FYI, at the end @35:40, Jessica Burbank saying she is a contract and part-time worker, thereby doesn't need to pay union dues...She is a modern era scab!!! Jessica Burbank is the living embodiment of hypocrisy!! But she refutes that argument because she claims anyone pointing out that hypocrisy is "uneducated" like herself, then attempts to reword the argument to deflect the problems with her narrative and position.
That is not how things work, that is not how you have any sort of debate when you outright reject any fault/liability and consider any attempts at pointing it out as being of misleading nature. That is when Jessica Burbank rejects the problem outright, denies how the problem is worded, "revises" the narrative to better suit her needs, to project and deflect her short comings and hypocrisy, because her conceited selfish position (and utter entitled nature) is abhorrent to begin with and she knows as much!! If she didn't, she wouldn't spend so much time trying to pivot and bring the discussion another route.
In her own words, the hypocrisy being so palpable, she has explained the modern equivalent to what a scab is today and how she currently works as a scab in order to lessen any of the full-time workers at TYT's ability to unionize because she and other contract and part time workers stand in their way!!! Jessica Burbank is doing exactly that which she condemns, but seeing how she is doing it somehow, it's morally tolerable...Because she's "educated."
She has proven her own hypocrisy with her current position, being a "part time worker" and "contract worker," which is literally a scab. Part time so TYT does not have to pay her medical, any additions to her 401k, she has said scabs shouldn't be allowed while she is literally the modern era scab. Jessica Burbank proves to be the problem she is fighting against, yet her comfort matters more to her than her own agenda, it's hypocritical beyond words!!

Collected their dues out of my $1.69 minimum wage and that was about it. 12 years in the IBEW via Local 11 in Los Angeles, and except that they kept trying to coerce my into phone banks for Dems and what they called "Salting" jobs which I find disgusting, well, other than that the union was great. Good school for my apprenticeship. Bunch of great, hard working guys. Not a lot of protectionism going on. Moved to Oklahoma, and the Local here never told me the truth about anything, Said they had 35% of the work in OKC when they had like 3%. I would have stayed in LA and retired early, then moved had they not lied. They also told me to get my state license here I had to be employed and sponsored by a contractor. The truth was all I needed was to prove my schooling and hours from LA and pay the test fee. I finished out my years non union with a great company for the last 7.

@@joecollas9942 I can see where working in a union in some industries can be good, and I can also see how those unions are bad for the rest of us. Teacher's unions, for example. Great for teachers. Terrible for society. Carpentry unions? Good for workers, but also motivates a sense of complacency and poor work ethic. Personally I'd rather work for myself. If everyone was in a union, I feel like it would stifle production and it would stifle achievement. If you kind of just want to exist on the job and be hard to fire, and get your paycheck, but not want to move up in the ranks, then you might as well get a union job.

When I heard the term 'Nickelback' for the first time I remember looking it up and thinking how patronising it was.
      For those that don't know;
A person that lives in modest conditions that votes for a right wing party because they identify them as ass kickers, traditionalists and patriotic... even though it is most likely detrimental to their personal finances.
The irony of this had me burst out in laughter. Where I live in the UK if you were on minimum or low wages($1-25K) , you kept FORTY PERCENT more of your wages than under the labour (left) party. You still got 90% of your benefits and 82% of public services.
The tax free base(so how much of your earnings you pay zero tax on) went up from £5600($7000) under Labour to £12,500($14,800) under the Conservatives and the income tax was dropped by 7%. The bands for tax were also raised, meanung those on lower to middle incomes paid a boat load less income tax. 95% of people STILL have no idea about this.

Her own argument that somebody automatically benefits because the union is already there isn't necessarily the case. Somebody might be extremely talented and be hired for less money than they would normally be hired for had a union non-existent because so many other people are getting a salary they don't deserve because of the union. Also the fact somebody might be more interested in salary rather than things like a month's vacation or healthcare things of this nature. So for hug to clean that the situation is automatically better for a new employee because the union exist that's not necessarily true.

And lastly, she is a blatant hypocrite too!! She claims people must pay dues to unions in any collective work and employment, that all work must be unionized where the employees have no right to deny paying dues to said union...But she is a contract worker, a part-time worker right now as she admits, which is her literally in a position of a modern era "scab," denying the full-time workers at TYT the ability to collectivize themselves as her employment is exactly that which she is arguing against and claims should not be allowed!! She currently is in the way of her own ideology, enjoying a position of comfort at the expense of the full-time workers who were refused their ability to unionize because of modern era "scabs" like herself, and she cannot see how she is the problem here in her own arguments proving herself a hypocrite!!

