    I really appreciate that you took the time to record this and talk about the subject. I started doing gig work to pay for a $1500 emergency surgery for a severely abused rescue that is a hamster. I never imagined spending that much for an animal that only lives a couple of years but the things this little guy went through was so sad and the only other option the vet gave me was not one I felt he deserved.
    I tried gofundme and it had very few shares and not very much in donations so I am struggling doing doordash, instacart and uber eats deliveries and I am exhausted, I truly understand where you are coming from and I hope that things look up for you! Your videos are so informative and I am really glad I found you!

      Thank you Jen! Poor little hamster , I used to have one so I understand the love. I'm doing what I can like many others so let's keep going

    Go for it Ash! I know it’s not an enjoyable topic to address but you are facing it and not backing down. Get that money no matter how you are treated by the apps and customers. Ideally the ad revenue will also increase for extra payments. Russ

      Thank you Russ! That is definitely the plan. It's going to take some time but I am pretty determined.

    You said gig work is 'mentality draining.' I get that, especially with apps being slower than they were a few years ago. It seemed so easy back then to make good money compared to now. It's more stressful now because every time we turn those apps on we don't know if it's going to be busy or slow and if we're depending on that money there's pressure on us.
    You also mentioned being alone doing this and it can be tough to be motivated to get out there after a few consecutive bad shifts. That's where others pushing us can help give us that motivation to get back out there. Plus if we're communicating with others that might be in a similar situation as you we may learn about different gigs outside of food delivery that might be available in your area. Sometimes we all need a support system.

      Exactly! I definitely get negative anxiety when I think about how I might not get the money I want so I tell myself it's not even worth going out but additionally having others around to remind us things are okay Is what's needed for many of us in this line of work because it's not easy doing this all alone but I'm trying.

    Wow! I didn't know you were doing this series. I was just packing my things for a major moving again due to a minor health issue. Moving is done and working towards my health. I hope things work out for you. Interest rates are ONLY something good when they work in your favor, AKA accruing investments. A banker friend of mine once said, "ask money to absolutely anyone but the bank" and he's right about that.

      @DashWithAshinCanada  Місяць тому

      Yeah I started it over a month ago and I have stuck with it, it's not too bad actually considering it gives people something different to see with all my earnings together and it gives me motivation to go out and do the work.

    Hi Ash,
    I wanted to write you this message to send you all my support for your challenge of saving $1,000 a month to pay off your debts. I'm currently in a similar situation myself. In fact, I made the decision at the end of June to temporarily live in my vehicle. Today marks day 54 of my life in my vehicle. I’m planning to probably complete a 90-day challenge. So far, everything is going well, but obviously, as you can imagine, we all face comments, criticisms, or concerns from those around us, whether it’s family, friends, or even followers on social media. But I just want to tell you that I completely understand your situation, and I know what it’s like-the weight of debt on our shoulders, thinking about it every day until it becomes an obsession. We just want to be free from that burden. I encourage you to keep going. You’ll see, the light at the end of the tunnel is coming. Have a great day.

      Thank you for opening up , I couldn't imagine having that situation but you seem like a very strong person! It is a lot to think about but at the end of the day. We got this. I truly appreciate the comment

    Best wishes in your challenge, looking forward to the content. I believe we're on a similar journey....
    My spouse and I accumulated considerable debt when she was battling cancer. Compound interest is a predatory beast that grows to consume you. Side hustling not only helps me manage my debt, but also keeps me from dwelling on it.... it's a win/win.

    You should get this book. “Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey” You will find all answers of your questions and concerns. I personally suggest getting audiobook. You will learn a lot.

    Great video. Debt is like slavery and indentured servitude. It keeps you hungry and constantly working.
    Credit cards make debt accumulation so easy, because you are not paying for the items with cash.

    Im trying to monetize youtube so i can maybe take a day off once in a while. I am in consumer proposal because of CRA and trying to get myself into a better position. You got this ASH! If your credit is already suffering maybe look into consumer proposal. Your car and home are protected. But either way you got this! Debt can be stressful.

    • @DashWithAshinCanada
      @DashWithAshinCanada  2 місяці тому

      Monetizing UA-cam is good if the RPM is decent. I can say that I agree it will likely help. I'm not in any situation that my credit is suffering , luckily but if I don't fix things quickly , maybe that might be a thing that would happen. CRA is tough to deal with so I feel for you.

    • @RKOracle
      @RKOracle 2 місяці тому

      @@DashWithAshinCanada they are awful. We had a payment plan and I was following through and out of nowhere they filed a legal claim and said they can take my home and car. After we already agreed on a plan. So I had no choice than to go CP and possible bankruptcy if they won't accept.
      My day job is spiritual coaching so my youtube channel plays into that a lot. I just want enough coming in to take a day off. I'd be happy with 200 a month 🤣
      Driving for now.
      I'm glad your still in a decent position with your credit. Hopefully you can get everything sorted and dine sooner than later. What a system we live in hey?

    Ash, if it makes you feel less bad, I’m alone almost always, both my best friend who’s 33 and me (I’m 37), at least you got your partner and a kid, things can be a LOT worse than you think, heck I would rather be in debt than be alone.
    But, do what motivates you and what’s important to you, at least you’re a responsible parent, some people shouldn’t be parents :)

      Oh I am not denying my living situation, content with that but my debt brings things down for the whole family in the long run if I don't correct it. Yes that is very true, I am very proud of my choices when it comes to my son's and even my nephews financial security. Definitely something I won't give up on.
