Great reaction. The Budokan is a martial arts arena built for the 1964 Olympics and is now also one of the most prestigious venues for concerts (think the equivalent of Madison Square Garden or Carnegie Hall) and it is the place all Japanese and many foreign artists aspire to play ... only a small minority ever get there. BABYMETAL first played at the Budokan in March 2014 and they are the youngest average age female band ever to headline (Su was 16, Yui and Moa were 14) ... they sold it out 2 nights running. They were back again in 2021 where this was filmed - and they played 10 nights over the course of 3 or 4 months as part of their 10th anniversary celebration. Unfortunately because of the pandemic the arena was limited to half capacity, no moshing, double face masks, no shouting etc - but BABYMETAL and their audience made it work and the production, as you saw here, was spectacular. The official lyrics for FDTD have never been published, the captions you saw are a "best guess" - all we really know is that it is in English. It was only released on the international edition of the second album, the Japanese edition had 'Syncopation' instead - an equally great but very different song. Yes please do a reaction to CrypticMisery's 'All you need to know about Babymetal' video ... don't worry, we will watch it and join in the conversation about it (all 40+ minutes of it).🤘🦊🤘
i saw Babymetal last nite in Sydney , Australia,.Atmosphere in the room was so electric, like air was on fire, Fun , heavy , sing a long nite of awesomeness. most exciting concert i have seen in decades. Pretty sure this was in the set.
4:45 Reaction start This song was performed along with Syncopation in the middle of setlist during Doomsday III and IV, it got that epic and ethereal vibes and it shows a mature side in BM second album, Metal Resistance. Both songs are part of that album, only thing is FDTD was released for international market and Syncopation only locally, of course is another suggestion for next reaction. This is a long time waited proshot version for the fans, song was pushed to be performed again after many years and being played only one time at Hollywood Paladium in 2017 while on US tour when YuiMetal was still in the group, sadly for copyright disputes that proshot version never saw the light and we only have fancams of that. Thankfully they performed this last year at 10 Babymetal Years Budokan, and surprised everyone with this astonishing and beautiful production. Momoko Okazaki (now MomoMetal) was the avenger helping to fill the third spot and she did a great job. Also the English lyrics is a little bit more clear thanks to Papa Xan from BMRR, but we don't have official lyrics yet, is one out of four songs with full English lyrics. Like someone said before, MoaMetal is like a body subtitles for this song. Love that dubstep or brostep breakdown, is a genre widely know and popular around 2015 thanks to Skrillex among others, he actually become very good friend with BM and even invite them to perform during a Skrillex show in Japan playing a remix version of Gimme Chocolate!! Thanks for sharing this and see you next time 🦊🤘🔥
Great reaction. Amazing song. I am a big BabyMetal fan. Love this one. Love all their songs. Got the Blu-ray from this concerts. Don’t believe this song is on it. They matured a lot musically over the years. Go to see them live in december. Finally. Thanks for this reaction.
Well spoted about the colour changes . Say this everytime about Su's high vocals when reactors mention how high just before Su hits that insane note . Up untill this performance at the Budokan 10 BabyMetal years show only footage of this song was from fancams on their US tour in 2017 at the Hollywood Palladium 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
This song is from their second album Metal Resistance and was only released on the international version of the album. On the Japanese version of the album is a song called Syncopation. Which for me personally is their best song ever. I recommend it for the next reaction. 🤘🦊🤘
Ahh FDTD this is a massive fan favourite and yet their rarest song - only performed live 3 times - debuted in 2017 at Hollywood Palladium with Yui and then twice at 10 Budokan concerts. The insane crowd reaction is delight at it being performed again. And yes it is totally in English (their only English only song) - most of their songs mix Japanese and English. Also ignore the subtitles - the discussion on the actual lyrics is all over the BM forums and they have never been published and it is hard to clearly make out. Finally yes falsetto shows just how good her vocal range is. Suzuka (pronouced Suz-ka) is SU-METAL's real name, Moa being MOAMETAL's first name and of course Momoko is MOMOMETAL (formerly Yui was YUIMETAL) - the girls only ever refer to themselves by their BM names in all interviews, etc and always appear in costume for those. There is a fan cam version only of FDTD in 2017 ua-cam.com/video/y4wo7PHfjp0/v-deo.html
Nice reaction. The song is as unique as Babymetal. Every song is different. Some are more different than others. The foxhole is deep and full of surprises. No one saw this song coming when they announced the 10 years of Babymetal shows at the Budokan. This was actually the first time it was done in Japan. Imagine being so big internationally you have songs you've only done outside of the country you're from. The do have a couple of songs they've only done in Japan. For those big epic shows. The stage effects are always tops with Babymetal. They know when to hit those cues. During the Metal Galaxy tour. Su was represented by the sun and Moa by the moon. You can see how those colors came into effect again during this performance. Babymetal does like to through easter eggs into their shows. They started this show on crosses a throwback to their earlier shows. 10years and they did get a lot in the Budokan shows. After you do a few more Babymetal reactions go ahead and watch the guides to Babymetal. It may be long but the One will watch every minute of it. And we already know what's in it.
Great reaction! LYRICS = For this song, there is NO OFFICIAL lyrics which is also unique. Please refer to UA-cam by AJ Hartley and Jonathan. Their analysis is based on Japanese culture, and I believe their lyrics are the most accurate. I am a 75 year old Japanese BABYMETAL fan having lived 34 years in NA. Please keep up your journey into the FOXHOLE. These people have made me fly all the way to Japan for their January live this year, and I am wrapping up 2023 by going to Spain for their 2023 tour finale. (Barcelona and Madrid).

