I'm 99% sure our test vehicle had surround view as standard in the R-Line model... will have to check the spec sheet. If it's not there, I totally agree with you on that.
I think £49,000 for the tech isn't bad, however for R-Line Tech you pay £55,000 base and with a few options.. basically £75,000. Big money.. but lots of car for it.
Currently drive a 2016 R-Line, have got the new model on order and looks great, only disappointing thing is the panoramic roof and a few little other things are not standard on the new model but yet the list price is up by around £6k in 3 years. Have gone for it as was looking at Disco or GLC as an alternative but the Touareg although it’s a bit is a guzzler for a big car it packs the punch when you need it getting out of junctions etc.
I found the new one actually pretty decent on MPG. 22-28 around town, which considering the luxury and power is very good. Was it just the power which made you choose it over the competition?
TomKentMusic travel down to Spain a lot and it’s very comfortable on a long journey for me and the kids, plenty of space for everyone, so it beats the GLC on that, the Discovery sport has the space but doesn’t seem to have the oomph or the same quality interior of the Touareg, but then the Touareg is a lot more expensive to buy, but on a contract hire basis all 3 are around the same mark so based on that the Touareg has to win 👍 Ps I had heard the new one is slightly better on the diesel than the old one so 🤞🏻
Beautiful? Capable? Practical? Technologically advanced? What do you think....?
looks beautiful :33
it is brilliant
Err.. no option for an area view camera on any derivatives, only rear view camera , at this price point I would have expected that.

Ours had 'Area View' which is a 360 degree camera - birds eye, kerb view etc.
this was superb, i had no idea just how advanced the touareg was. thanks tom!!
So very very advanced!
absolutely beautiful mate, really nice. cant believe base price is 49k though mental! the touareg does look great now tho

It’s a great machine, if a little pricey but entirely worth it.

It’s understated, but beautiful anyway.
