A little information on the boats we are using (because the commenters would like to know!)

Both boats are vicious on 6s. She did great for a full power first timer! I pack the both sides with foam up under the deck in front of the batteries, in between them, and in back of them to the transom, on the blackjack, they sit fully ahead of the battery trays and it still wants to flip on a gusty day lol, 6s proboat=fun

Both are cool, but style wise the Impulse gets my vote.

The impulse is faster if running on 6s. Top speed of the blackjack on 6s is 45mph, while the impulse on 6s hits 55+mph.
6s it up lol. Two very fun and exellent quality vessel. I own both as well as more boats. Great video yall

thats what she said literally lol................................................... strap it on lol might be time to get a canoe with a transom and an electric trolling motor lol and a little flotation foam on the lid and the boat might assist in possible recovery just a thought either way another great video, oh and i agree with the taping of the lid and the rudder location to the prop previously stated

Nice! you should do a video of the impulse and blackjack dueling on 6s. it would offer a better visual comparison on the performance characteristics when they are running on equal power.

She caught some air!!! Haha! I've been saying this since you first started your boat videos and I hope you do it. It would be really cool to see you set up an oval with floats or something and do some races. Keep in mind which direction it turns the best in deciding which way to run during a race(if that makes sense). I really look forward to these videos Medic, keep up the great work.
I believe that the reason the boat tutns sharper to the left is because most boat races involve more/sharper left turns that right turns

Also Medic glue some foam pieces of foam pool noodles onto the hatch so it floats when it comes off .
I think it's the offset position of the rudder that is causing the sharper turn one way , and I know this is six years after the video release.👍
The boat turns better one way because of the rotation of the prop. So it's going to turn better whatever way the prop is turning

Nice boats! My guess would be that you need to speed up gradually to avoid getting airborne.

If you have two props that are next to each other and one has a backwards prop and spins reverse to the other then you have an equivalent amount of water going in both directions making it so you can turn the same amount and you can speed one motor up to make it turn even sharper
Tip #1, on a single-prop, release the throttle some when turning the "weak" direction.
On a dual-prop, have counter turning props and you should be ok.

Haha that was awesome. You should buy a inexpensive canoe or jus a small row boat so you can recover your boats of they flip.....or lose their lids haha
The v hull was running wet.push the trim tabs up so the back of the boat rides the water instead of three quarters of the boat being wet.then instead of pushing through the water it will fly on top.be a whole lot faster and a little more of a wild ride

The Inpulse "V" seemed to handle better than the Blackjack, but that's just my $0.02 for that, I like speed boats, but the ones that flip over easily would worry me the most.

Cool video. I wonder if adding a second rudder on the left or moving the existing rudder directly behind the propeller would make any difference in turning? I am thinking that it is a leverage issue.

They should integrate a reversed front airfoil on the boat to keep the front down going that fast
i would have tried to push the part with the boat or in your case the other boat to retrieve the part!

Does the limo cut off let you know when your battery is dying?
You aught to try it with a 180 amp Seaking esc and a leopard 4082 2200kv motor. That gives it over 4.6 hp. I don't recall which prop I had on my MG 29 with that setup, but I got well over 80 mph. with it. I made my own offset rudder setup since mine was a V1 with the rudder behind the prop. I found that the boat settles down once you get above about 60 mph., at least the way I have mine dialed in. I do have some footage on my channel, but I never got a speed run on camera since my camera man, being more of an indoor type, wanted to go home. Anyway, if you really want an adrenaline rush, I think that will do it for you.

I'm planning on trying this with an MG 29 V3 with a faster prop. I understand Pro Boat has strengthened the hull so it should be able to survive the blow overs better. I hope to break 90 with it.

Flight happens in the real world too - that's one thing the Catamaran in my opinion isn't the best at keeping it in the water from what I have seen. That V-hull with 6s would do better - I missed seeing Jem glad to see her back out playing but I understood being a mom is top priority - Your son is going to have an awesome childhood RC's are the best social hobby so much better than sitting in front of a computer or game council IMHO.

Adjust the trim tabs. U have that bow eating water. The impulse would go much faster with the bow higher.

It's nice to have flat water
The turning is because the rudder is to the right and case a sharper turn and if you don't under stand look at the revolt 30 because it turns shaper one way backs thee are only left turns in mono hull racing
Use the fishing boat to pick up the lid. A big net on the side.
I have the Impulse 31 too but it bounces like crazy. How do you get yours to sit?

the reason the boat has tighter left turns is because how the prop spins when you back up you can only backup one way
I think the main problem is that the rudder is offset from the prop and not directly behind it like it should be.
Your Blackjack 29 looks really nice. I run the same exact batteries but for some reason my boat doesn't ride like yours. I've tried to adjust the prop and still no luck. Can I have a picture of your prop placement? Thanks. James Carroll

If that is a true racing boat some are made to run to the left better than the right, so you may have to make prop adjustments to fix that issue.
V hull boat or plane & flat hull catamaran. Which is better in performance?
Depends on the water surface
The Impulse is running wet you need to adjust the strut up a little.
hows the adjustments work..just got an impluse 31 and a blackjack 29....need to know how to clean then and oils flew shaft...and the impluse drive dog looks different.....iaa c
CHRIS PATTERSON To air the boat out, which means less boat in the water. You loosen the pinch bolt on the strut and raise the prop up more out of the water. This setup is suppose to work as a surface drive not totally submerged.
Oh OK tks....i meant how do I do the flex shaft cleaning and stuff lol..but got all that now....now I'm wondering on these fins on the impluse and what ur talking about if u don't mind explaining some...I new to this all..but love both my boats here...I have both of these...and a few others..went crazy buying them lol
In my personal opinion, i think that because the prop is to the left of the rudder (instead of being inline with each other) it tends to want to push the boat to the right due to that massive 6S LiPo. Do you find that if you drive it in a straight line that it wants to steer right a bit?
Also, I've just decided after watching this vidio, I want a 6S powered boat :D

hi rc sparks iv just bought an admiral 40" offshore boat but watching sum videos of it it looks slow its running 2 550 water cooled motors i was wondering if you could tell me what options i could go with it please thanks lee
nice. how would you compare it to the Spartan on 6s?
It is slower. As a catamaran,there is MUCH less water resistance, but the spartan(unmodified) has a more powerful motor with greater torque, and a larger prop. If both unmodified boats ran on 6s in a straightaway drag race, the spartan would hit about 55 mph, and the blackjack would hit about 45 mph.

Handling on the spartan can be a little sensitive but responsive to timing, and maneuverability I would say is jerky on turns but fast on a straightaway.
The blackjack is likely to flip on turns and even full throttle if it loses control in the hydroplane process, but it handles well, except the turns can be a tad sharp.

Tiger Shot yeah but maybe a bit more battery power is needed and a lot more maintenance due to the saltwater as well as very good radio range I suggest a catamaran or a self writing v Hull

JOHNJOHN 9111 I wouldn't recommend a hydroplane as a first boat because at high speeds they are more straight line and smooth water only.
