- We go out to a Korean restaurant to have some Korean grilled fish and soup. We're having Samchi Gui (삼치구이), which is Spanish mackerel, and some budaejjigae, which is "army" stew. Absolutely delicious stuff here :D

Whenever I'm having a sad day, I make myself a peanut butter jelly sandwich and watch your videos and I cheer up afterwards. You two are the best. :)
What a wholesome comment ♡
Good for you!! Cutest comment I’ve ever read ❤️
Future Simon and Martina sent me here.
Me too
You know, out of all the Food Adventure videos I've seen from you guys, this is probably the first restaurant where the people running the stores seem happy and I was surprised but thrilled that the guy serving you the food also had a good sense of humor. It was cool of him to laugh at the way Martina was trying to present each dish to the viewers.
I Watch your videos almost everyday before I go to sleep
I love the smile at 2:53 as he sets the food on the table. I don't see this often in America (I'm not saying it doesn't happen, it's probably just the restaurants I visit in my area) but I often see this is foreign media. Cooks and food servers always seem to be proud of what they make, they put effort into each meal and serve it to the customers with pride. As an artist, it really makes me happy. Like they're showing something they worked really hard on that they want people to enjoy. :)
Seriously, why am I marathoning these FAPFAP episodes at 1 in the morning?! Aghh!! Sooo Hungryyy T___T"
omg that is exactly what i'm doing now...and my stomach is growling:( I wanna eat Korean fooooood!
I've been rewatching a lot of your old videos from Korea. Love all your vids.
You guys are like some sort of sorcerers because I swear, every time I think I've seen all your videos, you guys leave a link to one I've never seen ! I'm like how is this possible !?!? Haha Endless entertainment wizards !!
1:06 I love that Simon makes a My Big Fat Greek Wedding reference!!!

I HAVE GONE THRU THE WHOLE PLAYLIST I LOVE YOU GUYS! YALL MAKE ME HAPPY ON DAYS WHERE IM NOT THAT HAPPY AND IM LEARNING TO BUILD A LADDER AND TO HELP OTHERS BUILD LADDERS TOO! I LOVE YOU BOTH SO MUCH OK BYE
I always watch these when I'm lying in bed and am so hungry. Why must I do this to myself!!!!
I love how you guys are not afraid to try new foods!
Ok 1. How CUTE was that waiter?? Omg...and 2. Did anyone else see the shape of her mic? Just saying!! 하하
I'm from the Caribbean, where seafood is very common, but I don't enjoy it at all! What I did enjoy was your awesome video!! Fun and fresh as always guys. Great job!!
I find it funny when people say that not everyone in Korea is super pretty... And almost all the Koreans I've seen in your videos are soooooooo pretty I just wanna hold them... So pretty ;__;
7:30 jump cut = magical disappearing car
I hadn't realized how uncommon it is to eat 'bone-in' fish in Canada but Martina says it is all the time...
I grew up eating fish whole in Northern Ontario. Fish fry's all year long! Bones really aren't scary. haha
I love to watch your food adventure for awesome people. Pls make more 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🤗🤗🤗
Only thing we learned from their argument: Beavers are vegetarians.
Right because we all know how well vegetables grow in the arctic and that's why we see polar bears chowing down on carrots instead of dead seals. Seriously, bears are omnivores. They will eat anything that is edible up to and including you if it strikes their fancy. For some people this is the last lesson they ever learn.
Harald Eigerson yes.. And beavers are herbivores.
Harald Eigerson I said BEAVERS not bears
cowgirlhowdy26
Okay you got me. I should've read the post correctly instead of going with a knee jerk reaction and shooting off my big fat mouth.
I miss the good old days ... after seeing Simon being alone in the vid today 😔
martina your eyemake-up looks awesome there!
the budae jjigae looks great too... i can already smell it...
I gotta admit, I feel stupid when they were doing the sexy food porn shots. I was like 'Whoa, the fish has spice in the shape of stars?!'
MORE WANKING!!! definitely my favorite videos
lol rewatching this in Jan 2014! :D I don't think I said it before, but I think that looks like a beaver too, Simon. =)
Rewatching in Jan 2015
You look so pretty in this video Martina!! The way you did your makeup makes your eyes pop. So cute!
I thought fish was always served whole /:
you always make me soo hungry after watching the videos!!!!
i would say the logo is a otter
I'm watching your vid at 2am and I'm totally mouth watering at all the food. Looks yuuuuummmmyyy :-)
yu-gi-oh... xD
went to seoul and jeju island last summer, and as a muslim, i cant miss to eat fresh seafood and sashimi in jeju. on the first day in jeju, we had our late lunch at a grilled fish restaurant, in a famous food street in jeju. PHEWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. it was so awesome, so juicy, so so so fresh ( the restaurant is practically in front the beach), price so reasonable, and the fact that i cant find it somewhere else make me feel that I MUST GO TO KOREA AGAIN !!!!!!!
