My wife and I use a veto when we find something on the road that we don’t want to deal with. If we plan to stop somewhere and one of us doesn’t like it for instance you just say veto and we leave. No argument, no debate, no explanation, no recriminations. Any situation that makes one of us uncomfortable we just say veto and off we drive to find something better.
I think nomadic people are good at connecting with their intuition. Materialistic desires tend to block our intuition, but nomadic people aren't very materialistic, so it's easier for them to hear the voice of their intuition. The same goes for selfishness. Most of them are not easily distracted by selfish thoughts, so they can remain connected with their intuition.
Well done, “Professor Bob!” That was a wonderfully & and skillfully drawn picture of what we were taught in nursing school to call, “nursing instinct.” It’s what happens when you check on a patient and everything looks great and so you exit the room…only to stop dead in your tracks, whip around, go back into the patient’s room….just in time to catch them go into cardiac arrest! And you’re right, it’s something you can nurture and grow. Sadly, some people were taught (or chose) to shut themselves off from their intuition…usually to their detriment.
Bob, you never cease to surprise me with your knowledge. Every day I watch your channel, and I always find something I need to know. An interview with a person (just like me) who isn't afraid to take that first step; or, someone who was fearful but needed to take that step. Usually, it's just one comment that someone makes that clarifies what I need to hear. Still, I am always amazed at how little I need to live a happy life. Blessings upon you and upon our tribe.
Thanks for the reminder Bob. I'll be heading east so probably no boondocking opportunities and I'll be staying at rest stops along the way. I will be using all parts of my brain, I hope, to keep me safe. Thanks for all your advice.
Once I intended to stay at a rest stop for a much needed rest but I just knew not to and somehow the ability to be awake and alert came instantly. I drove away and I stayed elsewhere that night. I believe I was spared a bad experience. Wishing you safe travels.
Spot on, Bob. There are so many names for intuition, that everyone uses every single day. How many times have we said to ourselves, "Man, I knew I should have __________"?
Thank you Bob for such a great video! You were very thorough in your explanation and used words and examples that explained the subject from many different angles and beliefs. Very informative but also helpful in discussing this subject with others. Love it! Thank you!
Thanks Bob for some good information .. I'm a single Christian woman .. And go fishing or boating by myself locally ... but think I'll wait till I get a man to protect me to travel farther .. Plus as you have said ... There's safety in numbers .. So a couple is safer than a single person .. But you're right, our soul (conscious and subconscious) gives us warnings the we need to be aware of and respond accordingly .. Einstein was a Jewish Christian .. He has numerous amazing quotes that I love !! Thank you so much for the very informative and intelligent video .. I know many people got something out of this .. Not just me .. Happy trails and God bless !!
Thankyou for talking about a topic that means a great deal to me, my family relies on intuition, inner feelings, emotions and common sense, pretty much in that order, we have strong spiritual beliefs and feel these factors work together as long as you keep your mind wide open, look forward to listening to your next session😎
Max Gunther wrote an excellent book called ‘The Luck Factor’ that hypothesizes that luck is really the culmination of intuition. We know so much more than we are aware we know.
I have listened to my intuition a few times when at a campsite, had a prickly feeling and thought it was not the place for me, then my dog let out a loud sharp bark….That confirmed it, this was not the spot to stay.
Yep! ALWAYS listen to your dog. I had a Dachshund that alerted me to a guy that intended to rob me, and one time when I ignored his warning not to go on a day trip the bus I was to follow...the engine caught on fire. If my dogs don't like a person, either do I. 🐕😎
Years ago Gavin de Becker wrote a book called "The Gift of Fear". Excellent read, he talks about the ability of every person to recognize that gift. Over the years, women in particular were programed to disregard that intuition which in some instances got them into dire consequences. I've viewed your videos for that last couple of years now and have found them to be very informative. Thank you so much for the information you have put forth to help those who have chosen nomadic life. I haven't ventured that road just yet but I'm really considering it with all that is happening. Thank you again!!!
Bob, I love your videos... all of them but this is the best yet. I was familiar with most of the facts you presented however you put them together in a way that opened me up to new possibilities... you are awesome.
Wow! I look forward to the next video also. My own experience is that the more I listen to what I call "the little voice or my guardian angel or the voice of my Creator" ... the more I hear it. And not only safety issues, but all kinds of "decisions" from small seemingly inconsequential things to the big stuff. I grew up with a lot of "shoulds" from family and friends. I imagine most nomads followed intuition to find the way to the best life for them. And I will say that the inner voice never says that I "should" do something. I hear it more as suggestion. The science was amazing - thank you for sharing all that you did.
Bob, this was AMAZING! As good as any sermon I have ever heard in church. Trust and believe that you can develop your intuition because you absolutely can! Thank you, Bob. Great video and information!!
I would love to read more on this and get more in touch with those times that I know I should have listened to that voice speaking to me. Thanks Bob for the lesson here.
