Man I love this phone
I had the Note20 Ultra 5g thought it was the best phone ever then..... I got the S23 Ultra & now I really can say. This is the best phone I've ever had man!! What an amazing upgrade. I you can get this phone, go for it. You won't be disappointed.
I thought the Note 20 Ultra was the best phone ever and that no phone was going to beat it until this year
I upgraded from the s21u, which I thought was the best phone ever at that time, but I must say the s23u has exceeded my expectations, the battery life is great and as you stated, I'm not paranoid about the percentage of charge is left; I utilize multiple apps simultaneously majority of an 8hr day and a full charge will last the entirety of the day with about 30 percent remaining at the end of the day, i feel so confident of the battery life, that I sometimes leave the charger at home and not worry about battery life: as far as the camera goes, I love the quality of the night vision photos 👏
Oh man. I forgot about the Note 20. At first I thought you were trolling. I thought "you mean the S20 Ultra."
But no S-Pen until the S22 Ultra. 😅

I love that CJ does these realistic longer-term reviews; he's about the only YT content creator that does this for his audience. Most just do what I call the hype reviews, and then you never hear anything about the real user experience.

Honestly i think the design is great. I know some want a flat display ultra but i think the current ultra with its size feels perfect with the ever so slight curve that you can barely feel esp with a case and temepered glass. It actually makes gestures and swipes easier for me personally. Great video as always on your channel.
Was not going to upgrade as we had several big things this year (wedding/ bought a house), but switched carriers and in doing g so got an offer of a free Flip 5 or $800 S23U. Snagged the S23U because I heard the battery life was the best Android battery life ever and I use my phone a lot. Had it 3 weeks and only twice have I ever had to stick it on the charger to make through the day with most days still having 20-30% battery left. Looking forward to what more can I do to push this device in the future

FYI: The shutter lag can be changed to nearly non-existent if you tweak the settings in the camera app (camera assistant). And about the color and highlighting, i actually like it tho. Not sure what people mean when they say they dont

Thank you for acknowledging the shutter lag. That and the fact that Samsung phones (and really no phone best I can tell) can shoot clean and properly focused close up shots like the Pixel (unless you have a macro camera) are what's holding Samsung back. Camera app experience (at least on my s22+) is still lacking, too.
I am fully satisfied with my S23 ultra. Gonna stick to it at least for 2 years. No other phone can beat it in the near future. 👍💪

Keep bringing the fire CJ. Unfortunately, I missed the S23 Ultra. I didn't upgrade from the S22 before copping the Z Fold 5. Shout out to One UI . I didn't appreciate the minimal upgrades until u showed how Apple used this method to enhance optimization and provide a better user experience.
No idea on the sneakers. Waiting for u to bust out the Kobe 6 (Grinch), though.
I'm a heavy user. It's a beast. I left the house with 80% this morning and here I'm at watching this video still with 33% at almost 8 at night. I probably can run an hour or so playing call of duty warzone then I'll need to charge. Battery life is amazing.

Try using the Niagara Pro launcher. So minimalistic one pager design. Looks so clean and premium. I used Nova launcher before but I like Niagara Pro way way better.
I literally just picked it up (again, initially returned it because I thought it'd be too big for EDC ) got a deal on the 512GB. Yes its unapologetically big, yes its over the top on every spec outside of charging speed. For productivity and media consumption its a beast and difficult to beat, specifically for the US market where we are more limited in choices.

Any freezes/glitches during the 7 months?
My iPhone 14 Pro froze at least 5 times this summer, heavy use, hot sun but also froze up during light use. How is low light video and photo (license plate readable clarity)? Can it record video and make a phone call at the same time? My iPhone 14 Pro can not. Why would I like this feature? Maybe nice to have in an emergency situation.

I dont use cases for my phones too since the note 20 ultra and there hadnt been a single tiny scratch on my Phones since then
I think samsung really did get their own design for their flagship smartphone maybe the upgrade or the change we will see in S24 Ultra is the flat screen and also again the optimization in other socmed apps. And still hoping if samsung will create their own OS or bring back their Tizen OS or Fuschia OS that they’re talking about…😅

The edge screen possibly going away in 2024 in favor of a titanium band has me holding off. Not dropping $1200 on a phone with a screen designed to scratch, crack and doesn't take normal screen protector.Pixel Pro 7 is on sale now, but the Tensor's bad efficiency and 8 coming in Oct is another hold.

I have the S22 ultra I know the battery is way better and the cameras are improved. I just can't justify the move financially yet. I love my s22 ultra and I will be upgrading in Feb with the S24 Ultra

Yup! (*but I do edit audio in my video editor to beef it up a bit as I am an audio engineer so keep that in mind but audio out of phone was good)

I switched from 14 pro to s23 ultra without regrets and now i switched from that ultra to z fold 5 without regrets either cause i am not much of a camera guy anyway and i dont feel tempted on 15 pro max at all. What i could potentially switch the fold 5 for is the s24 ultra only IF : Flat screen and no bullcrap exynos in europe ofc ..

