No she said it herself countless times. When someone presents her with the idea, like we should decriminalize petty theft because it victimizes the poor trying to survive, she says "Yeah, I can get behind that" and her thought process stops there. She doesn't ask 'how are they going to implement that' or 'what are the consequences of doing that' she trusts in the idea, that the people who are doing it have the best of intentions and that they've worked out all the kinks. So when it goes bad there is no personal accountability. Someone else didn't close a loophole.

years ago my husbands best friend (who's gay), then almost 40 yrs old, would go out and find teenage boys. I'm 39 and California used to be a aspirational destination. Now its a dystopian hellscape. There is a reason nobody is moving TO California.
I was born in Oakland CA 1951. Lived in the SF Bay area then went in the USN in 1969. Came back in 73 and did the whole life living thing. Worked for PacBell until 2004. My wife and I got the hell out (moved to a conservative place). CA was wonderful in the 50's and early 60's. When the hippies came along it started to go to hell. Just a timeline for your perusal.
She's gonna leave and vote for the exact same thing in the next state.
She should stay and try to fix the state, with her wokeness.
I reckon that if you take any geographic entity (not just California), seal its borders and force everyone wanting to leave to stay, they won't have any choice except to turn on their oppressors and fix the problem.

You're hung up on a one year gap. The law says the judge can not put someone on the registry if it's within 10 years. So yes a 24 year old can sleep with a 14 year old and the judge can say they don't have to be on the registry. How is that a good thing? They should automatically be placed on it. And weirner, the guy pushing it, said it was to help lgbt people. And the only way you would push a 10 year gap that starts at 14 like that is if you're fine with it.
He said it should be a 5 year exemption instead like 4 times.
No, it says that it's up to the judge's discretion, not that the judge can't. Automatic sex offender registration for convictions of merely statutory rape are ripe for injustices. Leaving the judge to judge whether the person is actually a predator based on what exactly happened is exactly the right treatment. As for how the law is about gay equality, it's simple: two males don't have an option of having vaginal sex with each other. Before this law, a guy and a girl having sex may or may not mean automatic registration depending on the type of intercourse they had, while two guys (of the same age relationship as the guy and girl) having sex meant automatic registration no matter what kind of intercourse they had. There's no logical reason for that unequal condition. The actual reason the window is 10 years is because that was the existing window for vaginal sex. If you think it should be short, fine, but they shouldn't differ from each other.
At 14, she isn't able to consent. She is being intimidated. Same for 15,16, etc. These relationships are not consensual. So no more rape then.
These people that leave Commifornia should have their last two voting records exposed and not allowed to vote in two election cycles in the state they moved to. Particularly if they're the ones that voted for the people instituted the policies they now have problems living with it.

I just left a comment essentially saying the same thing. It's why I know I can trust this far more than the vast majority of media journalists. Being actually objective shows credibility and integrity to remain factual. This is what all true journalists should be in setting the example of doing. With the exceptions of James O'Keefe and Tucker Carlson, there's not many who seem to really get why it's necessary for true journalism to maintain that kind of integrity.
The sad fact is that she will move to another state, vote the same way she has been voting and wonder why this new place has also change.

As a former SF addict myself.. now 6 years in recovery and not in SF. I really wish somebody would have forced me into rehab. Intervention of some sort may have enabled me to find the bottom a little earlier then I did on my own. If they would have went with forced rehab for repeat offenders.. they might have been able to change some peoples lives, but unfortunately.. building quality treatment centers isn't as profitable as enabling addicts through non-profits which then just kick back to the politicians who fund them.

I know. Idk why he kept glossing over that and only focusing on a 17 and 18 year old. Nobody was talking about that and it's not like you can only have one with the other. How is it good that a judge can decide a 24 year who did something with a 14 year old shouldn't be placed on the registry? They are trying to normalize that and laws like that are just the first step.
It’s the 10 year and that they brought discretion to the homo rather than make registering automatic for hetero and homo.

What she was talking about had misinformation so he was correcting it. He also says they already normalized it for straights to do that.