Yes, and she literally embodies what the modern era "scab" is today too!! By being a contract worker, a part-time worker, she is the one not paying dues and denying the full-time employees at TYT the ability and means to collectivize, to unionize, yet she is the one claiming such positions are immoral and should not be allowed while currently operating from said position!!
She literally deflects herself being the problem when she is currently in a position that she is arguing against with Styx, because she is allegedly "educated," because she cannot see herself being in the wrong, because she thinks she is morally correct "by any means necessary," and anyone pointing her hypocritical stance (and current employment being that which she claims to be combatting) and being the very embodiment of that which she claims should not be allowed with society and their right to refuse to pay dues to a union, somehow, they are in the wrong for pointing out her own hypocrisy.
You point out her hypocrisy and she'll just outright refuse the narrative, because she knows full well how her narrative will be decimated by her own comforts being ousted, claim the wording is wrong and then pivot the conversation another route that benefits her narrative. It's not only how you NOT handle a discussion, but also immoral if not laughable for her to push these issues while currently being everything she claims to combat.

Yes, while currently harboring employment that she is arguing against with Styx, proving her hypocritical position to begin with!! She is a contract worker, part-time employment, claiming she doesn't need to pay dues by denying the full-time workers their ability to collectivize or be replaced by more employees like herself instead, denying the full-time employees at TYT the ability and means to unionize themselves because she is the modern era version of a scab!!!
While she claims to be "educated," she is not smart enough to picture how she is the one in the wrong here, defying the positions she is making in this conversation by currently residing in employment she deems unacceptable, and proving she doesn't believe a word she's espousing by doing that which she claims to combat! Who knew "educated" is no different than "hypocritical" in today's reality, where somehow our society has let Communists continue to redefine and revise words and present era issues so that nobody can ever hold them accountable or liable for their errors, short-comings, short sighted failures and blatant evil!
Government agitprop isn't even as bad as her outlook on life, then again, she is the byproduct and product of propagandists in the higher educational departments privatized DOE, she is more cultist than intellectual!!!
She currently resides in a position she is saying should not exist or be allowed by any collectivized work, yet claims her position is somehow acceptable simply because she is "educated." More like "brainwashed," or maybe "indoctrinated," she cannot see how her own reality defies her own agenda as of right now!! Then again, you point it out and she'll just refuse the narrative outright, because what's better than being able to argue points while having the ability to claim any and all criticism being the byproduct of the "uneducated" or "worded wrong" to deflect all problems with her narrative. She is daft, void of empathy, and proves her own narrative false by currently operating as a modern era scab to destroy the hopes of TYT full-time employees to unionize, seeing how TYT hires scabs like her to combat said union and she cannot fathom being the very same thing she is trying to argue against!!

To be fair, there are times where someone else might know what would be better for you, than you yourself.
Not everyone is as capable of understanding their own experiences, as funny as that might sound, because many people will experience the same phenomenons differently than each other, be it an alternative interpretation, or a lack of understanding as a whole.
It's why if I whip two people, one might wince in pain, the other might not even know how he's supposed to respond, maybe even enjoys it.
Or maybe, if I'm putting a policy on exports to a country, which affects two farmers, one might break down and start crying knowing it could end his business, while the other might not know what the policy means because he's never experienced this before.
It's situational, some circumstances may lead to you being unaware of what greater potential you can unlock, and it requires an outside influence with a vision that has your well being in consideration.
But that said, the outside influence NEEDS your well-being in consideration if it's going to offer you something you didn't know you needed, otherwise it could very well just be fooling you into thinking you need its help, so that you may grow dependant on it, and and be left vulnerable for it to exploit you.
And the thing about most communists is, much like some aristocrats, they need a class to exploit to further their own goals. But most won't ever do things on their own, for they lack the will and the bravery for it, unless they knew they could get away with it. Present people with a scapegoat, and there's your revolution. And most communists require constant revolutions, until they "get it right". Which is never. Because it's simply an endless shift in power