Oh, my God, Martina looks so young in this one xD
But anyway.. I love your videos, especially these kinds of video lol it's like I can get to see Korea through Simon and Martina's eyes! I'll probably never get a chance to actually go myself lol thanks for sharing, can't wait to see more :)
That restaurant was empty... Where I'm from, if a place that serves food has no customers already eating inside, it's a big no-no. And almost always for good reason... (speaking from experience L0L) xD
Theodora well, this isn't where you're from.. lol
Pretty sure that's a global thing. If a place doesn't have consumption, you can't really expect the best and freshest, for obvious reasons.
then again when you go record a show, you should be respectful and go during a off time like 10am or so.
True!
djjaewon Exactly that! This place is totally bumping right at lunch time and dinner so we always aim to film when we know it's less busy. :D
Martina your korean is AMAZING!!! What yall were eating looks delicious!
This is awesome! My dad will sure love this!
OMG! You guys make me crazy~! I'm a korean who live in canada. I missing those delicious korean food. ㅜㅜ
..omg, idk why i keep watching your videos. they just keep making me hungrier and hungrier.
LOL Simon pwned in the end! I love you two so much, quite possibly my favorite youtubers ever :D
yummy! the staff looked really friendly.
Awww, the waiter/cook looked so proud when he put the food on your table, that was cute haha
I'm half korean and I grew up back in forth between korea, kenya, and the US. When I lived in Korea I lived in Seoul but I visited everywhere.
I've seen 고구마 as a side dish, but I've never seen mashed potatoes
I bet martina's mom started crying when martina said she loved her mom. It was very sweet~
@stephanoya MMMMM we LOOOOVVVEEEE 청국장 but most Koreans think foreigners don't like it because of the strong smell. It's SO SO SO DELICIOUS!!!
I love all the Spudgy animations in your vids!!
lol, love your videos they're very entertaining and informative.
i love simon and martina they are so awesome hope you have a safe trip in japan cant wait to see your many adventures ^_^
Love how Simon was eating while Martina was explaining the side dishes. ;P
@monicaanicholee Hey don't say that! I'm a firm believer that life is really really short and we should make an effort to do the things you're passionate about. If you want to visit a certain part of the world, whether you're broke, have a job, have a family, whatever, you make an effort to do it! You MUST COME TO KOREA one day, okay? FIGHTING! ^^
The 'Beavers are vegetaria'n things absolutely cracked me up!! Especially with the Beaver Mountie in the corner
@ochixiru Everything is filleted and de-boned and sometimes skinned. You just get a piece of fish. I know some people will prepare it at home whole, but every restaurant will serve it as just a square of totally prepared fish.
@ylor16 We eat at that restaurant all the time, so we often chat with the owners in our broken Korean, hahahaha! So they were actually excited about us filming, but we don't always know the owners. If we film at a place we want it to be someplace we know pretty well, and they know us so that it isn't weird.
Thank you! I was getting confused cuz I actually heard some people in Korea say 저기요 in restaurants so I wanted to know the difference between that and 여기요 ^^ This clarified a lot! Thanks again!!
you guys make me hungry... ALL THE TIME. i know i'm not the only one
i know right!! it was abit of a mindblown moment watching this cos the removing spine thing is something i have very few memories of other people doing, like i could count it on my fingers, and is something iv only started doing the last few years and only cos its fun, something very satisfying about peeling it off and even then its not as complicated as it sounds in this vid, no need to seperate anything with chopsticks, usually half the fish has been eaten and all i do is lift the spine away lol
Hi from Afghanistan, Simon and Martina. Those are my two favorite food. Yummy!!! Thx for filming about those.
@Smithpolly Holy crap! We totally didn't notice that! Ha!
Argggghhhh...i need to stop watching these late at night! Once again jellee...im need to go back to korea!
I really like your videos and the way your videos are taken! What sort camera and lenses do your use?
@mariolawpanda
People dont judge as much as you think.
Korea actually has a lot of "finger foods". A lot of the foods are actually prepared just with hands. Prime example is the famous Kimchi, its entirely prepared by hand. You can eat it with your hands but I highly doubt that people will look at you funny. It's only when you start eating a stew or soup with your hands that people might look curious at you. They will
that waiter guy kept smiling and laughing even as he greeted other customers into the restaurant while Martina was demonstrating grilled fish de-spine-ization ^^
i love how Simon is just eating while Martina is talking xD
looks sooooo good... its morning here and I wanna eat that
I really enjoy your food adventures! Everything looks so delicious. So if you ever have the time to still do some every now and then, that would be great. If not, that's okay too.
