The thumbnail picture shows a propane carb on top of the engine. For the past 12 years, the biggest propane conversion shop in Canada, based in Toronto, only uses a LPG port fuel injection system. They recommend leaving the gasoline system in place as a backup fuel. For the past 5 years, it's illegal to install a propane carb on an auto engine. You gain at least 15 percent better MPG with the propane fuel injection system compared to using a carb. Since LPG is about 105 octane, you get increased performance and it's very clean burning, leaving no carbon inside the engine.
Propane has about 15% less BTU values than gasoline, so this 97% power to that of gasoline is not true. Propane has a higher octane than regular gas so you can raise the compression ratio and advance the timing to help, but power will be 15% less than gasoline.