Yep, my problem was being a white male in an era of affirmative action and "equity." I carried a 4.12 GPA by perfect scores and extra classes in the morning, perfect A's across the board outside one B in Orchestra from being too busy doing my pleadings for scholarships to countless colleges, which my teacher dinged me for even though I was lead Cellist and could play much better than all the others. I received one response from a college, and they did a hard pass on me first glance. All I received was a 500 dollar grant from the government from my grades alone and took on subsidized loans. I was a black belt in martial arts, brown belt in ju-jitsu, one of the leaders in track and field and also did basketball in the winter. I was a top pick candidate for any college, top 5% of my class, and somehow, I was denied for all scholarships still and outright refused by countless colleges I reached out to for any semblance of hope.
I went to the local university which was a waste of my time and money, 9/11 happened and I joined up in a heartbeat to serve my nation in a time of duress, I went to war and came back broken but that is another story. I then received a free education from that point on, but I still quit prior to my Associates Degree because of just how appalling these colleges were and I was done with them. You let Feminism fester and you get colleges that are nothing but utter garbage and any hopes of a degree from said college met with disdain most likely, and I can see why.
I was sick and tired of listening to my Psychology professor talking about her sexcapades with all the male students she could seduce at the college bars, as she spent her nights going to college bars picking up other professors' students where these lady professors at multiple colleges in the city kept running tabs for who slept with more students for some type of bet. My digital design for 2D, graphics design classes, me playing around with those in high school afforded me some type of understanding that was better than the professor teaching us, everything she taught was so mundane and basic I had no idea how I was paying for such idiocy. I spent half my time in 2D and GD teaching my professor too, them coming to me and asking how I was able to do this and that countless times. College was horrible, outside the fraternity I joined which harbored a semblance of hope for future prospects, and somehow, I was being succumbed to debt for such idiot level education that I knew in 10th grade, which I then went back to with the GI Bill and still saw the same issues and simply stopped playing the game out of disgust.

As someone that worked for over a decade in the infamous International Brotherhood of Teamsters, I can say that Jessica has a highly idealized vision of what unions are like. Trade unions are often much better than unions like the IBT. Big unions like the IBT exist only to preserve the union, not the workers that are in the union aka their "brothers". They make their money from negotiating contracts and collecting dues. Anything else is an expense for them. They have an interest in keeping the employer happy so they can continue to negotiate contracts and collect dues. They often give big carve outs to the employer, such as the contract forcing workers to answer the phone if the company calls them asking for them to work overtime, complete with penalties for not answer their calls. They set up contracts where the company can force workers to stay for 4 to 8 hours on top of already having worked 8 hours, with a stipulation that the worker must get at least 8 hours off in any 24 hour day. So while you might get a job at a union plant, you might be walking into a trap where the union contract says, nope if the company wants to, you have to 16 hours. That's getting to be more common these days as labor participation has steadily declined. So a new person coming into a union plant, I can see why some don't want to give a chunk of their check to a union that gives preferential treatment to those with tons of seniority, punishing new hires with 4 to 8 hours of overtime every day because the senior employees don't want to work a second of overtime. The union's rep will tell that new hire to pound sand because they're "at the bottom of the totem pole" and the contract says the company can do what it wants to fill over time.

I do know over my existence on this planet how easily corruptible those in charge of these unions can be and become, and how easily exploited and extorted they are and to push a net loss and detriment to the workers to save their own skin, or to personally profit from the position they've been garnered. At first unions usually are great for the workers, but after a short duration of time those unions become corrupt to their cores.
I know of two unions that do the opposite of what their workers desire, one wanted shorter vacations for increase in pay and they received the opposite, the other had the workers wanting their union to support Trump and they instead took their collective dues and funded Hillary Clinton instead. There are mainly the small things that matter too, and after some time these unions pick away at the small things until the workers are demoralized fully. This is not about the "educated" or "uneducated," this is about unions being good for a short term mostly, and that such intent is easily swayed.
Also, she is the modern era version of a "scab," her comfort matters more to her than any ideology she pushes as she does exactly that which she claims should not exist. She works for TYT, as a part-time employee, a contract worker, she denies the full-time workers at TYT the ability and means of collectivizing and form a union by threat of more of herself being hired on as "scabs" in their stead. She does that which she claims to combat, she is the embodiment of "hypocrisy!!" And you point that out, she will claim you "uneducated" or simply deny the argument because she knows she has no excuse or answer to combat her blatant failings in thought. So, she denies all faults, gives them no meaning, anyone pointing out how horribly wrong she is will just be met with her arrogant ignorance saying "you are not educated enough to understand the nuance of these matters..." She is the modern era "scab," also she's immoral if not evil.

