Commonly known as ABC market to the locals.. this place was built in the 70s and recently renovated during civid year of 2021. It's named ABC after the Archipelago Brewery Company that used to be an icon here at Bukit Merah. There were also lots of BRICKWORKS company near the vincity. For years.. this ABC market has almost become a national institute of culinary delights.. you can find almost all of singapore's heritage dishes here.. so come with me and explore what's there to eat in 2023

back to your usual gastronomic best.. for a moment I thought you were going to eat the chicken cutlet too until you said takeaway... pity the Bao Zai not open, its nice. Saw a glimpse of the Nanyang Coffee there... nice too.
Pineapple drink is my favourite cold beverage, the Western food looks amazing and such huge portions too!
Back in top form, Piggy! As I have said before, the way you dance between sound-track, interview, savouring the food and zooming in on the cooking is sensational. Keep dancing mate.

Hope I managed to potray my flip flop hawker centre meanderings well.. usually leisurely and aimlessly.. but with the filming.. it kinda took away some of the previous casual joy I used to have 🥺.. I must continue my quest.. all these pioneer hawkers must not fade away without being documented.. even if it's a few mins

Yup, I have massive respect for these hawkers! I am so thankful for people like KF Seetoh for preserving hawker heritage!
@@malcolmkoh7602 Seetoh, Leslie Tay (although he's gone a bit corporate lately), Greg Leow - and not least our host for these videos - are all supporters of hawker culture. I've been eating hawker food for around 20 years now and have seen quite a few of the stallholders I've got to know over the years retire. Sadly, some of them have passed away already and some of the stalls they ran are no more. I suppose it's one of the aspects of life in Singapore that will pass into memory eventually, and the country will be all the poorer for it - I hope it doesn't happen in my lifetime because I just live for my 2 weeks' eating holidays over there.

These stalls with so many childhood foodie is going to be gone soon. Unless the younger generation can tolerate the hard work & carry-on these dishes to the future.

Won tan noodle used to be 1.50 b4 lhl took office. Now? Laksa was good, now? Diluted gravy
