Everyone knows now surely how big Steve Hughes is in the stand up comedy scene? The amount of times I've tried to tell people he was part of a band from Australia who produced some of the heaviest thrash metal in existence in the early/mid 80's. They often don't seem interested haha.

@@jprp999 there are no blastbeats on Abominations. fast thrash beats played badly by Mike.... that's it. nothing close to what Repulsion, Carcass, Napalm, Slaughter Lord, Sadistik Exekution were doing. Morbid Angel kicked out Mike Browning and got a decent drummer in 87... Wayne Hartsell. that man could blast
I wore this demo tape out in 1986.....lucky I made copies of my copy...but alas only on you tube for me now....need to rig my stero up to the computer...2000 watts out put...hahahahah FELL THE THRASH.......

That's arguable since there are really good modern bands if you know where to look, but the huge amount of samey shit bands with clean productions right now just connotes that today's metal is pure shit and uninspired.
Nope. I agree. Most metal today is weak with no soul. But of course its gonna be. I mean, think about back then what the influences were for bands like this compared to now. Bands back then were creating metal. Bands today are just copying it while rarely adding anything innovative or interestingly new. Metal has been around long enough to be trendy. Rare that a metalhead gets his ass kicked for being a metal head these days. Back then it was fight to exist. Like most scenes.

Huge fan of both Sadistik Exekution and Mortal Sin, but in my case I found out that he was a comedian sometime after.