And yes, I think America should have Labor Unions *WHO ARE MEANT TO ENSURE THE PEOPLE WHO WORK HARD GET TO ENJOY THE FRUITS OF THEIR LABOR!* But not all Unions should fight for equal however. For example, a person who works real hard in a coal mine, a quarry, oil rig, ETC. I know multiple unions that fund Democrat candidates when the majority of the workers paying their salaries do all the work and want the other candidate to be funded. Unions have become the bane to most employment, and to combat that corruption the workers should have the ability to refuse continuing to pay for those in control of said union and to refute them from continuing to leech off their hard-earned money they have accumulated and are using against the interests of the workers.

I spent some time working at a unionized grocery store. It was a store that started off non-Union, but ended up unionizing later on, so I was forced to join to keep my job.
My pay? Didn’t increase. But I did get to pay union dues. Worse yet, some employees wouldn’t join the union, so they brought in new union workers from other stores to backfill the vacancies at my store. Some of them were the absolute worst. One in particular stood out; we worked the front end and she refused to do any task besides working the register. No bagging, no cart retrieval, no trash removal or clean up. Working with her was torture since she’d spend the entire time complaining about management and how they’re always trying to screw her (like once in a 4 hour shift, she wasn’t set free for her legally mandatory 15 minute break, she immediately assumed they were out to get her and not, you know, the front end manager at that moment being swamped with work and forgetting to free her up to go on break).
They were finally able to fire her because she once claimed that she had a flower allergy in order to get out of helping in the floral department, only to go into it to shop for flowers just a week later (with the manager whom she made that excuse to being at work at that time).
After awhile, the union got kicked out and things improved dramatically.

