She just turned that concert into a Baptist church service. I LOVE IT!!!
As a vocal coach of over 30 years, I agree with the comments. She may have been the best vocalists we’ve known. The aesthetic beauty of her tone, her stylistic choices, incredible ability to sing to every person in the audience. And she was proud to be an American. I miss her every day.
@@pkramer123 is my statement incorrect? Do you have any kind of proof that Miss Houston was indeed not proud to be an American? I am an American citizen, and somehow “America“ is not doing whatever you are referring to to me. Is America doing something to you? I see people making shitty choices. I see politics and media making every attempt to divide people so that they are easier to control and manipulate. I look forward to your thoughtful and well reasoned response.
Would love to listen and learn from your wisdom, @pkramer123. No worries, but I think we could all benefit by learning about what “America“ is doing to everything and everyone. That is quite a statement. It deserves discourse.
Im amazed by her pitch and how she effortlessly modulates. He vibrato, tone, head voice… truly amazing 😍
Whitney is to me the greatest female vocalist And I can honestly say Not in my lifetime and many lifetimes ahead we will never experience a Whitney Houston and that voice like her Whitney literally turn our national anthem into a Billboard number one hit single And she didn't even know how that happened Her rendition of the star-spangled banner was so incredible that the radio stations kept playing it and playing it and that's how it turned into a Billboard hit . As of 2024 she is still the most awarded female music artist in history with over 500 awards selling over 220 million albums Her body guards soundtrack which is not even a full album it's a soundtrack is the biggest and best selling female album of all time off of that album her single of I will always love you is the biggest and best selling physical single by a female artist in music history that album went 18xplatinum And still she's the only female artist and artist in history of music to have 7 consecutive number one albums and singles.
This is the 1st time I'm hearing her sing this song & she is my favorite performer of the star spangled banner. My HS played her rendition every day after the pledge of allegiance. It brought me to tears ea day & filled w pride in my country. God blessed her w an amazing voice
We should thank God - he allowed us to hear Whitney voice.
agreed. She was magnificent.
@@maggiemconnor I hope she an I makes it to heaven.
Well, I'm waiting.
@@smoodcruz I do too Live, I do too.
I agreee! You are right! She was the goat !
This is the America that i grew up with! We had our differences but nearly all Americans lived this country, regardless of their color or background!! Whitney could bring people together like no other!!!
well nowadays america has MAGA stupidos instead..., is it better?? As a French I can tell you my country not doing better.., Sad story indeed...😪
Regarding Ms. Houston's shortcomings, "If anyone of you is without sin, let him cast the first stone...." Jn. 8:7.
Couldn't say it better
Amen
Amen
Linda Maddox, Amen
There is casting stones and there’s objective analysis.
Love isn’t about only accepting people for the way they are.
If someone you love is doing evil it’s ok to say I love you but I can’t accept what you are doing and I can’t be around you or support you.
Whitney was an American National Treasure.
National Treasures are not addicts who die by OD.
I want this America back. 🇺🇸
Such a beautiful voice and woman. This was America. So many people don't even realize what we've lost.
There will never be another WHITNEY EVER
This is exactly how I like to remember her.
Me too
Rachel Tania me too

Shortcomings? A 5 octave range, supermodel looks, and a heart of gold; she's one of America's best.🇺🇸
She only had three octaves.
@@lordvoldemort5725 She had 5 like Mariah Carey, Joni Mitchell, Celine Dion and a few others; possibly Julie Andrews. Don't be dittzin' my Whitney, Lord.
@@Lucia-sy7le I’m a huge Whitney fan, she did not have 5. If she had five, then please tell me what the range was. From lowest to highest.
@@Lucia-sy7le Celine doesn’t have five either, she has about 3 and 6 semitones, something like that.
@@lordvoldemort5725 Well, Whitney for sure doesn't even have one now. She be dead. So is her only daughter. What a 💔. Double wammy. Her rendition of the National Anthem from 1990 is surreal. Lady had a lot of heart and soul.
This woman could sing the ABC's and have the crowd mesmerized. I love me some Whitney.

