This "Hendrix" Stratocaster has a solid alder body, contoured on the back and lower bass bout that has been professionally re-finished many years ago in Olympic White and weighs 7.40 lbs. One-piece 'birds-eye' maple neck with a nut width of 1 5/8 inches, a scale length of 25 1/2 inches and a very comfortable medium-to-fat neck profile. Veneer rosewood fretboard with 21 original frets and pearloid dot position markers. Large headstock with decal with Fender logo in black with gold trim. Three light gray bottom single-coil pickups with staggered polepieces and outputs of 5.48k, 5.40k, and 5.50k. There is some light finish checking and a few miniscule surface marks. The re-fin is of the highest professional standard and was most probably done in the eighties. The 'Birds-Eye' pattern on the face of the headstock and the back of the neck is quite beautiful and this 'Hendrix' Strat is an exceptional player in excellent plus (9.00) condition. Complete with the original tremolo arm. Housed in its original Fender black hardshell case with dark orange plush lining (9.00).
I've learned so much about guitar playing just from watching Phil x kick ass
Phil X is such a great player! I love watching his fingers on the fretboard, even when he's shredding it looks like he gives every note it's due time. You're the man Phil!
Phil X don't need no coke...he's got talent and passion for what he's doing.
Mad respect to Phil X and his positive vibe. "I am Canadian"
Kim Mitchell is so underrated! Thanks for including him Phil.
BEST CHANNEL ON UA-cam! Thanks Phil, and sorry for the caps! Cheers from Brazil. PS I want one of these Robots!!

I loooove the big headstock like in the 70s ! :P
Whatever your on can you get me some... Great playing and a good laugh.. Thanks..
So nice sound from this 1970 model !...
Such a great player!! Please keep the vid's coming!
Go For a Soda...great tune. The bassline in that song kicks, too.
Kim Mitchell came to my high school (Fort Erie Secondary) in the mid 70's with his band Max Webster and he kicked ass!! Too bad they dont get along any more i wish they put their differences aside and do a reunion for old times sake..
my guitar is a cheap strat copy it was in sunburst but it was all gettin sweaty and paint coming off from dropping it and playing it too much so i sanded it down and painted it this colour it looks awesome
Yes he mentioned Indian, my nationality
(I know he meant first nation, but eh!)
you guys might not believe this but us Indians love your videos
especially Phil X, and despite me being Indian I live in Canada
which just makes him more special(hence he is Canadian too)
,and once again, India shows you love man
(ask Bryan Adams, he knows, I have seen him in concerts in India)
Hey from Ontario :) Loved the Kim tone
All phil you took my suggestion. That will be one orange soda for royalty please! Great work as always...CRAM
dude, u r trully an inspiration! love the guitar!
This guy is the rock God! So rough so real!
@PBANDSNOW The song at 1:14 is Free Ride by either johnny or edgar winter. I think it was Edgar
This doesn't make you want to buy a guitar, this makes you want to cry.
i like the way this dude talk and play, i think he is so high already !
That's the right guitar for my good buddy Rockeras!!! :-))))
Great!
@MrIzzPizz
under the bridge by the chili peppers. hehe he listened to it before shooting one video and tried pretty well but wasn't original. but really he's a musician he could probably play any song if he would sit on it for a little while. just listening and playing what you listen right.
your playing is very good, its own unique style to it, and your Canadian, that's awesome, im Canadian as well and im just starting guitar, in fact i just started in November and im doing pretty well (im teaching my self) for a beginner that is, but i like your videos. if you ever get a Hofner bass in your shop can you please do a review on it. thanks
i love this guy hes hilarious and amazing at guitar
I just bought this exact strap to finish off my 62 reissue strat. Its almost as cool as the guitar....almost.
@toobasaurus23
I believe rosewood is harder, and sounds warmer, where as Maple is a bit softer, and brighter. I prefer maple personally, but I play bass guitar, so I don't really know much about what would sound better on guitar.
this video wa made on my birthday and i got a stevie wonder album that day and i love phil x coincidence
Love the Kim Mitchell dude!!
Lets throw the pick in the room full of guitars worth more than my house. Massive respect, ROCK ON!
best Foxy Lady cover ever
Yay! Im from Canada too!
Q107 best station ever. T.O for life.
guys, these videos are awesome, only thing i would say is that u should put the name of the songs Phils playing like in the corner of the screen while he's playing them... :)
That Tonemaster might be the best amp ever. EVER.
you got magic in that soul............
