Purchased the Complete Coach's kit last summer. Used a ton of your drills from the kit and this channel, and made a bunch of plays on the playbuilder. Coached my kids' 1st-2nd- grade and 5th-6th grade teams last fall (5v5). 1st-2nd grade team went 7-0, outscoring opponents 136-6 in the final 4 games of the season. We were pumped for the tournament which included our league and another nearby league, but found out 3 days prior not enough teams signed up for our division. So we asked to play up to 3rd-4th grade but they wouldn't allow it. We were all super bummed. Most of them play baseball together too, so I'm already hearing from the other parents how excited their kiddos are! Just wanted to say thanks!

I see you got a lapel mic, but you're not using it! I like the Level 2 drill of working on inside/outside shoulders. I put progressions right on my wristbands for my team. It might just read X,Z,C or something and it is designed to capitalize on overloads and clears. It's also my attempt to encourage the ball to be spread around. Even when my two QBs are warming up, I have them 'look' at 3 objects at different distances before throwing the ball to ingrain the habit. We have practice tonight, I'm going to use that inside/outside drill for sure.

I’m a big fan of numbering so I like the idea of putting it on the wristbands. I have a text box feature in the Play Builder so I’m going to add that for our QBs.
Inside-outside is must and having the confidence that they can hit either depending on the position of the defender is key. Let me know how it goes tonight.

I got incredibly lucky and got an amazingly fast QB and can throw…the RPO is deadly. First game was Friday night down 14-0 @ half. 18-14 comeback victory!

3-0 Coach!!
Best Quarterback I’ve ever coached started as a Center originally. He had decent enough hands as a receiver and made some good catches.
After a 7-0 season in which we won the League Super Bowl with arguably the best defense in league history (15 interceptions run back for Touchdowns with more interceptions that got stopped short) he began transitioning from Center to Backup Quarterback.
Went 4-3 in our following tittle defense season, he played good but we lost some key pieces from that championship team.
We had multiple games where he and our normal starter would swap at the half and he’d take over the second half. Looking back that got him valuable experience as a starter.
After the starter and his dad (shared Head Coach Role with me) left for personal reasons, the former backup got his chance to shine, and he played pretty good for taking over halfway into a season.
We finished 4-2-1 that season. Didn’t win the tittle but we finished strong and fought to the finish when everyone counted this team out.
A hurricane ended what was going to be the final ride for the team as a whole after just one game. We blew out a team that has forced us to forfeit the year before, beat ‘em 34-13, he had his best game.
He’s a left handed gunslinger with a rocket powered arm that’s laser precision accurate. He’s now playing flag and Pop Warner. He’s still the QB and he’s gettin ‘er done.
Best QB I’ve ever coached hands down, and I’ve had many special Quarterbacks in my almost 10 years of coaching.
I truly believe if he keeps putting in the work he can go pro, I fully believe that. I want to hear his name on draft night years down the road.

Hey coach, just started our season this weekend. The league is supposed to break the teams up between beginners and intermediates. I've got a team with mostly first time players and a couple 2-3 year players. We got mercy ruled in the first half both games. Any tips on how to approach playing teams that have significantly more skill, experience, and time together and how to help players from getting too discouraged?
This has happened to me in the past and it can be tough. I like coaching new players but it can be a challenge when facing teams that have been together or have high skill. I’m big on creating a celebrate culture with my new players. I’m going to teach them basic fundamentals (getting big and getting in the way, route running, 2-3 RB moves, staying deep as a safety so no one is behind us, swam to the ball as a group). These are things that win or lose I can celebrate and we can all cheer for. When a new LB gets in the way and doesn’t allow a fast RB to get the edge, driving them in toward our other flag pullers, that’s a win! I’m loud about celebrating. Help your QB just get completions and move the ball - they don’t have to go sooo big. Allow for small wins, celebrate victories, and have a word of the week they can focus on (sportsmanship, teamwork, resilience). All these things will develop the right culture and the celebrations can add up to some pretty awesome plays. Hope that helps!
Great coach. Thanks for the pointers. We are definitely a team that ,for now, is centered around short completions and strong runs. We'll focus on those small victories. Good catching, quick runs, clutch plays, good fundamentals, and having good sportsmanship.

I have a Couple questions need some help I coach 10-12 girls (F-FlagF) I can't get a win I am 0-5-1 been 4 points from a win , I am having trouble with girls focused,competitive, willing, positive attitude.