YES! I think that she could have made a number one hit out of singing the phone book. A wonderful light extinguished way too soon.
Just as Regal as she wants to be. Beautiful Super model with an extraordinary voice
Pattie Labelle said it best.... "Whitney Houston is the 8th wonder of the world."
no - that was Andre The Giant....
lina gilbeau YES!!!!!
No she don't...she just the best from the best!! No one compare her if you are talking about Live Performance. She have all: Power, Soul, Control, Range, Improve (best ever), Character, Natural, Elegance, Charisma, Fashionable, and bla bla bla. No Celine, No Mariah, Just Whitney!!
Rouli Panjaitan Thank You R
EXACTLY!
Its sad to think many people will only remember Whitney by her struggles. Everyone has their demons and Whitney Houston was no exception! She was an outstanding woman and phenomenal singer! RIP
True. Hers were just public because of her position.
+Shadow gilmore Please! Only haters will remember her for that crack habit of hers.... People with a brain will remember her for the truth: A very vocally gifted individual whom made bad decisions and had demons, period. She was one of the greatest singers the industry will ever see.
She was not on crack! I hate liters like you!!! Coke is not crack!!!!!
So true, I heard some folks only speaks of her dull days.. She was such a blessing..
Well said.....
We need to broadcast this nationally ...our country NEEDS this right now.
I agree
Back when it was okay for people of all colors to love their country together. I miss that time.
In the words of the late and great Whitney Houston "What we feel here tonight will never, ever be lost."
Man, I was thinking the same thing. Everyone singing, dancing and waving the American flag. Oh, how times have changed.
Me Too
thinking the same thing. What a dark time we are in
I can't help sensing there's some shade thrown in there, but I'd have to do some research and contemplation. Are you saying only SOME (or one) "colors" love the US nowadays? And if so, I'm sure you've got a theory as to why. Care to share?
She had the voice of an angel, the best female voice EVER
Lucky G-d. He gets to hear her everyday
After shakira
Whitney has the best voice - that graced the earth
Love to hear Whitney sing but my favorite is Donna Summers. I think when it comes to projection Donna has the most powerful voice with Whitney a very close 2nd. Personal choice
Right after Karen Carpenter of course!
How is it that every song she has sung it sounds as if she wrote it. She had this incredible gift of " owning " a song, making it unique and giving it a new life. I have never heard another singer be able to do that. Whitney, why did you have to be so damn good?!? I miss your gift..
Love You Whitney Forever USA#1
It's discusting how she did this song.
@@tsb2752 wtf are you crazy

