UPDATE: I took a couple cities off Indonesia, but couldn't maintain the war effort vs their bombers and they refuse to make peace. GG, learned a ton about how modern era combat works. Looking forward to playing a new one with better land and a less scuffed early game :)
You don't think you could have gotten a victory? Do you think you would have lost your original cities to them?
Not going rationalism is absolutely doable on difficulties 6 and 7, if your growth is good. Especially on a map type like large islands, which the ai does not understand how to play on at all. Not so much on deity though
Doable? Or like, strong?
@@suedeciviii7142 Strong (assuming Korea is not in the game). Population= science. The Patronage policy Scholasticism can be helpful if you need a boost. I can win an Immortal science or domination victory fairly easily without Rationalism. The other policy trees are not be underestimated. The happiness found in Patronage, Commerce, and/or Exploration may be all you ever need!
@ not yet bro, they're going to modify that as you know later one with other episodes just like they did with other Civs 5 and 6
Rationalism is just too strong imo to skip unless you know what your doing. Without a doubt the best policy tree by far.
Yes, Rationalism is still the strongest, but for a map type like large islands, it can be completely unnecessary even for the science victory. If you make it so submarines on this map type, (you will) the only way you can lose is if you throw on purpose
Pretty good play through overall couple mistakes. I didn’t watch the whole thing, don’t know if anyone mentioned or if you noticed but you were settled on river. So the adjacent tile to your city was fresh water and you put your academy big mistake. Save fresh water tiles for civil service farms and place academy on tiles with no fresh water or sometimes horses or cattle.
Good call! Yeah, that's just +1 food at basically no cost.
I started another game last time and won on immortal. Deity is next.
@ yeah I figured you’d beat immortal, I think you already have what it takes to win diety. You’re just missing a couple more advanced strategies that might make the difference in you beating a bad land start or runaway civ.
not my taste either for beyond earth version, but yea I got it as part of the whole series, keep up the good work, civ is my favorite game.
how can you play this after civ 7 announcement, for me I stopped playing all series except 3 and bye the way I love your civ videos, truly appreciated it.
Which announcement? For me it is the greed of all the DLC. I can't support this level of anticonsumerism. It boarders on false advertising. You think you are getting a game with all these civs and wonders etc... But a lot of it is dlc.
Civ 7 is going to be garbage, thoughever
@ take it easy bro , it's not you gonna have to give it a try as you know
Civ 5 requires eUI bro
Really crappy start. You're a better player than I to stick with it.
Or a worse player than you not to recognize it :)
