I'm glad I'm not the only one who's delusional about the time it takes to complete these things. I'll stream some of the projects I'm doing and when I look at the time and see it's been like 3 hours but only the size of release papers. It's like in my head I've done so much and then when I look at the canvas as a whole I'm just like... oh. I just started one that's 60*75cm, spent 6 hours and I have a corner done lol.
😂 You are giving me Deja vu to the hook rugs my family did when I was a child. This was in rural Alaska in the late sixties, long before home video let alone computers & we didn’t even have broadcast tv where we were. With five young children to keep occupied, my mom had us doing a lot of crafts, particularly in the winter when temperatures were from -40 to -60 for weeks at a time (reading was another favorite activity but with no local library, we were on a state library ‘books by mail’ program with one box per month for all of us). So one Christmas, my mom gave us each a small 1’x3’ rectangular hooked rug to make & picked out a large 6’x8’ tiger rug to make for my dad. We kids were able to complete our rugs in varying time frames but between the room it took up to get it out to work on, health issues, & competing priorities it took my mother I don’t remember how many years (& moves!) to complete that huge tiger rug. I just returned from visiting her, though, & while our little rugs wore out over time & are all long gone - that big old tiger is still on the floor in her bedroom, 50+ years & about a dozen moves after she started it.
Just started watching you. I’ve been diamond painting for 3 years and I’ve discovered that it’s not a race. Just take your time and enjoy the process eventually it comes together ( that’s a huge diamond painting )❤❤
I'm a one diamond placer girlie too ❤ I section my diamond painting off with washi and fill in a square at a time. Diamond painting is my meditation time and I can chill out ❤😊
I'm definitely a multi-placer person. I think that's also why time spent on a canvas is relative. I look at a canvas like this and see myself going all out and finishing in 2.5 weeks, but life happens and I've taken a year to finish because things pop up. Don't ever beat yourself up over it. Just enjoy the craft.
Hi Riah I recently started watching you because of the create this book series. I just want to say your doing great. I've been diamond painting for a couple of years now & have yet to tackle a big one (mostly because of cost). I would suggest using a thicker pen Amazon/DAC have really good ones. I have a couple that have different size placers on. One with 3 one with 7. And like other people have said work your way up to bigger placers. I have to adjust some too. I have no idea how those ladys that use tweezers get them perfect. Also the actual wax pencils are better for AB then the nail ones. Again Amazon or hobby lobby. And I'm not sure if your using the wax that normally comes or if your using putty. DAC has a good putty too. Keep your head up! And remember it's supposed to something you enjoy.
Hey Riah, loving your journey with this giant kitty diamond painting and I'm excited to see you complete it! Just a suggestion, maybe you could start titling this a series? Or placing them together in a playlist. I think that will make it easier for new viewers to find the earlier videos since you will be doing other projects in between. Looking forward to more updates and video progress on this diamond painting! ❤
11:38 girl samee!! I had a drill that got stuck in my eye. I couldn't find it and just assumed it fell somewhere and hit my eye on the way there.. nope. It just stayed in my eye until 5 am the next morning when I rubbed it out lol
Wow! That is a huge diamond painting! I'm a one placer kind of gal to so I get what you are trying to say. You are brave for tackling on this project. I look fwd to seeing it complete
I feel you I don’t enjoy anything larger than a four placer and usually do 70% single placer and the rest a 3-4 placer. It may take me longer to complete my project but it’s just easier and more fun for me that way and that’s what this craft is really all about!
High key start with a four placer. Easier to master and you can move up to bigger multiplacers as you get more comfortable. I started at 4, moved up to 8, and now I use a 13 placer. Also getting a resin pen is very very helpful, and switching to a putty rather than continuing with wax. Wax can make things slip a little easier.
Thanks to you I’ve gotten back into diamond painting these last few months and I’ve completed at least four different projects! You’re one of my favorite UA-camrs girly💖
I really love your videos, you are so entertaining! Don't stress about the time it will take to finish it, the last two paintings i did both took a year to finish, because i don't have much time to diamond paint, and they were hugeee, but i can enjoy a painting longer! And I also recommend 8 placers, i know it takes a bit of time to get used to it, but it will help a lot. You don't always need to pick up 8 drills, if the next row only has 4 drills only pick up 4 from the end of line in the tray💗
I’m similar! I prefer to just single place it and be in the zone than to try to fill and place a multiplacer. I also don’t understand why there’s an issue with needing a separate tool for ab. I have all the tools, but I don’t use them for anything.
🐱you said it best -slow and steady wins the race. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Enjoy the process, it will be so beautiful when it’s done. I too have to readjust every drill after I multi place so really -what’s the point? Hang in there! ❤
Was wondering where you can get the flower magnet to hold the plastic just started doing diamond art paintings after watching your channel I love diamond painting
I’m SO happy the algorithm decided I should watch you a couple months back! Your videos are so funny, I love your personality and how real u are too! And just watching u making them helps me scratch that itch I have to get more diamond paintings when I don’t have the resources to buy new ones too lol I hope you have a great day and weekend🎉
