Loved the video. I live in Dubbo. The helicopter in Nyngan was donated by the airforce because of the rescue work that i5 did in the Nyngan flood in 1990.
What a great and capable little machine! Scooters are underrated here in Australia. Although I now ride an adventure bike, there are times when I miss the relaxed simplicity of travelling by scooter. Mine was a 300cc, I had no idea that a 150cc was so punchy out on the highway!
It certainly withstood the challenge. And for whatever it lacked over such a prolonged adventure, , it sure made up for in fuel economy over the 4 days. Whatever Honda did to this engine, they fine-tuned it well enough to make it a smooth, comfortable, lightweight and fuel efficient touring machine.
Exactly right. I would happily do another similar trip on this same bike. I've got a few more adventure ideas up my sleeve, just waiting for COVID lockdown to be lifted and some nice weather.
Nice trip I was born in Nyngan & lived there up until December last year & can understand that straight road between Nyngan & Bourke. Have been thinking of having a look at the ADV 150 but think it would be just too small as I'm 193cm tall.
Hi Hope, we came over for a family holiday & fell in love with the area. Went back to Nyngan sold up & moved over with no Jobs is was a big risk but has paid off.
Great news, I added a ADV 150 to my garage today!!! My Grom with intake, exhaust, custom fashed ECU cam, oil spinner delete and oil cooler rips, but it can't cruise. The ADV 150 loves to cruise . It is going to get some major miles this year!!!!!
What a trip! I own a couple of big bikes a Suzuki Burgman 650 and a Kawasaki Voyager 1700. I'm amazed at someone making that trio in that size bike. I can see you had some luggage strapped to the back but I would want something much bigger like one of my bikes to do it. Well done - good video.
School holidays had just started so I took some basic camping gear (hammock, tarp, sleeping pad) in case I got caught out with no available accommodation, and I also took my drone. Didn't end up needing any of it, I could have easily gotten by with just the under-seat storage. A change of clothes, puncture repair kit, compact camera, and you'd be good to go.
Nicely made video. I used to live in some of the area you drove through. Just about to buy an Aprilia 300cc myself and looking forward to taking trips like this.

You'd think so, but it was only a few years back I rode my bicycle Sydney to Melbourne down the Hume Highway over 7 days, so a bit of repetitious monotony doesn't bother me. In fact I find it quite relaxing.

Hello,im ADV 150 owner from indonesia. I about touring around the world and first thing i watch about scooter on another country is this video from your channel and you give me an example how the adv in the another country
No issues really, I find the bike super comfy as long as I have my usual food/fuel/toilet stops and maybe stretch my legs for 5 minutes while doing so. Occasionally I'd stand up while riding to get some circulation back into my butt, but apart from that everything was fine.
That does sound like fun. I was very close to buying an Address 110 myself recently. I'd suggest - pack lightly, stop at every nice little cafe you see, keep in the left lane, watch out for meth-affected drivers, take lots of photos and enjoy every moment.
This bike looks great and the whole trip in general just relaxed! I'm wondering if they have the 350 version in Aus? Looking to purchase one to commute daily. Cheers mate!
No ADV350 in Australia unfortunately. We can't have nice things here. Australia even introduced new laws regarding ABS braking this year that resulted in the ADV150, Grom, Monkey, CT125, and a bunch of other awesome bikes simply being no longer available to purchase new anymore. The Forza NSS350 is available here, and I am seriously contemplating one as my next bike purchase, however it's difficult to find a Honda dealer with one on display in their showroom, as scooters are such an underappreciated niche market in Australia.
@@WildStuffThose big jap companies are simply too lazy to add ABS. That’s why the Chinese will soon swallow the Aus market. They already have the CFMOTO 126cc Papio with ABS. Amazing, huh. Fat lazy corporations deserve to lose their market share, just like Nokia did 😅
Question from a US viewer - What does the zig-zag on the road mean? It's seen in most of your town shots? Is it a warning to slow down? Or just be aware? Or some secret third meaning?