Great advice wether you are on the road, or at the grocery store. Feel like someone is following you around? Get a store escort. Never be afraid of seeming paranoid, and never be afraid of insulting someone.
Every time I don’t listen to this whatever you want to call it I’m sorry. Have learned to listen to inner voices and outer ones. Thank you again for this information. Hope it helps someone
Yes! That book taught me so much! How to avoid being a victim and some things to do or not do to stay safe. How to look out for dangerous people and situations. I highly recommend it!
UR SO RIGHT, PEOPLE NEED TO USE THEIR BRAINS MORE, WHEN U GET THAT FEELING THAT SOMETHING IS JUST NOT RIGHT LISTEN TO IT, USE COMMOMSENSE WHEN DEALING WITH LIFE AND DONT IGNORE WHAT UR GUT IS TELLING U.......
I believe what you call intuition is the Holy Spirit telling/warning you. I'm not sure how anyone can be an atheist. You just proved how miraculous and wonderful our creator made and fashioned us, even when we were in the womb.
Btw…I’ve been watching and learning from you since 2015/2016…I’ve been living free since 2020…I hope to meet you somewhere down the road. The yearly RTR has grown so much…not sure, but I may visit the area for a bit…would love to shake your hand🙌🙏🌷
Wow Bob - this is among your very best works! Clear, to the point, and full of so much value for your viewers. It has me once again rethinking my priorities and decision making. Thank You! Chris
Just to add to this there has been some scientific research into grey matter that exists on the top of the heart. This reacts even faster to danger than our conscious brain does. They started studying this when heart transplant patients started developing the skills and habits of their heart donor. truly amazing stuff.
Really interesting orientation to Intuition! Looking forward to Part 2. I have learned to "listen" to my intuition - and sometimes it IS like a "still small voice", other times anxiety/gut feeling. No regrets.
This is all spot on, Bob. My intuition has served me well over the years. Part of the “gift” of growing up in a chaotic, dysfunctional home is hyper-vigilance. It can draining to always feel on alert but I believe it can be life saving.
I hear you! I'm always trying to "head it off at the pass" and "play the tape to the end". Hypervigalent. Yes, it's exhausting sometimes, but better than the consequences.
Quote from Masami Saionji: The Universe is continually radiating its precepts to anyone and everyone on an equal basis. Those who can directly tune in to it and naturally accept it, just as it is, are those who can live in a world of perfect harmony, free from suffering and misfortune. They, in turn, radiate happiness outward to others. All of us possess the power of intuition. What ultimately decides our fate is whether or not we can make full use of it. (from her book Infinite Happiness)
Intuition is a real thing. But it's subconscious, and it's up to our consciousness to listen. And it can seem illogical to follow our subconscious (intuition), but it's even MORE logical than we can CONSCIOUSLY surmise.
I used to believe it was hooey fooey too. Until 9/11 hit and I woke up that morning knowing something was wrong. When I finally turned on the TV I saw what it was. But it puzzles me how those senses can pick up on something so far away with absolutely no connection that we know of. I get that same feeling in other situations. And when I push it off thinking it's hooey fooey again, I find out why yet again. I can only assume scientifically that it is some sense of how other people are thinking around us. And in a group it becomes more powerful.
I was traveling this summer and arrived at a rest area that I planned to spend the night at. The place just felt wrong to me and it was the only place on my entire five weeks on the road that I left and went someplace else. I went to the next rest area and I felt safe so I stayedd there. There was just something about that first location that felt wrong and I listened to my instincts
I've had a few experiences in my life (50+) where I've had a premonition a few seconds before what I felt would happen actually happened. Intuition must be an ancient, subconscious survival instinct.
Very nice, sometimes we are taught that following our intuition is not logical. But that is ok, sometimes we figure out the reason later why we felt the "sketchy vibe" and glad we didnt ignore it. The brain takes in so much information and our senses arent perfect. Maybe we saw something in our peripheral vision or another lapse. Its so important to not ignore your feelings.
The FBI will tell you to follow your intuition. For instance, women who have detached themselves from certain people or conversations, on a hunch, have saved their own lives. Any federal official will verify what Bob is saying here. Great and important information.
FABulous info! Intuition is a very big part of my life! I sometimes wonder how anyone can live a fulfilling life without it. I very much liked the scientific info you shared, but I don't need science to validate what I already experience with my intuitive senses. Thanks for sharing with us!

That’s awesome and a great way to build trust within a relationship. Trusting each other’s inner compass. Inspiring! 👏🏼💚
That’s a good idea and no arguments about why.
Sounds like such a great partnership!
This is probably one of the most beautiful and practical displays of trusting and honoring your partner I've seen. 💜💜
THAT is a very intelligent egalitarian thinking! Well done you!
I'm really glad you talked about this.
Intuition is absolutely Paramount in my life.
I'm really glad I found this, even two years after posted. This helped me understand my own intuition much better. Thank You! 🙂

Give God the glory! 🙏🏻
Intuition saved my butt several times in my life.
It's very simple. When your hair stands up at the back of your neck it's time to get out of the area. Keep your head on a swivel !

iOverlander offers tons of wild camps in the east. Rest areas are great but you need the wilderness from time to time even in the east.

I have always used the term, "gut feeling." " I just have a gut feeling..." This term covers both the lizard mind AND the vagus nerve.
