I live in Cairns and done the CREB about a dozen times. 3 times while raining and that's a challenge. You wouldn't make it with a trailer if it rained and as for standing in the Daintree ..... you gotta be f#@king nuts. There's a few big crocs there, including a very territorial one about 14 feet long that lives just about 80 meters from where that fella was standing.
I wouldn't be wading through the water at the Daintree crossing ! A couple of years ago when we were there, we saw a huge croc only about 100 metres down stream from the crossing. It doesn't look like croc country because of the rapid running water but apparently there are lots of crocs.

Yeah we were advised by some locals that there were potentially some crocs so we didn’t walk the whole crossing and just drove it 👍🏻
