You guys need to try Cask Days in Toronto, Canada. 400 different casks from all over Canada + a portion from the US.
It really is a whole lot of fun.
Sounds amazing! Can't believe there are that many casks being filled in Canada. We'll have to look it up and try to make it out.
Its every October. Go on the first day as once a cask is out, its out.

That list you went through at the beginning is enough to make any beer nerd, like this one, giddy. Looks like a hell of a beer fest. Cheers!
Yeah when we were editing it we just kept screaming TAKE ME BACK.
I had to cut beer out of my diet but I always watch every episode! I am living vicariously through you guys!
sorry to hear that man but glad we can help you live through it!
HappyConsoleGamer lifes to short not to drink great beer
HappyConsoleGamer just DONT DRINK bud miller coors ect...
HappyConsoleGamer Also sorry to hear that. I had to quit the worshipful stuff when I had cancer. Could not take even a wee drinky for a very long time. Luckily I survived what was almost certain to kill me and once again my mug is in the mug with a foamy mustache.
If you are a type two diabetic, it is difficult to love beer. That is gin and soda land for a drinker. A type one diabetic has more room to maneuver. I am a type one.
HappyConsoleGamer - Me too. My last drinks were on April 15, 2017. Some Don Julio tequila. Stone IPA, Bear Republic Hop Shovel & a couple Plinys. I didn’t consider myself a alcoholic as much as I did a Plinyholic. I’m a much better husband and father without the stuff. Couple that with the 333 calling and I’m done with it. One of the hardest things I’ve ever done in life. However I do still watch these channels on occasion & beer reviews here n’ there. I guess I’m just a glutton for punishment.
The fact that you could get through that festival *and* make a video is damn impressive; I don't think I've ever left a beer festival without seeing double. * grins * Great video, guys!
+SigmaMorrigan haha - we certainly indulged once we got all the footage we needed!
To hear you mention Side Project and not see you try their beers was a shock. They're the clear leader in stouts globally, but would be really interesting to know what their reputation was like back then if you can remember?
Great video, always great content! Also love Jester King and Monkish. I'm from Texas and used to frequent JK often and now I live in SoCal and go to Monkish as much as possible! Cheers!
+Alex you follow great beer then! Pick us up a lost cat next time you're at Monkish! ;)
happy you guys got to try Monkish I live down the street from the brewery , Cheers
We'd had some before but these ones blew us away!
When I could not drink beer, this would have been real torture. Now I can comfort myself with a Gulden Draak while watching. Brussels for ever.😎
Genius! Great job! Couldn't make down there but Thanks for the great documenting. 🍻
+Beer Tuben thanks man!
it was an epic event.. hope to see you there next year. the monkish line was up there in ridiculousness but well worth it. And no line for Sante?! that's a great festival. Cheers
Haha, yeah. Russian River wasn't slammed either. What a time to be alive.
really loving your channel so far!
thanks guys! Liking the look of yours too.
Just got my copy of your new book. Highly readable. Congrats 👍🏻. You guys could also surely release a beer pedia of the best craft beers out there with tasting notes etc.. for all us that drool over every beer you guys enjoy. Awesome work, cheers.
Thanks Scott. That would be one hell of a project! We're actually looking at ways to team up with people who do something similar
Per your recollection, how many glasses did you hear meet the floor? Every beer festival I've been to there are at least a handful of people (or more) who can't seem to keep their grips on their sampling glasses.
You guys have to come to Norway for the Bergen Craft Beer Fest 2017 in May 19 - May 20. Cheers
+che chileno we'll look it up! Loved our trip to Norway in 2015.
Awesome clip lads 🍺
Cheers!
Great video guys! Slush puppy imperial stouts sound great. Will you be doing anymore videos from your trip to the west coast?
+Concreta we sure will! Interviews at Russian River and Bear Republic, a beer log at Lagunitas and where to drink in San Francisco! Beery overload!
Hill Farmstead is the greatest place on earth. I really hope you sampled everything they had.
every time we see it, we buy it. That NZ saison was insane.
Looks like a good fest. Aren't you guys excited about the big Beavertown fest in Sept.?That's an incredible lineup they've managed!
Yeah they've done very well indeed! Gonna be a big ask for their first festival though! We'll be there, probably filming.
Fantastic video Guys....
You perra lucky barstewards...
that's about right.
Love it you guys kick ass!
+Nicholas Sheppard thanks Nicholas! We try.
Love this channel! Could use some timelapses
+Beer Tuben and more montages!
So depressing to see these awesome craft beers and then not being able to find them in Ontario. I want to try some Lost Cat.
+CurseTheDawn I've been searching high and low since. We get a little Monkish in the UK but no Lost Cat
I don't get the queues? I'm going to MBCC this year for the first time so it might be my first experience of stupidly long queues. I thought the 8-deep for Cloudwater at Indy Man a bit much, ha!
