A tip for diyers. Old fridges and freezers make great boxes to store paints in. They keep them from freezing in the winter. Obviously you dont plug them in or turn them on. But when you gut one like this or have a dead or old one dont chunk it.
They seal so make a good storage place for oil cans ect
Great tips thanks, btw i live in tropical country
I actually made my own compressor set up 40 years ago and fully sprayed a VW Beetle with it.
I built one of these about a year ago, I put a foam paint roller pad, the 5" size i cut them to 3" and they fit perfect, on the tubes that draws in the air to keep any dirt out of the compressor body. I would recommend covering the fan blade so no one gets hurt.
Kindly tell me does this work well and is durable enough to last at least 3 years with out coil of compressor spoling
@@kirabirarobert1920 It depends on the condition of what you start with, what you use it for, how long it is running per day.

You forgot to add water discharge under need and air filter both pumps and between 2 pumps return valve. But great work!
...very inspiring...
Thumbs up!!
Thanks bro for this great comment

How do the compressors stay lubricated since the oil that lubricates them is normally in the freon that flows through them?
Nice build , maybe make shroud to cover fan ,from prying fingers. Oh also the air inlets. Maybe a filter box for unwanted blockages !
Fan not required. 🙂
bravo majstore 👏👏👏
Hvala Brate 👍😁
Does it take 9 minutes and 45 seconds to reach 8 bars? but that is a lot, it would not do to paint, because when you are painting the compressor stays on
nice 1 bro i was planning to make like this when i got home to philippines. from now im in japan i cant go home because of this pandemic shit... God Bless bro thanks 😊
Good job❤❤
Super wykonanie ✌️😎pozdrawiam

Great job. Well done.
Thank you!
Good job ❤❤
Top de mais parabéns amigo 👍🇧🇷👍

Guy builds a compressor that works and people are telling him how to turn a screw.
I like it It would be neat to know whether you can run things like a Dynabrade sander or an impact tire lug wrench.
Great job!
👍👍
Nice build my only suggestion would be to add a intake filter from an gas powered remote controlled race car. They fit right on
Thanks !
My only critique is that you need to have the tank pressure tested to at LEAST 20% higher psi than you will have the cut off set as. The tank was originally designed for far higher pressures, but you don't know how pitted the inside is from moisture, so the testing is at least a good idea.
👍😉
Hi you say this tank he's using was designed for much higher pressures do you know how much? And do you know how heavy it is? And when full of gas how heavy then?
@Dragomir Ronilac somebody has to be the first to try things to embark on newer knowledge. I'm just looking for a work around if I can find one
@ Don Natalie Lucas, I’ve been watching some compressed air videos, there’s a surprising lack of knowledge not only around good practice but more worryingly the devastating effects of compressed air when it goes wrong. From using propane tanks, to tyre inflation one guy is aiming for 300psi.
Just hope people who are unsure what they’re doing just buy an off the shelf compressor.
@@hitop2365 I personally witnessed the aftermath of an air tank explosion over 35 years ago. Everyone was fortunate to have not been there when it happened because the amount of devastation would have easily killed us. It was also good that a vehicle wasn't in the shop because the damage would have cost thousands of dollars to repair. A portable air compressor (I think it was a 30 gallon tank) that was rated to operate at 150psi had a sticking shut off switch that wouldn't shut off until around 175psi. It also was an older unit that had been placed under the corner of a farm shop bench made of rough cut 2x8 wood. It had not been pulled to be drained regularly & would only get drained when there was a significant amount of water coming out of the hose. We would unplug it when not in use, so the nobody worried about changing the cut off valve immediately. It was slated to the "next trip to town" status. One night we had forgotten to unplug it after working in the shop. About midnight there was an explosion loud & violent enough to be felt in the house about 100 yards away. When we got t the shop, there was a corner of the concrete block building blown out about from ground level to the 4-5 foot high mark & around 10 feet down the wall. Pieces of the boards from the bench were strewn about as well as parts of the 3 layers of 2" thick wood from the edge of the sliding door. Inside there were parts of the air tank blown into the ceiling, the door, the opposite side wall 30" away, & into the 14ga toolbox in the opposite side corner. Looking at the parts showed that the tank was pitted in the lower 1/4 level. We knew the cut oof device was defective but had not even thought about the safety pop off, which was found & was stuck shut. The motor was located nearly halfway to the house & the compressor unit was obliterated. We learned several valuable lessons that day. The best were that the tank MUST be drained EVERY day, to periodically check the pop off, & replace the cut off device IMMEDIATELY when it is defective.
Bravo majstore
👍👍
2 things :) First: you won't cool the compressors with that fan :) the compressors are cooled with the intake of air / gas, second if you don't discharge the compressor lines with the regulator you'll have a bad start and the compressors will switch off termically close one of the inlets of the tank and the compressors air out should be connected to the regulator also
Some fridge compressors have oil coolers
those fan expose also not safety at all, should at least make a cover
Nah mate, you're wrong about the cooling part. The air that gets compressed releases a lot of heat into the compressors. The fan is useful for cooling them down. In a fridge there's usually a plastic cover on top of the compressor. That's where the water that condenses in the fridge runs off to. When the water heats up from sitting on top of the hot compressor is evaporates and cools the compressor.
So the fan is actually a very good idea.
These compressors are designed so that the stator is cooled by the refrigerant returning from the evaporator. The fan is to cool the exchanger or condenser, helping the thermodynamic cooling cycle. So it doesn't really help much to cool the compressor motor.
wonder i had mad one like that, from LPG gas tank,BUT first i removed all nuts and taps, then i cleaned inwards, to remove rust, then i filled it with EPOXY paint for rust protection, and then WALLA loll, wish u did that so the tank will last more then your life, ,great work mate
Perfect 😍😍😍🥰❤