I currently have the S23 ultra and thinking about switching to the Zfold 5. In your personal opinion would that be a downgrade? I was also debating on going to IOS and getting tge iphone 15 pro max. Nit sure what to do. I do read and watch movues on my phone more than social media. TIA
If you want to switch to a fold wait atleast fold 6. I think it will get flagship cameras and the crease in the middle maybe gone and bigger battery. And with Snapdragon 8gen3 chip it maybe a beast

I would love to see a vid with the Freewell Sherpa system. I found my image was a bit more wobbly as far as stabilization when using them when filming sports.

I like to ask to you charge your s23 ultra to 100% or do you have it set to just charge up to 85%.
I charge up to a little pass 90%-98%ish

Well you know next year with the S24 Ultra supposed a flat display. What you think about that? Me personally i still like the minimal curve on the S23 Ultra.
I’ve had to change screen protectors about 6 times since the phone released because of the curve design, dust gets under the screen protector for both tempered glass & hydro gel
And the glass ones always crack within a month from the edges

There's a shutter lag Fix, you have to download the camera assistant on the galaxy store and go to your camera then settings go to camera assistant options then go to the shutter speed and select what you want
I dont know why samsung doesn't promote this though 😅
Or they should just make it native in the app…hopefully next One UI update

Only thing I dont like about my s23 u is the battery life isnt that great (which is the whole reason I upgraded from the s22u). It's settled around 6.5 hrs sot :/

Idk but i get 8 hours sot, just turn on light energy save mode and it will last you a hour or two more based on your usage...hope this is useful
What are the physical differences between this and the old Note phones. Those were always my go-tos but the Ultras look identical to me.

I have the exact same feeling about this phone. It is hands down the best phone I have ever had, but it still needs work. I did a couple tests with the camera and saw NO difference in 50MP and 200MP, other than file size. Maybe there is a setting somewhere or a mode that it needs to be in, but I don't take a lot of pictures. I sat down and went through all the settings when I got it, but when it came time to use those settings, I forgot them all. Also the zoomed in pictures have a nasty AI look to them. I would actually rather them be a bit blurry zoomed in and not a blocky horror show. Low light pictures still don't match what I have seen from my wife's Iphone 13 pro max, but other picture blow the Iphone out of the water. I have a Nikon D5300 and I always compare phone cameras to that. Each new phone gets closer, but not even this thing will match it. Physics of a big fat glass lens is really hard to overcome.
You try Raw Mode for night pictures? I try and i say, its 5 time better then automatic mode..

I just removed the number on the battery, because old phones i was always watching the damn number so when it gets 20% i get nervous. But with s23ultra, i dont have to pay attention anymore to that number, so i removed.
CJ very nice video yes phone is beautiful I have sky blue at home no case but at work I have to use uag plasma ice case for drop protection due to my Job yes this phone will definitely be phone of the year spec sheet I do not see iPhone 15 beating S23ultra samsung has optical zoom up to 10x which is awesome I've taken lot of pictures and video when I went to Florida there awesome... I still use Nova launcher cause I use custom icon packs and Nova is just brilliant but your video is great I've only has mine since may looks might be same but under the hood makes a world of difference ✌️

For real thou, Samsung and some of these 3rd party apps needs to work something out. If i take a picture woth regular camera its waaaay about anything from 3rd party apps like Whatsapp or Instagram.

The s23 ultra in white still is nice way better than Apple iPhone 15 pro max color . I hope s24 ultra adds better colors. Better camera better battery, but overall i want Sam to do something cool with messages. Like add games, add a better find my feature, satellite comms and safety. Better watch support. And just go ahead give us something like an air drop. Guys i have both phones and IDK WTF TO DO on my Samsung however i like using it more once the battery is improved its going to SUCK using iPhone. I love the phone. Only real cons are the squared corners and the phone is a bit too long.

Really worth it if you are looking forward for a phone to use for 4 years minimum. I just got mine last month and it still feels like i took it out of the box today. Sure s24 or iphone 15 will give it a good fight, but istg we have reached a point where literally everything is provided to you on the silver platter, you just have to take care of it.
This is still a beast, as I battle between my S23 Ultra and my iPhone 14 Pro. I have experienced some battery draining issues, occasionally but other than that, staying with these 2 phones. Congrats again on the 100K .
The only reason I got the s23u was because my s22u battery life was abysmal.. 4.5 hrs sot. And first my s23u got great batter but now it's settled at 6.5hrs sot. Pretty dissapointing