They're usually placed before a striped pedestrian crossing (a.k.a. zebra crossings) to help draw attention to them. Not all pedestrian crossings have the zig-zags, but big busy ones with clear markings usually do.
I live in a state here in the USA that doesn't require helmets while riding, so I choose not to. I would like to know if the windscreen actually helps keep wind off your face? Obviously you were still pelted with bugs. but was wondering if it actually made any difference. Currently have a cheap Chinese scooter with no windscreen, and I want to upgrade to the ADV150. I have all the other info I need, and your video was the most useful! But, the windscreens usefulness is the one thing the reviewers never seem to mention? Could you have managed without the full faced helmet? Or, would it have been miserable??
Coming from my previous bike (a Grom) with no screen at all, when I first rode the ADV150 with the screen in the lowered position I noticed that the wind which would normally be pummeling my upper body was being directed right at my face, which became uncomfortable at higher speeds. When I raised the screen into the higher position, then the bulk of that wind was directed over my head, but leaving enough to give me that wind-in-your-face feeling that we love riding for. I love to ride with my helmet visor open and just have sunglasses to protect my eyes, and I would gladly do so at just about any speed on the ADV150 (with the screen raised) except for the risk of taking a bug to the face. So I tend to close my visor at around 80km/h or faster. I know everyone's definition of comfortable or miserable is different, but I think if you kept the windscreen in the raised position and there were no bugs around, you'd be fine with just some eye protection.
@@WildStuff I just bought a new ADV-150 in Thailand. Our highway speed is 90kph. Overnight accomodation with en suite is about ฿650 or AUD $27 for a night. Touring is much cheaper in Thailand but the roads are very dangerous. We enjoyed watching your ride. Thank You. 🛵👍
Well , adv 150 still superior and problem free because i rode aerox 155 same as nmax 155 , got minor problem until i upgraded to adv 150 , you know why, i ride everyday and not give me any stress and more enjoy can go anywhere. Honda more solid actually
@@WildStuff I know all these places, I worked there in weewaa before 18 years ago and I miss very much the road from sydney to hunter valley to weewaa. I travelled it every month before. I miss it and will do it again if given a chance. RIght now, my plan is sydney to Perth, then next year LA to Boston via the southern roads, then up to North Dakota from New Mexico then east to boston. I am near 70, but not afraid to do it, tomorrow might not come. All the best Sir.
I did a bigger loop (12,500km, Melbourne>Sydney via coastal roads>GC>Cairnes>Darwin>Uluru>Adelaide>Melbourne) on a Grom 125 back in 2016, it was challenging but really fun! How does the scooter handle in mild dirt? I read that the standing position isn't too comfortable
The ADV150 is fine on a well-maintained dirt road but not cut out for off-roading at all in my opinion, though there's plenty of footage of people doing insane things on it. Correct, the standing position is awful as your feet are out in front of you, so if you stand up, you're squashing your waist against the handlebars. I just got myself a CT125 to make dirt roads and fire trails a little more comfortable, for future videos.
This is sufficient for two wheels touring today, no more big tenere , or mighty GS . Easy to ride, could speed up if needed, has more space for your stuff, and easy to maintain. If it were a bit bigger, say, 300 cc, it would be " the dual sports killer". Yes we have the ADV 750 on the market, but by watching this video , a 750 becomes an overkill.
@@WildStuff I wish they would figure out packing in just a bit more power but keep the weight and size of the Adv150. The new 350 version loses its clearance height and adds 115 pounds.
Great video! Thanks for documenting your excellent adventure on a scooter that seems to be very capable for a 150cc. Would love to see more adventure vids on the ADV. I've just put a deposit down on one, but will mostly be using it for my 10km work commute and only the occasional short highway squirt. Happy to see it is up to the task. Have you put a top box on at all? If so, what type of rack and box did you get? Can't seem to see any non ebay ones. All the best and hope the ADV is still treating you well!
Cheers Paul. No I haven't put a top box on it, because like you said, the only options so far seem to be eBay and I have no idea what will fit and what won't. Even my local Honda dealer (where I bought it from) couldn't find or suggest anything to suit. So on the rare occasions I need more storage I just tie a duffel bag to the seat like in this video.
