- This is a moving program that will change the way you understand freedom and life.
In August 1964, an American pilot was shot down and captured by the North Vietnamese. In the following years of the Vietnam Conflict, hundreds of American prisoners of war were interrogated, starved and tortured in Communist prisons. Prisoners of Hope presents the experiences of ten of these individuals who were denied that most valuable and precious possession -- freedom. Their stories are filled with suffering and survival, death and deliverance. But above all, they are testimonies of courage, faith, and a sustaining hope that refused to die. This is a moving program that will change the way you understand freedom and life.

These men felt the presence of GOD SO STRONGLY, Just before they thought there lives were coming to an end..........AND THEY WERE ABLE TO LAUGH AT THERE CAPTURES. DONT TELL ME GOD DOESN'T EXIST BECAUSE I DON'T BELIEVE IT. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
There is also another Documentary you will want to watch if you liked this one. called......JERAMIAH. I BELIEVE that is the correct spelling of his name. Probably the top 5 Docs I've seen in my 57 years of life. Very emotional.

I dont know how I cam across this video ...but you said it perfectly it made me feel very emotional I cried got angry so many more emotions...god bless them
Heartbreaking that so many men were left behind to die in prison camps.
I read Denton's book "When Hell Was in Session." It's an excellent read, and I nearly cried after finishing it.
saw the movie. Hal Holbrook was never better. rest his soul. Ronny Cox was great too. Eva Marie Saint(be still, my heart) is still beautiful in her '50's. she's close to 100 now.
I still can't believe my fellow Americans elected a man who several times, insulted American POW's. I vote Libertarian. this 2 party system has got to go.
@@tonym994I am the grandson of this man. I hate that Trump said what he said about preferring soldiers who don’t get captured. But I also know that he was talking about “no name”. I support Trump because I agree with his policies. If I talked to him 1 on 1 I am sure he would concede to the merit of your point and my own.
@@tonym994My Papa Jerry would likely not support the statement made, but would support the sentiment behind it. There are certain things I have to take to the grave
Read the book. When hell was in session
23:10 haha he’s giving the finger
Great interviews ruined by horrible background music
I make poopy on my bum drum
The Music is annoying as fuck
If you try and put yourself into the shoes of these brave souls and imagine what they went through, the music doesn’t really matter .
good 'ol communism. isn't it great? Well, I have to go stand in line for bread now...