      Neoliberalism
In the early 1970s, a group of democrats and republicans formed a whole new type of American conservatism and social engineering and that type of engineering has been coined, neoliberalism. The concept of neoliberalism formed out of laissez faire economics and evolved into something much worse in post ww2 europe. In an autopsy report on German industries that put all their hope into hitlers government to protect them, the western business leaders came to the conclusion that since they are already the masters of industry they might as well be entitled to managing governments and propaganda as well. The mission objective of neoliberalism in america was an ambitious one and can be confirmed by reading the powell memo from 1971 but much of what I have written here came during the Reagan administration. The plan:
      1) talk the fortune 500 companies into pitching 10% of quarterly earnings into buying off all the American politicians of both parties, all government officials in every agency, all the media outlets and the anchors they pay and all the judges and courts.
2)pay the media to stop criticizing the private sector so car manufacturers can ship all jobs overseas and effectively turn America into a service economy instead of a production economy.
3)Pay government / cia to plan coups in oil rich nations so that an American / British oil oligopoly can control production / price of all global oil.
4)Pay the politicians of both parties to never pass working class legislation and only pass corporate laws and gerrymander districts so the corporate candidates always win.
5)Pay the courts and judges to hurt enemies and protect corporations.
6)social engineer wedge issues. the main objective here is a way to drive a wedge straight through the working class and get half of them to vote pro corporate without even realizing it, the Republican Party is built to constantly pass corporate law. (All mainstream media including msnbc steer viewers to the center right, all social media is also meant to attract left leaning people and steer them to the right. Fox is the status quo, it keeps all republican voters from becoming too anti establishment while making their audience feel like a counter culture. The Democratic Party is historically for working class so when democrats win majority, the donors can only pay them to create “do nothing caucuses” and that’s exactly what they do. If dems were paid to pass corporate laws like republicans, they would face uncertain primaries much like Kristen sinema.)
7)platform evangelicals to get Christians to ignore pro abortion biblical texts (numbers 5 11 22) and become anti abortionist cafeteria Christians so they vote Republican.
8)Adopt a southern strategy that gives a black welfare queen scapegoat to all the southerners that used to vote democrat before the civil rights movement so they now vote Republican.
9)establish trickle down economics so that all mothers and housewives in lower and middle class households have to enter the workforce and much like abortion, feminism can become a huge wedge issue that helps more American vote republican, while at the same time the low labor market value will benefit the owners. (ironically enough, it was Reagan and the “conservatives” that promoted the nuclear family but ultimately pushed through these anti family policies with reaganomics and forced all low skilled conservative mothers and housewives into the workforce, it was not a surprise that crime exploded because no parents were at home anymore)
10)implement financialization: deregulate wallstreet to the point where corporations and the oligarchs that own them will never lose power. have the fed quantitatively ease gambling losses of those oligarchs and corporations so they never financially lose by printing more money.
11)Never allow competition in the market or an end to planned obsolescence by merging in new and successful companies into existing conglomerates that essentially function as oligopolies.
12)Make sure only laborers are taxed and never shareholders and owners.
13)when quantitative easement causes the inflation rate and interest rates to rise, sacrifice labor by laying off millions of corporate workers and kick them out of economy so they stop spending and it will ease interest rates and borrowing for corporations will become affordable again and gambling and quantitative easement can continue.
14)make certain lower class families never organize worker cooperatives and become financially independent of employers and government by simply adding a few positions to college campuses and firing leftist economic professors. Blacklist anyone from media that promotes worker cooperatives and make sure the narrative is always off economics and on trans people turning children trans or something and if economics are the topic make sure it’s capitalism vs the Soviet planned economy or capitalism vs social welfare programs and never capitalism vs worker cooperatives.
After reading the memo, nixon made powell a Supreme Court justice just two weeks later. There were a few snags in this plan though, in 1973, Nixon and the neoliberal front which by this point probably included the cia, had access to opposition research on republican politicians that would never accept dark money so they could defeat them in primaries in 74 but they didn’t have any research on dems and had to break into offices to retrieve them. This came to be known as the watergate scandal. Carter getting elected in 76 also slowed down the movement. In 79, the neolibs and cia got the Iranian hostages(something caused by one of those oil coups) released but they decided to keep them held by their Iranian captors for 100+ more days than they were negotiated free so that carter would be hurt in the ‘80 election. Reagan was elected and was far more successful than nixon at implementing powells plan. Today we are living in powells neoliberal america where the donor class wants you to think they only donate to one party but even trump has admitted to donating to democrats because the system is entirely corrupt.
The post 80s neoliberal infrastructure mostly works by main stream media making dem voters think everything is gops fault and republican voters think everything is dems fault. It’s called divide and conquer. There’s no such thing as Republican and democratic fighting, theres just one group that has both parties in their pocket. If there are any policies in this country you do not like, blame the people that own the politicians and courts and media and government. They are the fortune 88. They are an oligarchy. The oligarchy’s main motivation is to keep ALEC going as much as possible. ALEC is a corporate think tank that passes corporate legislation. This type of legislation and social policies like anti gay or anti abortion laws actually kills local economies. the neoliberal deep state dont care about red state economies though because they live in nyc and San Francisco where those social policies don’t reach them but all the corporate laws that kill small businesses do reach them in blue states. Anyone that gets in the way of ALEC has to be removed from the equation. Donald trump can’t win general (electoral) elections anymore because his personality motivates people that don’t even vote to get registered and vote against the gop. this hurts ALEC and ALEC is all that matters to the people who actually own everything in this country. They don’t care about aborted fetuses, they’ve owned the Supreme Court for 30 years and have allowed 30 years of fetal murder and only now shot down roe only to hurt trump and maga for a few election cycles so they can retake the Republican Party which they see as there’s.

I love the fact that people think we live in a capitalism. At least since my birth the U.S. hasn't been capitalist. Everyone will cope about this but we've been a socialist society since after the great depression if not earlier. Also the fact that the government can just take your shit because taxes, parking ticket, and so on is proof you don't own anything. Hell the taxes you pay on your house every year, or how ever you have it set up, is just rent. You can say the taxes are for "good" things but as someone who grow up in the middle of now where and the tax money my father paid would have never helped up expect with school and EMS. Roads where shit, fire department wouldn't have helped us in a fire because of there distance between, cops are just useless and harassed us on our own land and private road on our property, and their wasn't public water or sewage for at least 60 miles is not farther. So taxes did and do nothing for people in that case.
Also I know this is an just my experience but every family member and friends I know that has ever had to join a union hated said union more then any boss, company, or customer they have ever worked for. A lot of my friends that were young when joining a union left what would have been a good career because of the union. They rather work anywhere else then deal with a union. Unions are nothing more then a pyramid scheme. She's right, it is along the lines of taxation is theft, I would have used extortion but theft is fine.
