The 7 minutes version was made by an amateur "DJ", and is NOT RELEVANT. The 4 minute 37 second (not a minute longer) is the version.
EWF is easily in the top ten bands, EVER, if not top 5. Saying the words 'Chili Peppers' is an insult. Compared to contemporaries like Fishbone or later, Rage Against the Machine - CP is a top 40 band. But EWF is on an astral plane of their own, period.
Don't forget The Cammadors
Go Phillip Bailey!!!!!!
Lol - there were 9 - 12 members of the band. Yes, Phil sang (AND PLAYED CONGAS) on it. But, that's it. He didn't write or arrange it either. Say, "GO MAURICE WHITE". After your research, you'll understand why I say that.
The male on the left: I guess your parents never taught you to carry tissues so you can wipe your nose. Now thanks to covid, we dont have to shake hands like yours. Damn!
I like this one but it's only 3 for me. You guys have too much fun! Keep up the good .. work?
Cool and The Gang - cherish the love. It was very popular.
KC and the Sunshine Band - please don't go . My fav of theirs.
Climax Blues Band - I Want You
Haha, thanks! And yes, it's work; but the enjoyable kind.

BOYS BOYS BOYS...this is NOT funk nor soul...this is r and b / disco
Beatles and Elvis don’t remember which came first lol..
The Chili Peppers are funk? Or are confusing it with punk?
Free from Ohio players
Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes were not funk, the were soul/rnb. James Brown, Parliament Funkadelic, Brothers Johnson, Ohio Players, GAP band is funk.
Harry Melvin and the Blue Notes were NOT funk. They were doo wop first and soul/R&B later on.
Im calling BS on term "FIRST LISTEN"
Who the hell doesnt know the song september or at least heard snipets of it....but knows the more obscure song fantasy? I find that to be completel utter BS
Cover don't sound like this. I will say a heard a very good cover understand, they wrote, produce and vocals can't be duplicated. if you can't write it, produce it, it don't count. Fantancy 8 plus. Listen more to the production. EWF anin't never and will never be a 5. You don't have a clue.
The red hot chili peppers do not play funk music. Harold melvin & the blue notes is strictly r&b. Funk is like the fatback band, bootsy collins, parliament & funkadelic too many name. EWF started off the doing jazz music then crossover doing r&b funk pop even fusing rock universal band SMH.
The disco kind of funk never did much for me, in general. September is a banger. This one, not so much.
Update: This is not disco. Sorry, if that offended you.
Brax1982: Thank you for noting this is not disco. I looked all down the comments to see if anyone would know the truth that EW&F is not disco. I grew up during the 70's and I used to listen to disco all night because at that time that was pretty much all that was on the radio after 10 p.m. Disco was a very monotonous type music and EW&F was anything but that.
You are absolutely right, NOT DISCO
HArold Melvin wasn't funk.
Not funk...soul or R&B.... definitely not funk.
Wtf idles this know Earth Wind and Fire . You lost me.
Tower of Power is the best funk soul band
