Škoda Trolleybus! - San Francisco MUNI 2002 ETI/Škoda 14TrSF trolleybus No. 5445 on line 22

(09/05/2019) Take a ride on another ETI/Škoda trolleybuses I was able to chase down while they were still in service. These buses were retired literally just 2 days after I shot this video.

i miss these a lot. i rode them literally every day while i was back before going into riordan. hopefully ill get to ride 5573 when the day comes.

Nice looking. Fun to drive. Didn’t like hot weather. Didn’t like rain. And, the electronic door control button was right next to the driver’s window, which meant that if you drove in the rain with the window open (so you could hear what’s around you) the water would short circuit the door control and the bus had to be taken out of service. By the end, they also leaked, magnificently. On one rainy day, after relieving onto one with a Niagara Falls onto the dashboard by the door, I went through 6 coaches and an hour just to find a water tight version I could pull out.

All those buses are retired as of September 7th 2019 Trainz and Planes

So there are none left in service but muni did preserve one 5538 is preserved by muni and probably will be at this year heritage weekend maybe or next year’s Heritage weekend I say maybe this year’s heritage weekend because muni might not host a heritage weekend this year because of covid19 Trainz and Planes
