A video review of the TIMEX MK1 Aluminum watch. Timex Item # TW2R37500VQ. This video was originally uploaded when the watch was first released. The watch is still being sold by TIMEX and the original watch in the video continues to keep superb time despite a few battle scars. Enjoy.
NEW UPDATE: practicalscout...
I love watches with a domed crystal. Looks so cool.
i've been thinking about buying a field watch for a long time, this review is so good i ended up joining the military
Thanks for this history lesson and review. I got one about an hour ago at our local watch store(brown strap, bead blasted silver case) and I was stunned, a hamilton khaki looking field watch for 50$!😲 It was an instant buy for me,and with the new found knowledge from this video of yours, this is definitely going to be a conversation piece.
I actually want to buy this watch *for* the acrylic crystal. They are much more shatter resistant than mineral and sapphire, and they can be buffed smooth again, I hear with toothpaste. Kinda cool.
I ordered the TW2R96800 because it just looks so nice and is so simple while being useful.
I really dig that design in the video too it looks very nice as well.
The MacGyver field watch used to have a sweeping seconds hands, here in the Philippines, it was sold around $30 (circa 86)...got a few of this one....though if your in a tropical country, you need to swap those straps from time to time...Thanks for the vid....it brings back memories...stay safe.
This is my all time favorite watch! Great video!!!
Excellent video, just ordered one and excited about it , now looking forward to receiving it
I love these little quartz timex watches. The scout/expedition/mk1 watches can't be beat. The only issue I have is the crown snags, and pulls out when I remove the gloves I have to wear when working in the lab which I'm employed. Sometimes I don't notice it right away and have to reset the time. Not a huge deal. I know if they just wanted start doing screw down crowns I would gladly pay $10 more for the watch... hint hint.
Keep it acrylic.
You can rub smooth the acrylic. Remember, military and adventure watches used acrylic. Rolex used to use acrylic till 1985, then went to sapphire and lost its tool status .
Thus is a tool watch.

Are this watches available in Kenya please?
Link fails
How loud is this watch? The ticking of the Timex expeditionary drove me crazy.
Poly Watch and buff it out
Great video! It's still available here in Argentina and I'm considering buying it. Is the ticking too loud? I've heard that's an issue with Timex. Thanks!
It is a little loud but is fine tbh. Just got the watch today, the black dial one with the reflective strap. The strap isnt the best but the watch is good
@@zulfiqartabassi8909 Thank you! Congrats on your new watch. I've got mine a month ago and I love it. The lume is weak, but the Indiglo is more than enough. Cheers!
What’s your wrist’s in video?
Coming in the mail!
Wish the water resistance was better.
Who goes diving with a Timex?
@@entertainme7523 you don't have to go diving to go swimming with timex. Heard of the ironman?
Oh hey!! I actually had the camper version you show in here. It was a gift from a time capsule. I recently lost it and I can’t find it anywhere and I loved it because it fitted my wrist perfectly. Do you know where I can find the features of that watch? I want to buy one about the exact same size but I don’t know what the camper was. Please help
I thought it “mark1”, not M-K1.
I love mine, even though it’s the lightest, cheapest, and noisiest watch in the collection.
Sometimes, i wanna have this brand!
Where can I buy it????
Nice watch but a little noisy the movement. I got mine for $25 stainless steel bead blasted.
great review
His mk1 does the exact same thing as mine. The seconds hand lines up almost exactly between two markers and is super annoying. As he said this has one goal in mind.. to be accurate.. can somebody explain to me how having seconds hands not lining up on every one of their watches equates to being accurate?
If you don't like it don't buy a piece of shit Timex
Open it up and straighten them boys up
Seconds hands never line up is ussual in this price range watches. For the price $ 40 dollars , the Timex is a great watch. If you like the perfection go for the Hamilton Khaki field for $ 400 dollars.
Hi, this has no effect on the timekeeping accuracy. A watchmaker could re-align the hand but it may move again, this is just result of gear tolerances.
Man, I’m always late to the party! What is the color of the face?
Timex have realised a mk1 with a stainless steel 36mm case and a mechanical movement.
Review good. Leave off the freaking music next time.
I own one. Great retro-modern piece. However, the painted case and the plexiglass means you have to "baby it" which kinda kills the whole war front watch theme.
Damn..the mk1 is pricey, I bought the milspec mechanical watch back in the 80s at a drug store for 14.99
Then adjust for inflation.
Price might be close.
Remember, a 1 oz gold coin was worth $250 greenbacks (now it's close to $1,500 maybe higher).
Puedo saber el precio y si lo puedo encontrar aquí en,El Salvador o hay qué pedirlo me pueden dar la información

Stallone escape plan luminox watch
what happen to the crystal on the end?
Minor scratch on the crystal wearing it to do maintenance on the car. This watch is still going strong after about 4 years of hard use. Crystal still holding and watchband. I do love this watch. I have also learned to appreciate how light it is.
@@videocreations546 i bought it recently the mk 1 and weekender they are both cool
@@videocreations546 hey how is the actual quality of the case? How does it feel?
I will say just getting thisxwatch and it feels so cheap it's not funny. The metal feels like plastic idk how they did that