Cool build, really like it. :-)
Super 🤩❤❤
Well, it looks professional! Good Job.
Thanks my BRO 👍😊
as you said it looks like a professional but it doesn't come close to that, it's very amateurish, let's buy the parkside better than the lidl

very nice ! i would have a oil bath aircleaner on it to help lube the system, and make oil drain refill with automatic transmission fluid :) but man what a nice little rig there!

So great idea but whats lubricating the values inside without refridgerant?
Do you really need to fan to keep the compressor motors cool?
Usually, fans in refrigeration are usually to help cool the gases.
Najjak si❤❤
Thanks 👍😁😉
did you measure how much vacuum and presure does it provide?
good job
Thanks a lot bro 👍👍

Hi.
Thank you for your inspiring DIY videos. I am about to make my own compressor. A few questions;
-What is the fan mounted above for?
Thanks.
Hi, this fan is mounted here because it needs to cool the two small compressors from the fridge...and to extend the life of compressors ..
Thanks. I guess I hadn't thought they hear up as much... and that the other similar project you did with one compressor didn't have a cooling fan. Thanks.
@@MrDKDIY hey man you don`t need the fan if you were paying attention the fan for the condenser to remove the heat from it not for cooling the compressor and yes most definitely need a relief valve
and that tank is pitied i would not run the pressure that high
good luck
I like it. To protect the tank you could use navel jelly to clean the rust out. And there was a product I used on a motorcycle fuel tank years ago. Have you looked into air water separators. What happened to the coolant?
The fan is to cut your fingernails.
Good
Bravo👏👏👏
Good job😍😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍

Are the compressors working like batteries in series or parallel or are they both independently pressurized the tank contents?

