping starts on 30.07. I am considering this one or the MACBOOK Pro 16 M2 1TB. The Asus costs 7000 PLN (approximately $1750). The MacBook Pro 16 M2 costs $2500. There is a 23% VAT deduction for businesses. I am not sure which one to choose.
Because the target demographic for Macs isn’t gamers, the same can’t be said for windows. Also, you can still emulate Windows games on M-series Macs incredibly well, the same can’t be said for the Snapdragon ARM chips.
i am soooo regretful that I didn't research ARM before i got this. i just looked up comparison specs for the snapdragon vs intel stuff, and didn't even realise that ARM is new enough that loads of companies just aren't supporting it. My vpn and antivirus don't work on it, which isn't a HUGE deal, but annoying enough that I would have chosen the vivobook pro instead. I don't play a huge amount of games on PC, but I would have liked the option to use that RTX 4050. the battery and screen are really good though, and I guess I'll see how it fares with my art programs
Excellent review. I'll stick to Intel. I've experienced enough of driver issues with Linux. ARM and drivers will take a huge amount of time to work without issues.
Is the qualcoom snapdragon x elite processor suitable for programming and cybersecurity? I'm a Cyber security student, does it benefit me to the university stage?
No 4k@120Hz with external monitors and hdmi is a fake 2.1. Yes, we have to wait another generation or two to get a decent laptop with good specs at affordable prices
I mean, it’s a Vivobook at the end of the day. They are supposed to be relatively affordable home notebooks, not business class notebooks like the Surface pro etc
well said! maybe 2 years from now if it's already stable. I will definitely buy this. For now, I'll stick with intel ultra series.
but ultra 9 doesn't run stable at all 🤨🤔
@@tafkasmiregal3548 it does, not like its an i9 13 or 14th gen
ryzen gen 8 the best choice

How people are commenting about Games on ARM misses that they're not even available on M Series Macs. Apple didn't have to content with games.
They have with using a crossover

Nice
Can this laptop use external GPU?
You can play WOW dragonflight on it ? What are thermal at decent geaphic settings?
Yup! It runs natively. I talk about it in my full review which you can find attached to this short.
How does it perform when unplugged from the power?
ARM processors are very efficient better than Intel or AMD
I have a question, in how many fps can you run light ARM games ?
ik fortnite can run 120plus fps mid settings 1080p
Is it just me or has anybody noticed the slightly bent screen on left hand side. Bent screen is clearly visible at 26 second mark
