I live in America and I know of Shaun King. I'm very glad that he has chosen Islam and I wish him the best but he does come with some history and baggage.
He has supported causes like BLM who aren't what they appear to be and going forward I hope he steers clear of such affiliations because they don't represent Islamic values! I do wish him the best going forward.
I have become more confident ever since I've started watching your show. You both are an asset to the Ummah!

I think that's a critical for a Muslim journalist because there is one thing being a journalist but having strong Iman and being guided by the scholars ensures that your journalism doesn't sway from the beautiful teachings of Islam. Also, I think you have inspired a lot of young people to take up journalism as a profession. I didn't think of it as a serious career but after what I've seen happen in Gaza, it is particularly important that we have good professional independent journalism like 5 pillars Alhumdulillah. My Grandfather fought in the 2nd world war. Because there was a famine in Bengal and he had to drop out from college to join the Army to feed his family. I am guessing a large part of Indian veterans joined the war because of similar reasons.

How about British Muslims unite to vote at the coming GE for parties that put in their manifestos the promise to hold a referendum to change the First Past the Post election system to a fairer system like proportional representation, etc? That would change the whole political dynamics of the UK and give every British voter a greater political leverage.

He never said he loved the homosexual lifestyle, or that it's halal. He just said he wouldn't oppose it. How is that worthy of takfir? In Pakistan we turn a blind eye to transgenders. It's rampant there. There were prostitutes at the tone of the Prophet peace be upon him. There's are stories about prostitutes going to heaven after giving dogs water from a very limited dry well and things like this. Sexual impropriety is common, it's tolerated in the sense that mobs aren't assembled at every little thing.
Again what would you guys have everyone do? You got a lynch mob assembled to swap every gay and prostitute?

The CONTEXT of this passage shows Pilate seeking to escape the responsibility for putting Jesus to death. Pilate believed Jesus was innocent and had not committed a crime deserving crucifixion. Matthew 27:24 notes, "So when Pilate saw that he was gaining nothing, but rather that a riot was beginning, he took water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying, 'I am innocent of this man's blood; see to it yourselves.'"
In response, the PARTICULAR Jewish crowd demanding the crucifixion of Jesus declared, "His blood be on us and on our children!" (Matthew 27:25). They responded to Pilate's attempt to escape responsibility by accepting the blame upon themselves and their own children. This response showed the degree to which the Jewish crowd desired the death of Jesus. They were willing to take the blame for it, including punishment upon their own children. At this point, Pilate gave in to their demands and allowed the crucifixion to proceed.
Some interpreters believe this punishment literally did take place among the Jews. Many of them and their children were killed when Jerusalem was totally destroyed by the Romans about forty years later in the year AD 70. That was essentially the end of the Jewish nation. From that time, the Jews were scattered and persecuted until the nation of Israel was restored in 1948.

So?? Trans and lgbt people are humans, they deserve the same human rights as Muslims do, we cannot expect to be accepted and respected if we cannot respect and accept other people too. People who respect islam ARENT muslim and dont believe in it, but they still respect us as humans, why cant we extend the same courtesy to those lgbt people? Absolutely. In this secular society we should all be afforded the same rights. However, that does not mean muslims should be promoting their sinful, disgusting lifestyle, just like we wouldn't expect Sadiq Khan to be advocating for people to drink alcohol or take drugs. Whilst we can live in peaceful coexistence, we should not be forced to be silenced or coerced into not saying our views about it being a sinful lifestyle. Neither should we accept our kids being taught that filth in schools.
People can do whatever they like BEHIND their closed doors,and not force it up all of us, and stop indoctrinating children.