It was a lot of people for not so many breweries I think, plus every time a whale went on every ran for it. It wasn't so bad though, you just got a beer and joined the next queue and socialised there. So long as everyone was happy to go to the same brewery it was pretty smooth!
I don't suppose we can get them beer glasses? another great video
+paul merryman haha, not sure. They we cool though. Maybe email ratebeer!
I'll do just that. Cheers.
Lucky!! Would love to have gone there! So many good beers and crazy stuff there. Is this open to the public at all or more of an invite only type deal? The Tired Hands milkshake IPAs are so damn good! It's a crazy combo that really works. Great video! Cheers!
+Crafty Beer Reviews yeah it was an amazing experience. The whole of Santa Rosa really. The festival was open to all, cover fee then free beer. You could pay more to come before the crowds - highly recommended!
That's awesome! Thanks for the tip!
Nice hat... what's BeerPic 😉... it was awesome to meet you guys... and of course the beers were phenomenal...where are you headed next?
you too! We've got plans for Germany and Sweden, but lots of UK and US content to come before then. And a book to finish!
The Craft Beer Channel that's awesome...I love beer books...I'll be waiting for it
Hello, guys! You should definetly come to Russian Craft Beer Festival which is called Big Craft Day in Moscow. You will be amazed about development and quality of russian craft beer scene. Cheers!
Man we'd love to! We'll look it up - keep hearing great things about breweries in Russia.
Awesome place to be it seems. The lactose thing seems quite weird to me really, but hey, if it works, right? I've got a quick question though. I'm Dutch, and although I'd consider my English to be reasonably decent, I'd like to know what you mean with pithy when describing a flavour. I want to say, considering you use it for IPA's a lot, it has to do with a certain bitterness you'd get when biting into a pith of a citrus fruit?
Exactly right - it's a slightly bitter tang you get from the more aggressive hop aromas that is reminiscent of orange or grapefruit skin. More a west coast than east cost characteristic. Hope that helps!
Haven't had the change to taste real east and west coast IPA's, struggling to get my hands on some of those, but that's tricky here. But thanks for the awesome reply!!
Did you sample anything from de Garde Brewing out of Tillamook, OR? They make some AMAZING wild ales.
+fat420cracker damn we missed them! We'll be in Oregon one day soon though.
Well when you do make it to Oregon de Garde should def be on your list. Cheers fellas!!
cheers!
Hey I just got the new book and i cant put it down good job guys.
+Parker Anderson thanks! Glad you like it. Hopefully book two is coming end of next year
Awesome cant wait and maybe ill meet you in person one day.
Parker Anderson we're at just about every festival there is! so one day maybe!
I would like to know.... @ 4:46, does she end up finding Henry?
+Brennan MacDonald fingers crossed. He was probably in the queue for Monkish. Everyone else was.
what application did you guys use at 2:45
It's called BeerPic. Really cool app but still in Beta.
Is it super important to stare into the middle distance while tasting beer Jonny? :p
+Joshua Elliff haha no that's my signature move! Brad has dolphin noises, I do middle distance.
Pretty sure you are talking about The Bruery who said they would never make an IPA, not Monkish. Although the Bruery has created a new beer company specializing in IPAs now.
Monkish said it two so I guess that makes two who did...and then made one.
found out it was that they had a sign saying No MSG. No IPA.
Yeah just looked that up myself. Never read the post before, but sounds like they strictly brewed belgian beers at first and didn't have any hop contracts. Pretty interesting.
Well they clearly have a hop contract or two now!
Nice work boys. Hope Brad didn't drive you back to your lodgings. He looked like he was getting his boogly beer boggle on
Andy Forshaw he sure was by the end. And we had a Des thank God.
by this time next year, I don't think flight prices will be an issue for you guys. #keeppounding
+Kristian Schepelern haha well that would be nice!
yeah but the 14 day checks and cavity searches at the airports may be :p
MiggyManMike we quite enjoyed them this time around. They'd never seen a shotgun microphone at customs and in retrospect I probably should have called it something else...
You might try "MR-15", they'll get a buzz out of that :D
whats that app you use to scan label of beer
It's called Beer Pic. Still in Beta but looked pretty good to us so we popped it in.
Thank you, Looks interesting tried finding on play store but its now showing up
might be one word? Definitely on there!
The Craft Beer Channel Got it 😀😀😀😀 Thank you
Is it bigger than GBBF??
No nowhere near - probably 25% of the size at an estimate.
Interesting. Do you know of any festival, anywhere bigger or same size as GBBF?
Do you guys have an untappd account?
+Daniel McConnell Jonny does, though he is sporadic in using it. Look up JonnyCBC.