Wow!! Close caption don't want anyone to hear the name of GOD MENTIONED. WELL GLORY TO GOD , who gave this beautiful woman such a awesome voice.
Proof that Whitney could sing absolutely any song and make it amazing.
That’s right 👍
Sure… but this isn’t “any song…”
@@KH-fd1vg most professional singers say it's a very difficult song to sing
She did start as a gospel singer
Sorry, but the song is amazing, Whitney, Elvis, or whoever sings it.
this is the best version of this song that i have heard
hell yes. heard the song millions of times during my several years in the Army's Engineer Corps (the Engineer song is a, well, "raunchier" version, with more beer and less hallelujah). Now, i have to admit that i listen to mainly rock or metal or what have you, but i grew up hearing whitney's voice all the time as my mom loved her. she put so much soul into everything, this song included. future generations will barely have an inkling as to what amazing talent and beauty, even as troubled as she was at times, they are going to miss out on. RIP, Ms Houston.
Army? Who are they?
adam costello lol the US Army, dude. Now, I know that the Battle Hymn of the Republic is not solely an American song--it famously was one of Sir Winston Churchill's songs--but it has a long history with all the branches of the US military. The US Army's Airborne Corps has their own version called "Blood Upon the Risers," for instance: look it up, there's quite a few versions of Blood Upon the Risers on UA-cam.
Judy Garland's was better!!!!! Judy was THE BEST SINGER EVER!!!!!
George Long unpopular opinion she lacked soul 🤷🏽♂️
Once you've heard Whitney Houston you have herd the best our world has ever seen!
I agree! Best singer that graced the earth
Amen
Thank god for UA-cam 🙏🏽because I wasn’t alive around her prime but she’s my favorite artist of all time❤the only artist I’m fanned out over
Whitney had the ability to make a non-believer a believer. No other woman performer could ever do that!
Only God can change the heart; salvation is of the Lord! Man has NO PART in his salvation. Ever biblical transformation is of the Lord; NEVER someone saving themselves or having a part in it.
Vocal perfection. A God given gift.
Derek Jones Yes, I"m sorry she is not here anymore.
Even her speaking voice was beautiful.
+Gina Sebastian Yeah, it just gets sadder to watch this as time goes by.
+MrOnomatopoiea true
MrOmegaBeams
I understand. but nothing will ever detract from the voice that was. I delight in watching ms houston at full vocal capacity
Love how she sings it like a gospel number! It doesn't get any better than this rendition!
She does and from her heart. I didn't see anyone standing still, being offended, and thinking up ways of reporting her for being a offence to the Armed Forces for mentioning the 'Lord'.
This gospel version is the only version i know. This is how its been sung in the black churches for ages. Thats where she learned to sing it like this.
It is Gospel. Listen to the lyrics.
But It is a gospel song....?
Whitney could sing "If the South Would've won...." and have the entire World jamming
And The Church Said: AMEN.
You'll never see another one like Whitney Houston, not in this lifetime.
Voice was phenomenal!
Maybe she'll be singing with her angel voice in heaven. Glory, Glory Hallelujah!❤
My eyes are filling with tears! I'm sad for our lost nation and I'm sad for the loss of this talented child of GOD. Curse drugs!!!!!
and curse Bobby Brown!
Gary Webb well said.
He surley beated her& treated her as nothing. He contributed to her demise bc she loved him,yet he envied her, used her&brought her down as much as possible.
Amen 🇺🇲🙏🙏❤️🩹💯🎯
This is how I prefer to remember Whitney. As an angel. Singing the hymn of the soldiers, marines, and sailors of our wonderful, miracle of a country. Glory, glory!
Took the words out of my mouth!
WoolyBeetle you Stupid.
RIP Whitney Houston and thank you for sharing this song with America 🇺🇸 again to reunite our country.
WHITNEY definitely the epitome of a God given talent.
For those unaware, Whitney Houston began her vocal career in her local church choir. She amazed all with her phenomenal gospel technique, something she was able to transfer successfully to her secular music (much like Elvis Presley). I think this outstanding performance is one of her best - and that's saying something!
In her heart she loved Jesus. No way she could have belted it out like that if not. That song came straight from her soul to the Lord.
I wish she had just continued to sing only for the Lord. Maybe she'd still be here :-(
Wow! You're a hater...too bad for you.
Wow!
@Snaggle Toothed One second after your last breath you will know...
God bless America in the Powerful Name of the Lord Jesus Christ!
AMEN!
God fix our broken nation. Amen
LePaien dotDE God bless you too, in the name of the Lord of lords, Jesus Christ. Amen!
Amen to that!!It's no secret what God can do.
idiot
As a 6 yr US Army Veteran 68-74, I will never get tired of this song!!!
I know it shouldn't diminish from her talent -- but she was impossibly beautiful and charismatic.
She had the most beautiful voice of any singer.....EVER! RIP Whitney. I know none of us is perfect, and Whitney had her challenges but we have a perfect Savior, Jesus and he takes us as we are and makes us "white as snow"! Thank you Jesus!
Beautifully said
+Ruth Lautzenheiser It occurs to me how the lyrical content of this hymn would prevent its performance in most venues. I love whitney, but on behalf of Judy Garland and Karen Carpenter I take issue with the first statement of your comment :P
+Christopher Johnson It's just my opinion. She had incredible control of her voice. Judy and Karen were very good also but in my opinion, nobody comes close to Whitney. :)
+Ruth Lautzenheiser Agreed!!!
+Ruth Lautzenheiser Amen!
She was so beautiful and talented.

And brilliant delivery. When she was good ... nobody did it better.
Right along with Steisand and Dion
Very powerful voice one other female entertainer has a voice even more powerful goes by the name Donna Summers

What a gift Whitney gave these soldiers at that concert. Many years ago she and her mother were guest singers at a church my mother attended in New York, when she was a young girl. My Mom came home and told me about these two amazing voices that she couldn't get over.
Damn I miss this girl!!!
She's leading the angels in song right now. God bless her. RIP Whitney.
