It is summer league, but McCain showed his offensive skill set as not being completely reliant on 3’s, which was his specialty going into the draft. Philly gonna appreciate his grit.

Well that was the word on Nurse in Toronto. He doesn't utilize youth. Here's hoping he will use the backups more.
He literally won a chip with a combo of youth and vet and he ran the offense around Scottie Barnes. What young player did he not play? Council is big better than Tobias rn. That’s just a fact.

It's not just about Doc being gone, it's the fact that Morey isn't handcuffed or having to do clean up duty to repair mistakes from previous management. He's got the coach he wants, the cap space and the assets.

This is gonna sound crazy, but the Sixers with their lineup and bench unit right now and we'll still probably add a couple pieces like veterans minimum guys and things like that, but if you squint it's kind of like an alternate version of the OKC Thunder and what they're doing. All of a sudden we have a lot of youth on this team and balancing that out with the veterans that we did get is a no brainer. We went from having no developmental guys to having three or 4 within a year and that's crazy.
Between Maxey and Council, we didn’t have a lot of prospects. Suddenly getting Kelly back for three years (28), Martin for FOUR years (28), and drafting two guys who are shockingly NBA ready at age 20, we have quite a bit of youth in the building along with our four old heads.
@@andrewsammons9643 We also still have a lot of picks and we can flip them for someone if we wanted to or we could keep them and just see how this year pans out, because those picks could be valuable.

McCain played better than I expected, but his shooting was brutal. I assume that is an anomaly, since he’s known as a sniper.
Ricky Council didn’t belong there and it showed. Too good for summer league. Needs more court time this season. He’s a player.
Council is an absolute bucket. Still apprehensive on the others cause we kinda felt like Springer was gonna do something and didn't translate to the NBA court like the G League.

Something else that DJ brought up that was interesting is when he said maybe we don't get a power forward. When you look at the roster we have a lot of athletic wings and I can't believe I'm saying that where depending on matchups you can start someone different each night. You can have a line up with Caleb Martin and Kelly Oubre or you could have a lineup with potentially bringing in Ricky Council or Bona. The versatility is off the charts for what you could do so far with this lineup and it's not at all stagnant. My biggest question would be who fills out the rest of the roster and I really do hope we don't bring back Kyle Lowry because Nick Nurse will just force feed him because they're best friends.

- i think Council could stay as the Backup SF but Nurse & Morey may want a Veteran
3RD TEAM- Just Bona for now
- McCain & Council would be on 3RD TEAM if Sixers get a Veteran Backup PG & Veteran Backup SF
- I agree w/you bro that Dowtin can help at Backup PG
-I also agree that McCain can help at Backup PG too if Sixers focus on developing his PG skills more & more so McCain can be a legitimate PG/SG/Combo Guard

The first thing I thought when I saw council on the summer league roster is that it reminded me of when maxey was on it in his 2nd season. He’s clearly just too good for those summer league guys.

Put some respect on Ricky's 3 ball. Its an awkward release but enables him to be a deadeye shooter on close outs. And no ur not over reacting, I stated last vid, Bonas intensity and toughness will make him more of an impact than our 1st rounder. Counsil and Bona on the court with Drummond is the toughness Philly's been needing.

I watched that draft combine scrimmage with Bronny James, where he supposedly played so well that his entire draft stock went up. Honestly, bronny looked god-awful giving up turnovers that he should’ve never. But my biggest take away without a doubt was How damn good Adem Bona looked. I think this guy won’t get huge minutes right now, but she has the type of energy that made me excited about the ball Paul with a little bit more refinement. Very excited to see what he can be if he can limit those fouls.

I had some similar sensations with those 3. Bona's intensity was awesome. He is raw offensivelly but I see the motor in him. He screamed "gimmethatshit" while blocking his first shot. McCain seems to me more a 2 guard than a point guard, so it's interesting to see how he is going to develop and what his role is going to be. Ricky Council draw a lot of fouls attacking the rim too. And what do you make of Aluma, although allowed a couple of and1s on defense with some weak fouls, he looked good on offense and rebounding the ball.

Although I'd love to have a solid stretch 4 with some size and the ability to rebound, matching up with Boston starting 5 they typically don't have a power forward. They use Tatum in that spot.
Dam i just watched Dalton K. Highlight from Lakers Summer League & although i like McCain a little bit, i think Dalton K. can help more right away & Dalton K. will have a better NBA cateer unless McCain can become a Point Guard

Adem Bona looks good.. but he still needs to work on the desire to position himself and go after every rebound. Defensive rebounding seems to be a bit of a weakness for him... hopefully they train him to use that athleticism to become a beast on the boards.

Not trying to jinx this but Sixers might be onto something here. From the look of it would clearly say we are stacked or look very promising so let's just hope and pray they actually utilize or capitalize on this. Sixers sometimes has nice star bench players but the coach rarely uses them or rotate them so will see. Not being overrated yet but don't count your chickens before they hatch. Why is Council not fully signed and can't believe he rarely played in last season playoffs when he clearly gave a spark and did something but wasn't used properly so jury is still out.
I wonder which guy you guys are going to try to run out of Philly next year.

I'm really liking this Sixers off season. While I'm not thrilled about PG, Sixers got a ton of potential with youth and durability and I'm real interested to see what the mad scientist Nick Nurse cooks up in year 2.
According to Eastwood, Sixers are a title contender and their bench is stacked. No excuses if they fall short for the 24th straight season.
That’s why RC4 got that contract so he can play this year in the playoffs. 2 way contract are the worst 50 games and no playoff game allowed in 2 ways
All of our dudes are getting minutes this year. I'm not too sure who we are gonna be snatching to fill the last handful of spots up. If Gary Trent wants to compete for a chip, I'd say a bench of: McCain, Trent Jr, Ricky Council, Adem Bona, Andre Drummond, and Eric Gordon is a great rotation. Would love to snatch Tyus Jones as our backup PG, but i think Trent has more of a chance of signing a vet minimum.
Adem Bona I would give him a some minutes at power forward he has the foot speed and all that I would say to him is get rebounds play D run the floor. He will get his points from put backs dunks. He also has a nice little jumper.
And nick nurse is good at developin players somethin we didnt have in ages