An excellent job done and effective I might say. I would like to make an air compressor from an used car GPL gas tank and an old wheel compressor. Is there a way we can get in touch and change some opinions about this? I would really appreciate your advice🙏
Thanks
Very good, have you calculated the free air delivery rate ? I'm not that good at maths/engineering. A cheap 24L air compressor like Ozito is 54.4L per minute ? Your unit would be nice and quiet though.
😉👍
The displacement of the cylinders is 8.9cc, the rpm is 2900rpm so the combined (theoretical) output is 51.6LPM (1.82cfm). In practice, i would expect something around 1.6 cfm.
Amazing Homemade Video Project 👍😉
Thanks BALKAN Mr DK DIY

Hey, would like to build one. Could you give a list a parts used?
Use copper not ribber hose, jeeze
I like how you made the air compressor ok but what's the fan for 🤔 I don't see it doesn't do anything for it
Niceeeee works
👍👍👏😁
Nice💪💪
👍👍👍
nice. only air filter must for IN for finish work
always put wire on opposite side of screwing direction... thus your ground wire should have been on bottom so when you tighten, it will pull the wire into the clockwise direction of screw.. if you put on opposite side it will push wire out instead of pulling in. not a bad idea... these fridge compressors pump very high pressures too, just not much volume (r134a are capable of somewhere upwards of 600-800 psi)
I need 3600 psi. Any suggestions?
So how do you keep the ac compressor from overheating? Also, is moisture build-up that much of an issue? Im making my own and have hit a small speed bump just about to tie in pump to tank, how long did yours work after conversion?
moisture - seen some cheap tire inflator compressors spit out water. lot of water squeezed out of air. they should have dryer/drain or somesuch
just wondering, what is the fan there for...? not for cooling, that's sure... :)
should it just look pretty and/or indicate, that the compressor is working...?
Nice😍🥰
Thanks
What about oil inside the two compressors housing? When empty, compressors will dead. Need a oil inlet for both them.
Super 🥰🥰🥰
😉
cool build but what’s the purpose of the fan on the compressor?
When you get any tank that was used for air .... Inside it there might be a lot of rust.... Fill it up with white vinegar to help it soften all the inside rust then after two three days being filled with vinegar put a rag inside it after you have emptied it and shake it around inside there so that the rag can rub off all that rust inside it you can put a cup of water to help the rag become heavier and you'll see how clean it is inside, do that only with a rag two three times that way in the future the tank will not explode because of the rust eating through the inside of it
Very cool, but I don't think you need the fan. 😎😂
It is very well done but you should put a protector on the fan
Nice👍👏👏👍💪💪
Wow TnX
I hope your poor daughter wasn't too upset daddy stole her stabilisers? .. so I have one of these compressors, I was handed a compressor and a large old gas tank. I had visions of combining, similar to you. My question is, the compressors you used, how and when would you add/need to add oil to them? The compressor I was given is half the size of the bottle you used but the LPG tank is about 5 foot tall. Could you in theory have 5 or 10 of these fridge compressors all working together.. in theory. But what about oil etc?
Don't forget the leaf blowers and all the cars that sound like them!
Pretty cool, But------what are you doing for air filters on the compressors and more importantly, what about oil for the compressor motors and pumps? Do you know how refrigerant motors are lubricated? If you care you can look it up, but otherwise, oh-well.
Never seen anybody braze a pipe like that.. lol
You shall add safety cover for fan, and air filter for air intake. I hope if you can measure noise or show compressor voice, thanks. Also I think you can improve control to run only one compressor if no high demand
Thanks for the tips!
Super 🥰🥰
👌👍😁
@@MrDKDIY what the HP of motor compressor ???
@@rasulhasan6234 ??? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
I would have kept the condensor and turned it into a dryer/cooler. Lots of water going into that tank otherwise. Given the very high pressure these things are capable of, a small HP intermediate tank and regulator would allow you to have super dry air going into the main tank
Would you know of a video explaining what you just said?
Parabéns. Ficou muito bom. Gostei.
Inteligent 😊🤝
i saw the old parts and i came to know this is the channel for me
Good DIY video, I found it fairly easy to follow.
It looks like you used 10mm? pipe would there be an advantage in using 15mm?
Thinking it would speed the process up and give max pressure on delivery?
👍👍👍👍👍 All signed up😂
Might be an idea to put a guard on the fan especially as the blade is metal.
Great vid!
Cool concept. Don’t see it holding up to much pressure tho.