One of your best! congrat.
Are they paid you to do that job ?
the music is just streaming through him
that is my favourite band logo
How does Phil do that crazy stuff behind the nut? I've never heard it that cool sounding before.
@sgfout Its called Free Ride by the Edgar Winter Group
@sblopez08 Ya, he played the strings right above the nut.
Fenders are amazing guitars!! Strats especially, so versatile and such a recognisable sound, you just don't get that in new models that are coming out these days.
I have this strap!! An original ace one too, not one of these try-too-hard reissues!
Awesome guitar, I love all these videos
Phil X shredding as always
"It's Magnets"
OH MY GOD that was an inside joke from my highschool XD.
@princeken77 probably a lot, search for the drills playing fire by hendrix, you'll see him killing his LTD Viper
Coffee+weed+god-like talent= PHIL X!
i love this strat
he should do a cover of Is This Love like the way he played it in the video... i'd buy that, that was pretty sick \m/
@Benairgeek He's already done that on another vid. 1954 strat I think actually.
omg i want that guitar
@drnapster
I can get that tone to from my fender champion 600,
difference is that it needs effects in orther to do that:p
The tonemaster can rock on its own:p
i just listened to last dance with mary jane and it sounds exactly like that chili pepppers song
Beauty aye! Rock on
@StainIessChina They stopped putting Nitro in the 70s, so it might depend of the year it was made.
Hell yeah man!!
We're going into this mode, boys, girls ,,,,,,, and puppies. wooow
Great sounding guitar.
How about next time you're at Fretted Americana you play some Foo Fighters.
@crabejoss would you need to be paid to play all those gorgeous guitars?
Just the casual 60's strats in the backround...
better than slash
hey Phil does the neck on the CBS Strats feel similar to the 50's early 60's Fender necks?
Great playing by the way.
Thanks
so do all vintage strats have a loud hum/buzz with the single coil. If so would that be bad for studio sessions?
i love rosewood fretboard on strat --,
its a rose wood, maple makes a thin or funky sound, rosewood make it smooth and fat, rosewood good for blues if you ask me
beautiful guitar, great sound, whats the song in the intro?
Sorry for the ignorance but what is the difference between a maple fretboard and a brown fretboard? (I don't know what kind of wood is the brown fretboard)
Tell that to Jimi Hendrix, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, Janick Gers, Yngwie Malmsteen, Frank Zappa, Ritchie Blackmore, Eric Johnson, Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton, David Gilmour, and so on and so on.......
he didnt just cover foxy lady, he performed it :D
Funky Strat. Phil, where can i get that Drills shirt? Whats the difference between rosewood and maple? I have a Gibson LP and a Maton accoustic. Keep up the sick work bro. T23
cool shirt Phil! ya dirty ol dawg ha ha... ya killed me doin that whammy bar thingy on Foxy Lady whewww youre somethin phil.. you sure are sumthin LOL :''D
i remember seeing kim mitchell when i was a kid in buffalo, ny
I have maple neck strat and when he reminded me that rosewood is a little warmer, I was like "Fuck!"
Yes! love kim mitchell, phil is amazing
@Grimx100 Yes he did
Phil its out of the blue but, do you usually say soda or pop?
FUCK YEAH. he represents us canadians well :D
what was the name of the song he played on 1:10 ...it just slipped of my mind
ok i know i'm commenting a lot... but how the HELL did he do that at 5:00!?!?!?! that was SICK!! please if anyone knows i'd love to be able to start practicing something like that
@8x26x08 can u please tell me the name of it cause i really wanna kno
you dont need to imagine!
Phil gives hope to those of us who pick the shit outta everything.
john used the same guitar a white strat in the dani cali
Phil, what do you call that picking on the headstock? That is wicked! Also, don't worry about those lawyers. I am one and I ain't callin' nobody.
is the rosewood better to play than a maple fingerboard?
could someone tell me what brand strap that is and where i could find one?
man what i would do to get to jam out with phil x!!!
quest'uomo è un pazzo!!
@MrIzzPizz Through the Tire and the Flames, on expert?
i have a 1974 fender stratocaster in black....... how much can it basically be sold for right now?
Albert Hammond's guitar is an '80s Japanese Fender. Not as valuable but just as cool.
could someone tell me the year they began using a 5-way switch on strats? appreciate it!
his being canadian explains some things....
Strato.....CASTER
Does this guy get paid to jam all day?
