Looks like he slipped but recovered gracefully
To be honest for me it looks like he made an error and than tryed to save himself by quickly changing the weight of his center in order to get a somewhat safe dismount instead of risking his body and creer as an athlet.
if you work 20+ years and are so good at what you do even the people looking for imperfections on the smallest scale give you the benefit you earned that decision weather it was a mistake or not. so many of these top sports athletes get shit on over and over again by the organizations running it its so nice to see someone catch a break
The mis hand placement will eat him alive over time, not a genuine win. He knows it. Though he played it off well, he even rose in dissatisfaction.
That was obviously a F up that he sold! Idk how that should have effected his score? I mean he was able to sell an F up as a shitty dismount so maybe he deserved the benefit of the doubt, but on the other hand, it was an epic fail so... 🤷
I mean it looked messed up but shouldn't have hurt him as badly as it did. Four places down? For the fucking dismount?
Eh? Which also means that he scored pretty high than others cuz it’s still 4th place and others had their dismount counted
I'm no gymnast but that defo looked like his execution of it was basically saving himself from some mistake and if he doesn't dismount in alinement with the rules then like everyone else they have suck it up
It looked like a graceful, accidental fall that was quickly turned into a dismount.
As someone who doesn’t watch gymnastics, that dismount looked 100% unintentional. Clearly, he fell and played it off. Shouldn’t have counted.
One of the most disgraceful calls in gymnast history.
That was a fall, not a dismount.
TBF I do think being the greatest of anything earns you a little bit of the benefit of the doubt
I agree with you
People named „Kohei“ are basically always incredibly gifted with talent
Not an expert but that looks like he felt gracefully saving the fall
Idk, it looked like he fell off
Still a dismount, whether you fall off or not
@@largestbrain true but less points makes sence since it looked really scuffed
For those who wonder why his record would give him the benefit of doubt, look at it as if it where a banks credit, the more you have, the more money you can borrow. So the better your reputation, the best outcomes you can get form others.
Kinda looks like he didn’t intend to dismount
I hope his coach actually does gymnastics. I've been apart of so many teams where the "coach" ain't ever do the sport they where coaching.
He clearly fell and saved himself.
To go from 4th to 2nd was unfair. He didn't land it properly and should have been penalised for it. To knock Great Britain off Silver was completely unjustified.
Bros a Britain meat rider 🍖🚴
That's not a dismount. It's a sloppy fall off the apparatus and he put his hands up at the end.
Sloppy fall but stuck the landing and made it look good
It’s still a dismount. It was sloppy but he did all the things for it to be considered one. Plus he didn’t fall. So it is considered a dismount. Didn’t know why they just didn’t take points off his execution though
Technically it seems like a valid discount, but he definitely messed up and did his best to recover as he fell of the horse.
