The line was said once in the original, but its supposed to be a more "symbolic" statement than a "literal" statement. But this was said multiple times in the dub, which lead me to believe that was the case for years as well lol
bob smith I wouldn't consider infinity really, it's not possible to beat normally by battle. The fact that no other series had infinity kind of shows how much they asspulled (even compared to the rest)
Well...time to see Yusaku use some kind of "decoding" spell card to "overwrite" a monsters atk. It sounds like a cheat code, but don't forget...Yusaku is an anti-hero.
I'm a bit surprised Armityle the Chaos Phantom didn't make the list at 10,000 ATK. Also, I really don't count Exodia's win condition as infinite attack. More like its an effect, like destiny board or the God fusion card.
In the anime it is considered to be a monster that is special summoned and then attacks immediately with infinite attack points. The tcg just considers it as an effect instead
Anime exodia is different from TCG Exodia. As someone pointed out in the anime when you get all pieces of exodia it is immediately special summoned (can't be stopped) and immediately attacks with infinite attack points.
If you want to be technical, there is indeed such a thing as 'greater than infinity'. The smallest infinity is called Aleph-naught, (Or Aleph-null in the Germanic sense). And as you imagine there can be infinite sets of this, which hits upon the next largest infinity of Aleph-one. And to establish the pattern, there is also Aleph-Two, Three, 591889, and so on. So 'greater than infinity', I believe, is referring to the cardinal Aleph set of the lowest infinity range and Aleph-One which is infinity Aleph-naughts. But to attribute this to the final entry, I want to believe that the way the fame was designed was to have infinity be the highest possible numerical and cardinal point... Due to lack of adding in expansion rule sets to the game. Because in the game anything passed 10k is usually very hard to do and from there the difficulty of attaining 100k, 500k, and 900k is on an exponential difficulty curve. I hope someone enjoyed this fun fact, lol.
Opponent: I summoned a monster with infinite attack and just drew the last card of exodia so i win ... Yugi: Not so fast! i have a trap card! Opponent: s#$!, of course u do lol
Highest attack monster I've every played was Wing Dragon of Ra at 564'200, I'm a huge Ra fan and experiment a lot, also my life points peaked a bit over 2 million, I got my field cleared, then just kept ending, my turn... I won by decking them out lol
Now I'm just imagining a completely different scenario for the leviathan boss thing that took the number one spot. A dragon with infinite attack is summoned and it just gets mirror forced. Another possibility that is even in Joey's deck would be to summon Copycat. Imagine the anticlimactic end that would have led to
something I realised recently is in yugioh vrains, in the span of 25 episodes we've only seen firewall dragon summoned twice and in the previous 2 series both yuya and yuma summoned there respective aces odd-eyes pendulum dragon and number 39: utopia pretty much every duel
Yugioh Everything When summoned, its power is halved, but on your next turn, the original points are doubled. Any increases are applied to that doubling as well.
I know this video is already kind of old, and I don't know if someone already pointed this out, but you can be greater than infinity, because the infinity in that sense is basically the amount of natural numbers, but that's the smallest infinite, there exist infinite ones in fact (search the article called "Cardinal Number" in Wikipedia to see this), and they are numbers that have some special rules, but numbers nonetheless. What's interesting is that it is not known till this day how much infinite inifinites there are (search "Continuum Hypothesis" if you are curious). All of this is possible because of how the sets (and numbers) are defined in math (search "Zermelo-Fraenkel axioms").
Not the first movie though...The first was the "Season 0" movie, which came out before the "Second Series Anime", aka the one you know and love. During his Duel against Seto Kaiba, Yugi Muto summons Meteor B. Dragon by using "Polymerization" to fuse "Meteor Dragon" with Shougo Aoyama's "Red-Eyes Black Dragon". This monster destroyed Seto's "Blue-Eyes White Dragon's 3-Body Connection" and won Yugi the Duel. yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Yu-Gi-Oh!_the_Movie Not to be confused with yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Yu-Gi-Oh!_The_Movie:_Pyramid_of_Light
Actually, if you learn Math in high levels, like Master or PhD, you will see that there are many "levels" of infinity, and there is an "infinity" that is greater than the infinity that we learn in high school and undergrad level. That's why I laughed when I watched the final moment of the duel between Yami and Dartz in dubbed version :D What I was thinking at that time is that do these guys have a PhD in Math :)) Anw, great video :D
Does infinity count as a number? I've always assumed it was a value greater than any number, since infinity has no end. Regardless great video mate!! I love it when duels go over the top with insanely high ATK monsters *(Those duels tend to be really good imo)*.