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。This song has been performed only 3 times to date. A limited number of fans who were at Hollywood Palladium on June 16, 2017 had been privileged to experience this song for 4 years. On February 16, 2021, when the intro started, everyone at Budokan (including me) was firstly shocked and gradually god excited understanding what was going to happen. At the end of the song, however, everyone got confused with what he / she witnessed because it was too surprising and mesmerizing. On the following day (Feb.17), the audiences came to the venue expecting the setlist would remain the same and FDTD would be played again. Once this song started many of them (including me) just stared at the stage without moving as if they were trying to burn the performance into their retinas. Su-Metal did it perfectly. "In the end !" Divine voice. And Moa and Momoko did perfect choreo like angels smoothly dancing around the goddess. Oh! I actually saw and listened to it twice for sure, but still "was it real?" (Even after reconfirmed it in Blu-ray video)
The song was only included on the international version of the album, the Japanese release had "Syncopation" instead - which is one of my favourite songs. Perhaps thats why FDTD doesn't get that much recognition. While the Japanese sometimes produce some strange English, I don't think what we see in the subtitles here are the actual lyrics. I hope they aren't.
From Dusk Till Dawn :BABYMETAL / From "Metal Resistance" (second album, 2016) Music Composed & Arranged by YUYO YUPPE (YUPPEMETAL), Lyrics: KITSUNE of METAL GOD, KxBxMETAL, TMETAL Produced by KOBAMETAL (Kei Kobayashi) .
From Dusk Till Dawn won the poll for which song they should play at their 10 Budokan 10th anniversary concerts. Babymetal was surprised everyone in Japan knew the song since it was on the international version of the Metal Resistance album, and they are equally surprised everyone in the West knew Syncopation which is on the Japanese version. So my suggestion is to do Syncopation Live Compilation uploaded by "who?".
The first couple times I heard this song, 1. I didn't realize the song was all in English and 2. the beginning of the song I didn't know Su was singing, I thought it was a synth or something
Nice reaction! When I first heard this song I thought it was a sequel to "Atom Heart Mother" which I had been looking for for 50 years. My thought was that if possible, they should rework it into a 30 minute song. Then it would be a real sequel to Atom Heart Mother.
Nice reaction!thx! This song has only been performed twice so far. It is currently one of two English-only songs. However, the other song is a new song(The name of the song is Believing) included in this album, so for a long time this song has been the only English song. FDTD's 1st show was on 6/8/2017 at LA The Palladium. The second time is this video of the 10th consecutive performance at the Budokan, where the number of people was limited and the audience was unable to speak. Also, since FDTD was a song on an overseas label (now unknown), it did not make the list due to copyright issues, even though it was ranked in the tournament system when the 10 best BM songs were selected for the album. As we recognize that SU-METAL is a very good singer, but MOAMETAL is also very good. Please listen to MOAMETAL's headbanger (aka MOABANGER) sung at her 20th birthday party or GJ sung at the Budokan in 2021. Please continue to enjoy wandering around the BABYMETAL foxhole. From Japan
A lot of Babymetal songs have bits and pieces of English scattered though them, but its not always obvious. There are only four Babymetal songs that are all in English - The One (Eng. version), FDTD, Elevator Girl (Eng. version), and Believing. I'm not convinced that the transcription of the lyrics in the video is correct. There have never been any official lyrics released for this song, and no-one seems to be able to agree exactly what the lyrics are, so this is probably someone's best guess, so take it with a grain of salt. This song was the exclusive song for the international version of Metal Resistance, which is why its all in English. The Japanese edition had Syncopation instead; apparently Koba thought that Syncopation was "too Japanese" for international audiences, which is kind of weird because Syncopation is a very popular song among fans. FDTD has only ever been performed live three times, once at Hollywood Palladium in LA, and twice at 10 Babymetal Budokan (where this was filmed). The Nippon Budokan is the most prestigious live performance venue in Japan. It was built for the martial arts events at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, which is why it is the octagonal shape that it is. Babymetal have performed there on a number of occasions including the two night "Red Night/Black Night Apocalypse" show in 2014 and "10 Babymetal Budokan" in 2021, which celebrated the 10th Anniversary of Babymetal with ten shows over a three month period between January and April 2021.
The All about babymetal video is good - but worth finding the updated slightly more comedic one imo. There's a fancam version of FDTD with Yui in too - not the best quality but I still love it too.
Great reaction, thanks! "FDTD" is considered a rarity for many reasons: style, vocals, song's live history, etc. Regarding the musical style, this is a mix of dream trance with metal. The Everything You Need To Know About Babymetal guide by CrypticMisery is a great thing to react to - though it's a 45 minute video so some reactors have done it in 2 sittings, though most do it in 1 go. No. The "Unhelpful guide" is outdated. Also, it was made by someone who describe themselves as misandrist. The "Everything You Need To Know About BABYMETAL" guide by CrypticMisery is far better.
@@monkut I was just about to reply the same thing. Babymetal Death must be watched before the guide. I don't think there are any other real spoilers except maybe IDZ at Sonisphere.

