Looking at his paintings in the videos, I could only think of Picasso and cubism. His wikipedia page says his artistic style was "avant-garde", and I can think of a couple artists from Brazil who were/are "avant-guardists". Glad to see this site listed on the UNESCO heritage.

Yes, he was born in 1909, so he had his youth right around the time that movement was trending. I believe that likely influenced his work a lot