Even if Infinity doesn't count as a number, it is still a confirmed value for there strength, so it can qualify for the list. And since that value is greater then any number, that puts it at the top spot.
no it aint, mathematicly speaking is infinite merely an ideal no number thou. Thats why you would only ever use the line down limes streches towards infinity ... sry if its gramaticly wrong it aint my native tongue
How about a top 10 plot armor moments? Bonus points for every moment outside of duelist kingdom. This would basically be things like atem’s destiny draw, jaden fusing neos wiseman, etc. I haven’t seen anything passed season 4 of gx nor have I seen the first three seasons of it but surely this would make for a fun, unique countdown
I love me some huge ATK numbers, but I especially love when those gigantic stats are dealt with without just countering with bigger numbers. As silly as the moment is, I love the Duel v. Strings, because Atem actually dealt with a huge frickin' monster without RAAAAGH ATTACK.
Where is Wicked Avatar? Original manga Yugi vs Yako Tenma! Obeliks effect is Infinity Attack. And Wicked Avatar Effect +1 Attack Points. Wicked Avatar is Infinity Attack! Obeliks and Wicked Avatar Fight. Infinity Attack vs Infinity Attack! Two monsters go to Greveyard.
In a three way duel, when your friend removes from play all cards in every ones graveyard with most of his own deck and plays a monster that gains attack and defence for every monster removed from play. It was 52000 atk and I had no monsters on my field except one facedown card. He decided to risk it and attack me directly, I then proceded to laugh and play mirror force. Everyone went crazy at that turnaround.
These Attack Points are just "Scouter Breaking"! I remember Saturday morning when Yugi activated Obelisk's ability and I watched that Attack go up shocked that he was gonna destroy Marik.
It isn’t a win conduction it’s an high chance of winning a duel, as a example, if I had Obelisk with ∞ ATK and do a direct then would that mean you lose? Really if I haven’t I’d be hoping for a deck out if it were to be the case.
Not played in a game of Duel Monsters but a completely different shadow game/life-risking game hosted by Zorc in the shadow realm/hell against the Pharaoh
It is technically possible for a number to be greater than infinity. Infinity+x, where x equals whatever number you wish, is technically considered to be greater than infinity, as any number that infinity become is added to by x to become a greater number. For example, if infinity goes on a scale of 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, then infinity+5 would go on a scale of 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. Similarly, this also works with multiples, with infinity*5 being 5, 10, 15, 20, 25.
I know this is late and someone probably already noticed but i was studying dualism of mirrors and i saw a early foreshadow of kaito's death and Yuma and shark's final duel so when the mirrors split up there is one scene where Yuma is facing one way shark the other way and kaito has his back turned usually in anime openings when there is a character facing a specific direction it could mean something i think that was kaito's death also notice if you take kaito out it almost looks as if Yuma and shark are facing each other i just wanted to point out something i noticed
random fact that you may be interested in. Conceptually, there are different sizes of infinity. There are good videos on this concept but in a nutshell, you can compare the sizes of infinity. If you just count 1 2 3 4... there are infinite numbers, one size of infinity. But if you follow this pattern "1.1, 1.01, 1.001, 1.0001" you can also go indefinitely, and you can do this infinitely many ways for every number in the first set (1, 2, 3, 4) therefore while the list of whole numbers is infinite in size, it is a smaller infinite than the list of numbers with decimals. The show did not touch on this at all, but I thought it was interesting and relevant cause you mentioned how there couldn't be different sizes of infinity
Not sure if anyone said that yet, but another one would be number C43 getting to 18600 in episode 133 in Zexal. But I guess it wouldn't be included anyway if you had not forgotten the Utopia Roots one.
When timaeus is summoned it gains the atk of the critias and hermos (infinity). When he is destroyed in battle his eff allows to summon back the 3 knights back to the field. Hope this helped :)
i've done that to my cyber twin dragon. power bond, limiter remover, and 2 honest against my opponents playing a weird neos deck. main reason why cyber dragons are my top fav deck. mind you i never pulled that combo off again.
We have a new record. Ai's Link 6 the arrival at one point reached 22 000 atk during episode 119 of Vrains. Which barely beats Judai's Elemental Hero Shining Flare Wingman at 20 900 atk

Thanks for clearing that infamous "more than infinite" scene. Seriously, that scene was confusing as hell....