FDTD for me is an artistry masterpiece. The mixing of this song together with Su-Metal synthesised vocals create a twilight zone atmosphere like it's coming from outer space 🚀. "FDTD" is exclusively available for the International audience and the Japanese audience got "Syncopation".

From Dusk Till Dawn:-
Overview Lyrics:-
One only waits
Something's going to come in one's way
I want to take every going on toward what to take
Something's going to come
In the air
Pray upward
In the air
In the air
On the border
Don't stop for love (something's going to come)
On the border
Don't stop for love (something's going to come)
Dream
Love
Forever
Heart
Gone night
Tomorrow
You wanna mean
Look at my face
More day after day
Then reach it's the same
So each day's so same
I wake from the dream
To keep on dreaming
The night is so sweet
But it's so late, break
All it's over
Never rule her
All it's over
Never rule her
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
In the air
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
In the air

I believe they made metal kingdom with parts of this song.
This might be an even better version and it's not even BABYMETAL:

The Everything You Need To Know About Babymetal guide by CrypticMisery is a great thing to react to - though it's a 45 minute video so some reactors have done it in 2 sittings, though most do it in 1 go. It explains everything, is amusing and we love seeing your reactions to them and would enjoy that too. Maybe do it as a special to celebrate 10k subs? 🦊🤘🤘🦊The Fox God informed me at the most recent secret cult meeting, that he guarantees 10k subs by the end of July if you keep reacting to his creation. You laugh now...🦊🤘🤣🤘🦊 #NotACult
No. The "Unhelpful guide" is outdated. Also, it was made by someone who describe themselves as misandrist.
The "Everything You Need To Know About BABYMETAL" guide by CrypticMisery is far better.
@@Egilkallig yep. Fair point. Changed it.
Make sure you guys watch the babymetal death legend 1997 before stepping into a guide.
@@monkut I was just about to reply the same thing. Babymetal Death must be watched before the guide. I don't think there are any other real spoilers except maybe IDZ at Sonisphere.
70 comment...sorry guys
Only SU-METAL can sing this song.
