I've always believed he IS Eru Ilúvatar's avatar on earth. He always knows fate and the very nature of things. He's unbothered and seems to know things to come. As if he knows "god's plan". I believe he IS Eru
considering tolkien was a soldier in ww1, maybe Bombadil is his ideal figure. Writing him, how he wants to be, or what he would want the world to be like. Unphased by evil or power. Bombadil represents freedom and peace and maybe tolkien wants to show the need for that, by making this character so unique and different.
Can he even leave his home and Goldberry? Tolkien never says whether or not his powers work in other parts of Middle Earth. When he made the ring disappear, Frodo shouldn't have asked for it back because it was essentially gone.
I'm not certain that Sauron could have overcome Bombadil in the end. Just because a character asserts something in a story, it does not make it necessarily true. That's what the characters believed to be true, but the truth is left undetermined, in my opinion. In any case, I believe Bombadil would have refused to take the ring. It was not his domain, not his responsibility. Thanks for the video!
Absolutely! Bombadil’s power is so unique-almost like he’s on his own wavelength, separate from Sauron’s whole game. I agree he’d probably refuse the Ring; it’s simply not his concern. His strength lies in that unshakable connection to his realm, where he’s content without meddling beyond it. And giving Merry the sword that helped defeat the Witch-king? Classic Bombadil! Subtle, but essential, showing that even without direct confrontation, he played a role in Sauron’s downfall. Thanks very much for your support my friend!! Hope you enjoy!
Saving the Hobbits from Old Man Willow and the barrow Wight is a definite involvement in the story, and the conflict against Sauron. he also provided Merry with the sword that destroyed the Witch King. In his realm, he did very well. A lesson I would like to emulate.
I like this, the vibe of the video is awesome, but the script is very repetitive. You say the same thing a bunch of times with slightly different words.
I have a difficult time falling for the idea that Gandalf and Elrond don't have any true understanding of Bombadil yet somehow are cable of of determining the nature or scope of his power. I don't think Sauron would allow Bombadil to exist in middle earth unscathed if he had the power to eliminate him. However even when Sauron has the one he makes no move against Bombadil.
@@TalesOfTheRing Perhaps. I always remember two things about Bambadil. 1. He says he was there before the dark lord came from outside. He was referring to Melkor. And we know Melkir arrived in Arda way before Walar. 2. He brought Merey, Sam, and Puppen back from death at the barrow downs. No one else has that kind of power in middle earth
The absolute best JRR Tolkien/Middle Earth/LoTR/Hobbit channel on youtube. How this doesnt have millions of subs in insanity to me
May God listen to me and allow me to get there one day. Thank you my friend!
💚💖
Thank you. I do my very best.

I like to think that perhaps he is the very personification of Tolkien within the universe. Kinda stupid example, but like Chucky in Supernatural.
Been thinking the same thing
He's the Yoda of middle earth, forever a mystery. Whatever he is, I think he's the only one of his kind.
Hahaha, that is a really good pov. He is also like the Dungeon Master. Allways in the right place

Perhaps he is such a pure being, with an unshakable nature, that he ends up being immune to any type of darkness in the universe.
Oh my goodness I just fell in love with your channel. Please please keep it up, keep posting new videos you’re amazing amazing

Maybe he lives within his "Domain Expansion"

Tom did not "defy" anything. He simply did not engage. He had other priorities. Though arming the hobbits was a big deal

hank you my friend. In the newer videos I tried to improve this issue of repetitions, I hope you like them.

Perhaps it follows the concept that a being is so powerful that its power cannot be felt by inferior others. (Like Aizen in Bleach)

So he’s the Protogenos- the Eternal Adam
The One beyond all

He’s Mother Nature in physical form 🤷🏻♂️
I think bombidill is a valar or som kind of god
He is a very curious one
He’s Yoda, Buddha, Christ
Father nature, the physical embodiment of arda the spirit in flesh.
Allways in the right place!
Tell me Jack Black wouldn’t have made a great Tom in the new series go ahead say it !!!
