Your bike looks awesome. The color and the shape of the frame make it look like the Zorg ZF-1.😂. It's light. Handle's adjustable for easy carrying, good for righties and lefties. Breaks down into four parts, undetectable by x-ray, ideal for quick, discreet interventions. Trek oldies but goldies, iso speed, OCLV. A word on firepower, carbon wheels, mullet drivetrain. And the all new frame storage system.
Great video! I do have a couple of questions however. I just bought a checkpoint SL6 and have been having two issues. First of all the e shifting noise. The axs sram rival derailleur/ group set that the bike comes with is persnickety….have had to go in a few times to get lbs to adjust. It makes noise in the second to biggest cog and it was actually “catching” where the cassette would freeze and would get stuck. That’s been solved but there are two sort of clunkier noisier cogs now. Kind of annoying. Also with all the wear and tear you out on the bike haven’t you contaminated the hydraulic brakes yet? lol. I’ve had it happen twice. Once from spilling degreaser near them but also just once from riding! I rode near a port and there was oil on the water and I was just riding on an adjacent road and both brakes got contaminated. I’m scared of this brake contamination happening frequently or even during transporting your bike it can happen. I ordered muc off brake protectors but man I feel like I have to control where I ride now. Not so good! I absolutely love my bike tho in every other way. It’s soooo comfortable. Any insights?
The Domane is really cool in the sense you that you can take it on some dirt roads no problem. The checkpoint you can take on mtb trails and not stress depending on your tires. It’s a dedicated drop bar off-road bike.
SO I'm thinking of picking up a Checkpoint but not sure between the ALR5 or the SLR5 .... I want a quasi dual purpose commuter / road / gravel bike pack bike.... thoughts > ?
I watched this video first when I ordered my Checkpoint SL 6 AXS and then found The bicycle Station later to watch the Checkpoint build videos. I just now realized it was you when I came back to find out about that BBIninite. Is it a significant difference vs what comes on them? Seems like a fun project, but I don't know if it's a $200-300 fun project yet. I have my first long ride this summer, so I just am trying stuff out and having fun with it.
@@bicyclestation what's the weight, though? My build came in at about a kilo more than an Sworks Crux with a heavy 2x drivetrain and a 45 in the front. I'm guessing yours is less
Cool review. Awesome bike. I noticed it’s size 56. How tall are you? I’m 188 cm an by Trek’s recommendation I choose 58. But… my Emonda is 56 and I’m happy with it.
Great review.I’m just about to order a frame set for my build and can’t decide which size to go for. I have Domane size 56 which fits me fine, I’m 5’11”, but the geometry of the Checkpoint seems quite a bit longer in reach and top tube. Do you mind telling me how tall you are? I know Trek recommend 56 for my height but I don’t really want a longer reach to the bars and I’m wondering whether a 54 would be better. There are no bikes in my area to try. Appreciate your thoughts.
I’d probably get a different bike in this case. I’m 5 11. The bikes is designed to ride with the super long reach and a short stem. Maybe check out like the crux or Boone
Can I order a similar setup from Trek via project one or is this something my bike shop will have to build up? Also whats the cost on a bike like this?
This one’s completely custom. We could do it for you if you want. This one’s on the pointy end and probably around 13k

I have the set I like it, the SLR would have been to expensive for me. What I don't like that the project one is only available for the higher end. I will change mine to be more bike baking friendly with dynamo light and so on but I really like that it is so flexible.
Hi. Congratulations on your bike. The color is really amazing. Can you tell me the type and model of your Garmin mount? I'm looking for how to fix my Garmin 1030 plus on my Chekpoint slr with aero handlebars. thank you
Thanks a lot for your answer. I have a Bontrager slr stem and a 3t superghiaia handlebar. Thanks again and keep up the good work. You solved my problem. I will buy this
Great overview! Good to hear from someone who actually rides one all the time.
Thanks!
Great bike, amazing color combo. I like your first person experience instead of all these paper comparisons from some people.
Thanks, man!

I m lucky to own a Checkpoint SLR myself. Its a great bike. Love it
Such an underrated channel. So good. Keep up the rad content.
TOP+++
What a bike, amazing!!
I love it. Thanks!
is this still your favorite bike?
That’s a sick bike. Nice
Think its the best looking gravel bike!
Interesting. I have to admit, if it isn't a MTB from Trek, I'm really unaware. I know the Domane. I like confidence worthy tires.

you're supposed to have a 5mm spacer under the topcap
lol I forgot about that. It doesn’t look as cool

Your bike looks awesome! How tall are you with the 56 frame? I’m in between sizes and I’m 5 9”

Too heavy.. waste of money.. sell it and get a $15,000 bike. you would save like 200 grams for only 15k
I think that checkpoint had an msrp of 15k when I had the nsw wheels one it. So idk if what your saying would make any difference

Im sold, special ordering a New TREK Checkpoint.
We don’t have gravel in Florida. 😢😢😢 Gravel comes from granite bed rock and Florida is either lime rock or sand. 😮😮😮
I like your set up can you share your drive train information I want to do the same thing
Cool review.
Awesome bike.

What is your inseam?
32"
Great looking bike! What brand is your sprocket and type of derailleurs youre using
Wow what a gorgeous bike, thanks for your honest, heart-felt review. I can tell you love riding it -like a match made in heaven!
Beautiful video
Thanks!
What colors are those?
My dream bike 💯👌
Great video...love that color combination...

Awesome bike, I want one.

This bike wrapped? How is it so crispy after 6 months in gravel :o
Haha that’s the paint

It just costs so much for them to do the custom painting it unfortunately really only makes sense to do the custom paint on the high end frames
Can you make a list of all you added and links where to get them please.Thank you!
Were a bike shop so I ordered them the parts from the manufacture. What did you want I can order it for you.
Bro killer! What’s the brand on that front chain ring?
Absolute black 46t
👍
i'm korean. Where did you buy that hat?
The Hub in Brevard North Carolina
Were you able to purchase just the frameset?
Any trek dealer can purchase just frames. Let me know if you want us to get you one!
Hi. Congratulations on your bike. The color is really amazing. Can you tell me the type and model of your Garmin mount? I'm looking for how to fix my Garmin 1030 plus on my Chekpoint slr with aero handlebars. thank you
It’s a zipp stem faceplate mount. You’d have to use a zipp stem in tandem with it but it’s great
Thanks a lot for your answer. I have a Bontrager slr stem and a 3t superghiaia handlebar. Thanks again and keep up the good work. You solved my problem. I will buy this
Is that a 40 or 42 cm handlebar?
44
Great combinations of sram AXS system, and every bike for extreme tough race should have T47 BB😙😙 and this P1 is really a beauty.
Appreciate it!