I've only had it for just over a year now so I'm still in no position to comment on its long-term reliability As far as high speeds go, you might be interested in my video called "Honda ADV150 - 110km/h Expressway Test".
great vid... but you need to show the bike more.... cracking looking lil scooter.... they have the adv350 here in UK but i dont want to go that big..the bike looks too chunky... if they made a 250 i think id trade my burgman 200cc for one.....
@@WildStuff u used to own a 400cc piaggio x8 ... great engine.. not a bad scoot really... but... it was cumbersome to move around my garage.. i honestly think 300cc is the perfect combo of weight/size/scootyness..? im 55yrs old.... i have an nc700x in garage but i never use it since ive got a scooter... at that age ive done all the speed etc.. .. here in uk theres plenty country roads to explore at 40mph.. .. . but id love my 75 yr old father to have one of these adv 150.... its probably 125cc here in england...just a bit low powered
I can cruise at any speed right up to the maximum 110km/h on the expressway without any noticeable vibrations. It's a very comfortable bike. You will reach the bike's maximum speed before it becomes uncomfortable. You might also like my freeway test video: ua-cam.com/video/CgARU2g8egE/v-deo.html
@@satria_hardjakaprabon I have only owned a Grom before this to compare it to, but yes it it very comfortable. The seat is great and you're in a nice upright riding position with no strain on your arms. On the first day I pulled over a couple of times with a sore bum, and stretched my legs for 5 mins before continuing. By the 2nd and 3rd day my backside was used to it, and my usual fuel/food stops were enough to relieve any discomfort. The bike can easily sit on 110km/h (which is also the speed limit here) as long as there are no strong headwinds and the road is flat. With a tailwind or some downhill, it can do 115km/h. Most of this trip was done between 100 and 105km/h, because I wasn't in a rush to get anywhere, and I get better fuel economy at lower speeds.
It doesn't have a lot of top end power and you'll definitely notice that while going up a big hill while trying to maintain 100km/h. That's the nature of it being only 150cc and 15 horsepower. Not such an issue in lower speed-zones though.
@@WildStuff Yeah, I was afraid of the lack of top speed too. I will definitely pass on the ADV. I currently have a 2021 SYM Fiddle 3 200i, the ADV would be a huge downgrade in terms of power. I am getting the 2022 Suzuki Bergman 200 instead. It’s $700 more than the ADV.
i can't believe a scooter went far! our old car wouldn't have made it! i so want one now to zip around the city. p.s shout out to quirindi! my old watering hole!!
On this particular trip, most of the time I was sitting on about an indicated 100km/h, give or take 5km/h depending on my mood and the wind. There was no pressure from traffic behind me to go faster, because there was generally no traffic behind me.
As this was not a camping trip, I just ate in the various towns I passed through. Though there are ways of camping without a fridge or dehydrated foods.
When I got mine in mid-2020 it cost me $6300 Aussie dollars, ride away. I think they're up closer to the $7K mark now. Not sure what the USD price tag is.
@@thvtsydneylyf3th077 Here in Australia you can ride it with L plates as it's LAMS compliant (only 150cc), but you couldn't ride it for your P plate examination if you wanted to get a full manual license, as it's still only a scooter with CVT.
Okay I had to google that one, I'm guessing you mean a wide open throttle. I sat most of the time on about 100km/h, which is just short of wide open on a long flat road. 110-115 is wide open.
Great videos mate. Very informative and fun to watch. I just picked up my ADV 150 last Friday. What a great little bike!! Did you manage to get a luggage rack for it that is locally available or is it just all eBay stuff? Greetings from Central Coast NSW. Keep those videos coming.
No luggage rack yet for me. My local shop said they couldn't help me, and I'm still too confused about how they attach/connect to go ordering something random off eBay myself. So far I've just been tying a duffle bag to the rear grip bars when I need more gear.