I don’t know if you want tips but a few things that work for me is creating sections (about 10x10cm or just around a specific spot you want to do) with tape. So you don’t feel as overwhelmed because you only have to finish a small piece at a time.🐱also i only use my 7placer, It’s perfect because can still single place with it and you don’t have to turn the pen around if there is a spot where you can multiplace💗 also love DAC multiplacers because they are skinnier so you have better control of where you place! Love the video💗🐱
I personally think that multiplacers take a lot of precision and fun away. While sometimes I am in a mood to just FILL EVERYTHING AND DON’T LOOK BACK ASAP, I also sometimes need the calmness that comes from using just a one-placer.
I only use a one placer. I just never got comfortable with using the multi-placers. And there’s something I find satisfying about placing them one by one. Just go at your own pace. As long as your enjoying it that’s all that matters x
I always love Fridays so I can watch your new video! Poor 🐱 doesn’t have its head yet, but I’m looking forward to seeing this cat get done!!! Wishing you speed and stamina to reach that end of January goal. I think all of us diamond painters suffer from a bit of delusion about time, lol. I just finished the Hello Kitty Gingerbread kit from Joann, and since it’s a partial, I thought it wouldn’t take too long. It still took me two weeks on and off while working on mini diamond art projects (bookmarks and magnets) for friends and family. I’m so daunted to start my larger DAC kits next year, lol. Great editing and very fun, as always ❤
Heyyy I’m slow and steady like you and you feel more in control but multi placers will speed up the process but you do you! Great job btw you got a lot done in just a few hours! And girl I’m doing the same size diamond painting as you!!!!
Hi Riah I also love diamond painting when you mentioned your back hurting I just wanted to give some tips that I’ve found. I have EDS so making sure my body is in a good position is pretty important. You can use an easel to tilt the diamond painting to a better position so you sit up straight and you aren’t contorting your back and neck. Also for the eye strain I found that a light pad is really worth it. The drills are much easier to see and you can get much better lines. I was apprehensive at first because of the price but depending on the size you can get on the cheaper side. Love your content. Hope this helped!
I’ve been diamond painting for years at this point. I’m new to your channel but I’m on your side with the multi placers. I only use a three placer… I love watching ascetic videos of other people using ten placers but I can’t fight with how messy they are. I’ll stick with my three placer. Also thank you for the advice on the nail are tool for abs I bought one and it is a game changer! Love your channel!
Riah i think for ABs, you need an ABs tool pen to pick up Abs specifically. I seen some other UA-camrs uses ABS pen to pick the dimaonds. I hope this help :D
This will be beautiful when you are done. I give you credit for setting a 3 month goal, but don’t beat yourself up if it is not complete. You should enjoy the process more. I love your videos and you are so lucky to have someone to Diamond paint with you 💕💕😸
I can so relate. I’m a one placer. The highest placer I have is a 3 placer. I do at times fill like I’ll never finish but when I am on a roll I’m on a roll. But love your videos because I can so relate. 🥰🥰
I feel you Riah every time I use a multi placer, they’re either always crooked and I have to fix them. Or the pen won’t pick them all up. I’m definitely way more comfortable using a single placer. Keep up the great work though!🐱
If you are not comfortable with a bigger multi placer you don’t have to use one. Diamond painting is about enjoying the project and stress relief. If you are enjoying yourself then that’s all that matters. 🐱 👋
I feel the exact same as you do when it comes to multi-placers. It feels like I'm ruining the painting. Fixing the drills will rub the glue off, etc, etc. Maybe it is something you have to practice at? That's what I might do. 🤷♀️🐈
🐱 this diamond painting is going to look amazing when it’s done.. I’m going to start wearing safety goggles from now on 🥽 I never want a drill in my eye. I’m a one placer only, I think I’m more accurate that way.
Sis, I am working on my largest kit. Scorpio which is bigger than that one. I have been working on it for 2.5 years now. I can’t wait to be done, frame it and hang it on my wall!!😂😂 The kit is from Diamond Art Club too!!❤❤
I only ever use a two placer or single place every single drill. Ive done massive DP's like that, due to losing track with multiplacers. Go at your own pace, not everyone's way will work for you.
I think you'll change your mind about multiplacing when you use a good one, like the DAC's ones. the one's you're using are thick and they end up pushing away the diamonds on the side
Love the way you make your videos🥰 Omg can't imagine diamond in the eye😱😱😱 Glad you got it out 🥰 🐱🐱 it's been Verwood amount for 5 hours🥰 On the end you can make videos with doing just cats heads🤣🐱🥰🥰 Have Fab day 🥰😊

Omg so I wanted to finish my Diamond painting it like 6 days it’s 30 by 40cm and it’s day 6 and I’m kinda close to done. Only because one day I did it literally like 5 hours which is a lot for me. I have 2 sections left and they are pretty small soooo. Btw you ate with that

I managed an 82000 peice in 2 weeks, but I also took 3 months for a 102k peice. It's all about the amount of multiplacing and confetti there is!
The nail pen picks up tiny gems and decals and whatnot, why wouldn't they be used to pick up diamond art diamonds made from a similar material?

If there is fresh wax in it then you can pull the ab coating off the diamond or pull the wax out of the pen altogether