WAIT!? "More than infinite" wasn't actually a thing?? 4Kids why u do dis :'(
The line was said once in the original, but its supposed to be a more "symbolic" statement than a "literal" statement. But this was said multiple times in the dub, which lead me to believe that was the case for years as well lol
I got 2 words balls):£;
Perry Gharty I know something more than infinite, the amount of censorship in Yu-Gi-Oh
I'm not sure if that is really a dub change if they did say it in the original. I view it more as the dub took way to literal
Infinity+1 attack power xD
Man I can't wait for vrains to get something on this list. Also proves Duel monsters is the best!
Hopefully it does! And yeah DM is the only show that had any infinites, not counting GX Exodia
bob smith
I wouldn't consider infinity really, it's not possible to beat normally by battle.
Yusaku will get to 300K
seeing 6 digits in Zexal as HYPE AS FUQ!! they need to do this stuff again..
...It's over 9000?
Sean Park and one
Rah
Vegeta
Awesome video and infinty can have exponents including inifinity itself so it could happen though it'd probably be difficult to implement in yu-gi-oh
I'm a bit surprised Armityle the Chaos Phantom didn't make the list at 10,000 ATK. Also, I really don't count Exodia's win condition as infinite attack. More like its an effect, like destiny board or the God fusion card.
Joseph Well, when in the list #10 is a monster with 16k+ atk, I'm pretty sure Armityle wouldn't compare
Armityle as in the card game, I believe has the highest base attack.
No wait nevermind, LOOOOL~
Opponent: s#$!, of course u do
lol
Plays card destruction
Divine serpent God GAY
HAHAHA I knew someone would say that, just didnt think it would be so quickly after the release xD xD
Ga'eh
Obelisk the Tormentor haves a secret effect, after 10 total turns, (total, not when he is on the field), He gets the power of Exodia.
would be a shame if a quaking mirror force were to save me during the battle phase against all these powerful monsters
HAHA or Magic Cylinder
This is gonna be awesome!
One card they’ve never used in the show, Hourglass of Courage is overpowered in the right conditions.
I'll look it up! :) Never heard of it
Yugioh Everything When summoned, its power is halved, but on your next turn, the original points are doubled.
How about in the 1st movie? I'm pretty sure Obelisk reached infinity there too
You are correct! It happened twice in DM once in the movie!
This monster destroyed Seto's "Blue-Eyes White Dragon's 3-Body Connection" and won Yugi the Duel.
yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Yu-Gi-Oh!_the_Movie
Not to be confused with yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Yu-Gi-Oh!_The_Movie:_Pyramid_of_Light
Correction techinically 2nd movie based on the DM game
Actually, if you learn Math in high levels, like Master or PhD, you will see that there are many "levels" of infinity, and there is an "infinity" that is greater than the infinity that we learn in high school and undergrad level. That's why I laughed when I watched the final moment of the duel between Yami and Dartz in dubbed version :D What I was thinking at that time is that do these guys have a PhD in Math :))
Anw, great video :D
Does infinity count as a number? I've always assumed it was a value greater than any number, since infinity has no end. Regardless great video mate!! I love it when duels go over the top with insanely high ATK monsters *(Those duels tend to be really good imo)*.
Thats fair, I always considered infinity the highest "number" ever, then again its not really a number, so its def debateable! Glad you enjoyed shape!
Even if Infinity doesn't count as a number, it is still a confirmed value for there strength, so it can qualify for the list. And since that value is greater then any number, that puts it at the top spot.
It is a number, just not a real one.
no it aint, mathematicly speaking is infinite merely an ideal no number thou. Thats why you would only ever use the line down limes streches towards infinity ... sry if its gramaticly wrong it aint my native tongue
Its not a number. It's a term only used in math and the last time I checked terms are not numbers. Therefore infinity is not a number
Thats a good idea! I'll add it to my list~
You forgot 1 duel. During Yuma/Trey's duel agianst the memory thief in episode 113 in Zexal Trey's monster got in total 23 600 attack points.
I like when it's ridiculously high, I mean seeing that in zexal was great!
This should be called yugioh on crack
SaucyCharmander Yeah I stopped watching after gx the rest seem too far away from the classic. I like the og’s
So... ZeXaL?
Cyber Dragon..."In-Zane" lol love it.
The strongest of all yugioh card is...
Me: *Rips all my opponents yugioh cards HAHAHA WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO NOW*
I love me some huge ATK numbers, but I especially love when those gigantic stats are dealt with without just countering with bigger numbers. As silly as the moment is, I love the Duel v. Strings, because Atem actually dealt with a huge frickin' monster without RAAAAGH ATTACK.