@@WildStuff thanks for the reply. I’m having the same dilemma, looks like the eBay ones are the only option but don’t want to risk it as returning it to China is probably going to be more expensive than the original price. From what I’ve seen one would have to remove the pillion grab handles and screw in the new rack. I’ll let you know if I go for one of those and they actually fit.
in the Philippines... most of the motorcycle dealers in Metro Manila will not let you buy scooters like Yamaha NMAX 2020 or Honda ADV 150 in full payment "CASH" (SRP) you can only own it by FORCE installment 😅
Well that sucks. I bet that's just so they can charge extra interest and accounting fees, etc. I booked a test-ride on my ADV150 at my local Honda dealer, and when I arrived back at the store I paid the full amount in cash (AU$6290) and took it home.
Yeah I wouldn't mind one. My local Honda dealer couldn't source one at all, and I just get confused when looking online at all the various mount varieties.
Did I hear you say you could run 110K (68mph) into a headwind on a 150cc bike? I know you have much newer technology on your bike, but I am pretty sure my 250cc Helix won’t do that .
It would be difficult in a strong headwind, perhaps with some downhill slope to assist. You might be interested in the ADV150 Expressway test video on my channel, showing it happily sitting on 110kmh in regular conditions. I've found it won't exceed 116km/h regardless of how much tailwind or downhill I have, yet I've seen other channels showing it peaking at around 130km/h, though I have no idea how stock their bike was. Mine is completely stock. I also haven't yet compared the indicated speed against a GPS to see how much over-read my speedo might have.
Yes, that red is a bit of an unfair advantage. Though I'll be making Forza 350 content soon! (new bike). Keeping the ADV150 as a backup and for Menulog deliveries.

Hi, does your ADV150 have a brake lock for the rear brake? I brought a 2021 model and it's missing? Do you have a photo? Thanks, Mark
No brake-lock on mine (2020 model). Can be awkward trying to park on steep inclines - I just have to pick the right angle.
Hi lots of love from malaysia ❤️ would like to ask you this regarding about the belting . Did your belt easily break ?
No, I have had no mechanical issues with my scooter at all yet. It's still only a couple of years old at the moment.
A 300cc version would be amazing, or even a 250.
@@WildStuff I wish they would figure out packing in just a bit more power but keep the weight and size of the Adv150. The new 350 version loses its clearance height and adds 115 pounds.
@@motohound90 Amen to that, I noticed the dramatic increase in weight when I saw the announcement the other day.
@@WildStuff perfection to me would be 80 mph top end speed and being able to hold 75 mph while still at same weight and size.
I'm debating on this or the 2022 Yamaha Zuma. Did you drive or hear about the Zuma
I don't think we have the Zuma here in Australia so I only heard about it recently on UA-cam.
Bring in your thoughts about long term reliability of the ADV 150 and about top speeds and stability at high speed. Thank you 🙏🏻
I've only had it for just over a year now so I'm still in no position to comment on its long-term reliability
As far as high speeds go, you might be interested in my video called "Honda ADV150 - 110km/h Expressway Test".
@@WildStuff cheers mate! I’m literally confused 🤔 whether to buy a scooter >=300cc or Royal Enfield Meteor 350
great vid... but you need to show the bike more.... cracking looking lil scooter.... they have the adv350 here in UK but i dont want to go that big..the bike looks too chunky... if they made a 250 i think id trade my burgman 200cc for one.....
My thoughts exactly. The 350 is almost 55kg heavier than the 150 - it's no longer a 'small bike'.
Hi handsome. It's a beautiful trip. Question , did you have a vibration issue on your adv150?
No, nothing out of the ordinary. I had no issues with the bike at all.
Those prices at the end are attractive.
Hi, which one of the best tire for sport touring scooter (12” velg)? I am Vespa Matic user🍻
No idea, I'm still a newbie to this myself. My scooter still has the stock tires that came with it when I bought it.
What cruising speed is comfortable without maxing out the engine ?
I sat on 100-105km/h for most of this trip. The limit of this bike in flat windless conditions is just under 120.
What is the comfortable maximum speed without noticeable vibrations for this scooter?
