    Make sure you disconnect the negative terminal to the battery when you're doing electrical work. that way you prevent the possibility of a short when doing stereo connections. Would hate for anyone to damage their equipment before they use it.

    You should do a in depth review of this sun setup. I bought the newer model radio that you have. And I am wanting to add a little thump to it now. Nothing crazy but definitely wanting more than what the factory speakers give out. I also have a 2010 LE and did the spoiler too. Thanks for all the videos and ideas and look forward to more info on that sub setup!

      I had a thought about doing a review on the sub setup. But than I realized it not easy to show how good or how bad it sounds over a video. But I can definitely tell you that it does a nice amount of bass. It doesn’t do it where it will shake the whole trunk like some of the peoples setups. But it’s nice enough to to enjoy it.
      And I’m glad you have been enjoying the videos!

    Love the Carolla build. I have an 08 with Two SKAR VHF 12s on an Orion 3000.1D HCCA SPLX wired @ 1 ohm. Looking to build a wall and add two more 12s. The trunk latch sheet metal is thin and ripped, windshield leaks from flex, I figure I may as well go full tilt and add more. Also, if anyone gets into it and needs an alternator, DC Power was the only high output alternator I could find. (Factory is 70A, the DC Power is 320A

    You really need to add a fuse right after it comes off the battery. This will ensure that you won’t have any problems with a fire or something catastrophic with power wire. Also, I recommend a bigger power wire.

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  Рік тому +1

      Yes I did install a fuse. At 11:30 in the video I installed the in line fuse.
      As for the wire size. This was adequate for my setup. Wasn’t drawing a lot of power from the 1 sub I had, but would never hurt to go bigger!

    I'm trying to install a separate amp in my 2016 corolla that has a head unit very similar to yours, I have everything figured out except how to wire the actual speakers, is plugging the RCA Jacks in good enough? Or do I need to cut each speaker wire from the head unit and run straight into the speake Jacks on the amp as well. Awesome video cleared up a lot of other things for me.

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  Рік тому

      I’m assuming your installing a sub as well.
      But Usually the RCA cables will be good enough. But I know some people try to run all their speakers through the external amp, because that will usually give better sound quality. But majority of people just hook the sub with RCA cables and just let the speaker run off the stock amp. Which is pretty much what I did in the video.
      I hope this helps you out a little more!

    • @Hanyougirl98
      @Hanyougirl98 Рік тому

      No sub. I upgraded the front door and back deck to infinity kappas as the stock speakers were blown when I bought the car. I'm pretty happy with the bass from the speakers but they don't have great clarity or a lot of power behind them which is what I'm praying the amp will fix

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  Рік тому +1

      @@Hanyougirl98 okay that makes sense, so I’m pretty sure running the speakers through the amp should help. But I have never done that, but many people do that. So I would

    Do you recommend putting in subs with a factory stereo? I’m an absolute beginner and I’ve never worked on a car before. Does not having an aftermarket stereo sacrifice anything or being unable to add the pac remote?

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  2 роки тому +1

      I’m just going to say that having an after market radio, makes the install much easier. Because the radio has all the ports on the back to support the amp and sub. While a factory radio has no ports in the back. And requires many more steps which I did not show in the video. Which requires to splice into the speakers for your L and R audio. And I believe you need to add a line output convertor or something like that to get power for the amp.
      I’m not going to say you can’t do it, it just not as easy as if you had a aftermarket radio.

      I don’t see why not, you would just need to splice them together!

    Wires it the same way you did??

    • @BrandonStellmach

      I would double check that you tapped into the correct remote turn on wire behind the radio. Or just make sure you put the wires in the correct spot on the amp.
      And if that all looks good. Double check that you didn’t blow the fuse by accident?

    • @sjodmgrp
      @sjodmgrp 2 роки тому

      Yeah, I did double-check and tripple-checked all fuses and placement of wires.
      Not sure what else could be the issue

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  2 роки тому +1

      Another thing would try to connect your remote turn on wire directly to the battery to make sure your amp is working properly, otherwise you might have a bad amp.
      But if it does turn your amp on then you just don’t have the correct wire for your accessory power, and you will need to find another place to grab your power from.
      Also another thing would be double check your ground cable. Sand down any paint if there is any under the screw head. Or find another bolt.

      @@BrandonStellmach i hooked up the high output directly to the speaker wire and that worked fine.
      The power from the HU is not supplying power.

      @@sjodmgrp well atleast you were able to find the problem. So it seems that your accessory wire isn’t working, so have to tap into another wire for your turn on lower.

    You think it’d work with a factory stereo?

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  2 роки тому +1

      This would work, but you have to wire it completely different, I believe you need to splice into your rear speakers, to get left and right channel. And than tap into some type of accessory power to turn on the amp, so that way it’s not powered when the car is off. Instead of doing what I did behind the radio.

    Hey Brandon how did you install your shift boot?

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  2 роки тому

      I actually plan to make a video about that soon! But what you need to do is unscrew the shift knob and pop off the plastic piece around the shifter. And than the boot will come with it. And then there is some staples holding on the boot, just undo them and take the old one off and put the new one back on with more staples.