What about the atem strongest monster creator of light
Where is Wicked Avatar?
Original manga Yugi vs Yako Tenma!
Obeliks effect is Infinity Attack.
And Wicked Avatar Effect +1 Attack Points.
Wicked Avatar is Infinity Attack!
Obeliks and Wicked Avatar Fight.
Infinity Attack vs Infinity Attack!
Two monsters go to Greveyard.
Expedia does not have infinite attack, just win condition.
OmegaPyron lmaoo
+OmegaPyron
LOL
GodzillaFreak "left are of the forbidden one, those who unleash this will know infinite power "
ᄋ비벵윤 expedia*
Expedia, destroying all monsters by booking them a flight XD
There’s also that duel where III and Yuma vs that Barian and got Atlantal’s attack points to 23600 and plus utopia roots
14:19 Set theory has somehing to say to you
In a three way duel, when your friend removes from play all cards in every ones graveyard with most of his own deck and plays a monster that gains attack and defence for every monster removed from play. It was 52000 atk and I had no monsters on my field except one facedown card.
He decided to risk it and attack me directly, I then proceded to laugh and play mirror force. Everyone went crazy at that turnaround.
just summon an amazones swords woman to attack these monster
Daibakuretsu with onslaught
Mirror force lol
These Attack Points are just "Scouter Breaking"! I remember Saturday morning when Yugi activated Obelisk's ability and I watched that Attack go up shocked that he was gonna destroy Marik.
Don thousand would get an auto win because infinite life points is a win conduction
That Don Thousand duel was too lit
Yugioh Everything it was best main antagonist duel ever
Vo Tan Phat Don could of done the same thing
It isn’t a win conduction it’s an high chance of winning a duel, as a example, if I had Obelisk with ∞ ATK and do a direct then would that mean you lose? Really if I haven’t I’d be hoping for a deck out if it were to be the case.
Infinite life points don't matter if you take infinite damage
I have Exodia and Oblisk, I like the vid :)
What about Horakathy?
we've never seen such card in yugioh.
KingNazaru she has 0(a.k.a ?)atk points
Not played in a game of Duel Monsters but a completely different shadow game/life-risking game hosted by Zorc in the shadow realm/hell against the Pharaoh
Great video.
12:31 Divine serpent god gay??? XD
Gx and 5d is my favourite deck games still learning arc V deck
I know this is late and someone probably already noticed but i was studying dualism of mirrors and i saw a early foreshadow of kaito's death and Yuma and shark's final duel so when the mirrors split up there is one scene where Yuma is facing one way shark the other way and kaito has his back turned usually in anime openings when there is a character facing a specific direction it could mean something i think that was kaito's death also notice if you take kaito out it almost looks as if Yuma and shark are facing each other i just wanted to point out something i noticed
Good analysis Jailan! They definitely could have been symbolizing that! They usually symbolize pretty well in the openings and even the endings!
there is WAY more to yugioh than the anime i wish youtubers like you would learn that
Whenever someone brings out an Infinity Attack Monster I always want the opponent to bring out Draining Shield
>A number cannot be greater than infinity
>He hasn't watched VSauce
Jokes aside, great video my dude!
xD Thank you man!
random fact that you may be interested in. The show did not touch on this at all, but I thought it was interesting and relevant cause you mentioned how there couldn't be different sizes of infinity
what is the difference between numbers that go on forever and infinite numbers?
Not sure if anyone said that yet, but another one would be number C43 getting to 18600 in episode 133 in Zexal. But I guess it wouldn't be included anyway if you had not forgotten the Utopia Roots one.
Imagine an monster with infinity attack attacks u and u activate enchanted javelin... Infinity life points:D
When timaeus is summoned it gains the atk of the critias and hermos (infinity). When he is destroyed in battle his eff allows to summon back the 3 knights back to the field.
Hope this helped :)
i've done that to my cyber twin dragon. power bond, limiter remover, and 2 honest against my opponents playing a weird neos deck. main reason why cyber dragons are my top fav deck. mind you i never pulled that combo off again.
the fact that rise falcon went from all monsters attack points to just ONE is kinda nerfed but i get why for anime reasons
On a random note yes you can have different infinities in mathematics and some are considered to be larger than others, but good video.
I thought this would be about the card game itself. Damn it.
We have a new record. Ai's Link 6 the arrival at one point reached 22 000 atk during episode 119 of Vrains. Which barely beats Judai's Elemental Hero Shining Flare Wingman at 20 900 atk
