Most of these websites that you apply for a tech job require you to sign up for a chance to even apply for the job. They ask for race, ethnicity, religion, and even some ask sexual preference. Now I thought it was Human Resources looking at if the candidate qualified or not; not those other "Qualifying" aspects that I've listed in the previous sentence. If it truly did not matter then why do they ask. IBM for example ask for race. You can put I "prefer not to disclose that information" you application may go straight in the trash. It also is down to the Human Resource Managers. Are they really doing their jobs or are they informed to offer the job to minorities but state that the minority does not meet their qualifications. It could also be that the resume is poorly written and does not highlight the work from the employees previous military IT job for example (since he or she may have worked on shit for the White House and now can't get hired elsewhere because they have to remain quiet about specifics). When you're military in the Tech Field it is difficult to booster your resume with all of the accomplishments when most of the shit you've done is T/S clearance shit. Back to race inequality; within the Tech world, which is a hard case to prove but kind of an easy argument to make when these tech companies are asking about race and other things that does not pertain to the job. I had graduated in the Top 5 in my class in a top university for the program at the time (Arizona State). I couldn't get work anywhere but as a teaching assistant in a college, which I did for five years. I went back to school for the master's degree, and in 1995 I obtained it. Again, no one would hire me. I ended up working for 10 years as a computer salesperson/tech representative, making peanuts. Started my own business, failed twice, and have had my own computer repair shop since 1997. The reason why some groups have no representation is simple: there is no one to give them a chance. If you belong to a minority group that has 0 people doing the hiring, you will never get hired. Same for business: if you don't have anyone of your same background working in the banks or financing ventures, you're SOL. Even Black people have finally some who can give them a hand, but for us Natives it's still very difficult. Back in the 80s and 90s, it was brutal.
