Ngọc Xuyến - Saigon has a lot of Banh Mi but for me this one really is something different. Doing all the cold cuts correctly and infusing so much flavor into each one. The nem chua has to be my favorite bye far. The bread here is also different from other breads you get in Saigon as it has a pull and density to it.

Bánh Tráng Dừa Mạch Nha- A sweet treat with the addition of the barley syrup. The texture of the banh trang, coconut together with the sweetness made this a snack which I kept coming back for to eat.

my husband and I binge watched your Vietnam videos last weekend. We were so impressed with your vietnamese vocabs, and your ability to eat spicy food. Then we're even more impressed because you like to eat the food that normally foreign people do not like to eat: like several types of fermented food, sate, etc, you know the ones with really strong taste and smells.

That snack at the end is called "bánh tráng kẹo mạch nha" which is "sponge rice paper with barley sugar". It was my no.1 snack of ALL TIME when I was a kid, yet I haven't had them for like 10 years and totally forgot about its existence. You really brought me down my memory lane with that for sure. This is why I love your videos so much. Those nostalgic moments, those memories ... Tomorrow I'll definitely go look for that lady. Thank you, Max, I really do !

Way to go Max! This place offers endless entres and sides. I used to eat at Picaddilly, a caferia- styled restaurant. You can pick any entre with 2 sides and drink, price ranges depend on the entre. It's cheaper to eat in Vietnam, food is flavorful and delicious. Wish I'm there...

"Cơm bình dân" is the 2nd family meal of most Vietnamese people when they cannot go home. It's good and cheap. (Tip for you For dishes that have a sauce such as 'heo quay cải chua' ...you should pickle the chili into the sauce to increase the flavor of the dish ) . Enjoy the meal !

Some facts about cơm bình dân:
Its name litterally means "for everyone", and the meal price is also very affordable
If you eat cơm bình dân in rural areas, you will find the food a bit more salty, and some place will have free rice refill
That’s the extra minerals for the hard workers who had a sweaty working day 😅