LOL at that music that always comes on when you're eating... AWESOME XD
For ppl who don't know what Budae Jigae is. Budae means military base and Jigae means stew. It's a dish invented after the Korean war. War torn Korea lacked protein so they improvised with canned and packaged meat products the American GI's brought. GI's traded or sold their canned meats to the locals in the black market and this dish was born. Necessity was the mother of this invention.
The budae jjigae looks really good. And in Malaysia, and I think most of Asia, when you order grilled fish, they usually come served that way.
So delicious...i grew up eating whole fish so this would be amazing
I always get hungry for soup when I watch these videos! >
I have always hated fish/seafood. But I will say right now, that looks so yummy! I would totally try that!
I started off watching one video and now this is the 20th video I'm watching. Guess I'm not getting any sleep tonight...
I love when you guys make those sleeping noises xD so cute
I eat/cook whole fish all the time. It's great!!! You don't waste any part of it. Don't forget the meat that's on the cheeks of the fish. It's super smooth.
My dad love a eating whole fish! Since you can't really get it where we live whenever we go to Mexico it's one of his favorite things to order
haha i love how simon always randomly breaks out into his accents!
why is simons sooooo funny? i want him as a friend!
I love your solution to the fish staring! XD I hear that all the time, haha~
You and Simon argue the same way that my boyfriend and I do. I watch episodes with him sometimes and we both end up cracking up. XD
I love your guys' videos!
ur korean is getting much better !!!!!
Love you guys and I hope to meet you guys in person when I start teaching there!
I know this video if from a long time ago but Martina 's Korean is so cute
@detroitrockgirl We will, I swear, but it's really realllllly hard to find a true vegetarian place. But we will!!!
Earlier today I forgot to tell you two "God bless and safe travel!"
@simonandmartina
멸치볶음! they are anchovies! they have different kinds of anchovies in Korea and it depends on how you will cook them or put ingredients in them. :)
You guys should really do a video of you guys eating a whole appetizing meal like in a small local store like, 7eleven or familymart :D
@Dragonlover91 The chopsticks in Korea are always metal unless you're doing take-out, then it's cheapy wooden. Our blog is eatyourkimchi and the link in is the info box. Our blog posts always have more detail, including the menus that we translate into English. Hope this helps! :D
Wah! Simon and Martina I love your videos!! Have good time in Japan!!
that fish looks so good omg, yum
You guys, I am slightly fish-a-phobic (I doubt that's a word) and a vegetarian, so these FAPFAP videos (especially this one) are kinda icky for me to watch- but I watch them anyway because that's how much I love you guys.
That right there is pure dedication *pats self on back*
i love when martina says ' i love my mom..mam mam.." so cute XD
In Canada and the US, fish isn't given to you as a whole. It's given, usually, in fillets that have been de-boned already so you can basically put seasonings on it and cook it. You can, however, buy it whole, it's just easier to buy it pre-cut and everything.
@mariolawpanda Most people don't use their hands, but for example, removing the spine of the fish is okay (or fried chicken or wrapped meat in lettuce). Also, if you feed someone younger then you with your hands (like a piece of lettuce wrapped meat) it's considered very caring. I've had a couple people feed me some homemade kimchi and I was a bit startled but it was a very caring motherly gesture. :D
Aww man I love fish (and soup), that food looks so goooddd
I was about to do my homework, but then I saw your new video!:D
My mom was talking about that exact type of fish this morning when she sent me to school! When she lived in Beijing, there was a lot of that type of fish and it was really easy to cook and was really yummy too. She also described how many Koreans eat the fish, which is why I guess I see it in the vid :O
I asked my mom if she could make it for me but we don't eat it a lot because its smell fills up the house ><
ALSO I HAVE THE CANADIAN BEAVER OMGG MY BRO GOT IT FOR ME :DDD
@finding13emo We didn't, but because it's filed under our "WANK TV Show collection" the name changed through UA-cam! :D
I LOVE Budaejjigae! oh God, how i wish it's available in my country
I love you guys loads. Im having fish while watching this. Some people remove the bones and eat the fish with rice or bread. It very nice. Also with lemon and onions. Very very very nice. That fish you guys were having looks like the same size as a trout. Though, breum fish is very very fresh fish and HUGE. Brilliant video guys I love it and keep them COMING!! xxxxxxxxxxxxx Lots of love from London!