I can cruise at any speed right up to the maximum 110km/h on the expressway without any noticeable vibrations. It's a very comfortable bike. You will reach the bike's maximum speed before it becomes uncomfortable.

what if you have to take a dump in the middle of nowhere??
How did it feel after sitting on the bike for a long period of time? Any soreness or pain?
On day 1 I was a bit sore towards the end. But on day 2, 3 and 4, I was fine by just stretching my legs at the usual food/fuel stops.
serious question: does it feel comfortable riding that for hours of long trip?
and what is your average speed on the long empty roads
Wild Stuff Thank you very much for your detailed information its helpful, im planning to buy it for my daily commuter in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia
I’m on the fence with the 2022 ADV, I’ve heard the ADV’s lose power going uphill. Have you experienced that?
@@sneat2028 I've got a video called "Honda ADV150 - 110km/h Expressway Test" if you're interested.
@@WildStuff I’ve checked out your other video, appreciate your content. Out of curiosity, how much do you weigh? If you don’t mind me asking? 😀
@@sneat2028 Just over 90kg, and I had some lightweight camping gear and a bottle of rum in my luggage too.
ADV IS SO popular here in Philippines
i can't believe a scooter went far! our old car wouldn't have made it! i so want one now to zip around the city. p.s shout out to quirindi! my old watering hole!!
Why not Karen, after all at least one guy has done Australia to the UK on a Honda C90. 🙂
Hi mate what’s your average speed?
On this particular trip, most of the time I was sitting on about an indicated 100km/h, give or take 5km/h depending on my mood and the wind.
There was no pressure from traffic behind me to go faster, because there was generally no traffic behind me.
ahhh... i'm going to sell my new ktm 200 for this adv150. looks nice and great for new biker and for adventuring.
More videos.
No, not lavender, Pattersons Curse....
I supposed you have to eat dehydrated food or eating out all the time since you could not carry a fridge :).
As this was not a camping trip, I just ate in the various towns I passed through. Though there are ways of camping without a fridge or dehydrated foods.
how much is it?
When I got mine in mid-2020 it cost me $6300 Aussie dollars, ride away. I think they're up closer to the $7K mark now. Not sure what the USD price tag is.
@@WildStuff Thanks mate 👍. Australian btw…
anything on a cbr500r?
Not quite sure what you mean?
This video is about my ADV150. Are you asking if I also have a CBR500R?
@@WildStuff yeh i guess, do you have one, any videos with it?
@@thvtsydneylyf3th077 No, I only have the ADV150 at the moment. Maybe someday down the track possibly....
@@WildStuff can you ride that on your L's for a motorcycle licence (manual)?
@@thvtsydneylyf3th077 Here in Australia you can ride it with L plates as it's LAMS compliant (only 150cc), but you couldn't ride it for your P plate examination if you wanted to get a full manual license, as it's still only a scooter with CVT.
WFO all the time ?

5 foot 7. I can't double flat foot it from my usual seating position but if I shuffle forward a few inches to where the seat lowers down I can.
@@WildStuff I was thinking if this will be small for me as I'm 6 feet. Thanks for replying.
@@wizendwizard It should be fine for someone 6 feet tall.
in the Philippines... most of the motorcycle dealers in Metro Manila will not let you buy scooters like Yamaha NMAX 2020 or Honda ADV 150 in full payment "CASH" (SRP) you can only own it by FORCE installment 😅
Well that sucks. I bet that's just so they can charge extra interest and accounting fees, etc.
I booked a test-ride on my ADV150 at my local Honda dealer, and when I arrived back at the store I paid the full amount in cash (AU$6290) and took it home.
i think u need box for your adv
Yeah I wouldn't mind one. My local Honda dealer couldn't source one at all, and I just get confused when looking online at all the various mount varieties.

Why can't we see a cng or hydrogen fueled scooty????
If I worked in the renewable energy sector I might have an answer for that...

I think if more people ask for it, the more companies will focus on making such vehicles.
That hotel in US would be $50

Yes, that red is a bit of an unfair advantage. Though I'll be making Forza 350 content soon! (new bike).
