I’m not a 1911 guy and I don’t have the privilege of owning any Wilson Combat firearms yet, but these Gun Guy episodes are some of my favorite to watch. Lots of wisdom and experience sitting at that table!
Always interesting to see you guys talk, I mean no disrespect in my next sentence. When older people talk you should listen. It’s a shame you have to get older to understand that...
I'm in Jackson TN I never new wc was a TN company. You guys have the most beautiful guns I've ever seen, I'm crippled and can't work but I hope to be able to buy one while I can still enjoy it
Interesting! Lots of folks have a similar thought process on CCW sidearms, that they carry more gun in bigger cities or areas where the threat might be higher. Heck, I've even done that! But I wonder if there's any real validity to it? Maybe your odds of needing a gun are higher in a bigger city, but once the gun clears leather you're probably in the same fight in a town of 5 million that you would be in a village of 10,000. If you fly in a rickety biplane you might need a parachute more than if you fly in a well maintained twin engine plane, but it doesn't stand to reason that you'll need a bigger parachute! So over the years I've really tried to just carry a full sized gun and a reload if I CCW. Much of the time that's an HK P2000, a gun that's larger than a compact but smaller than most service guns.
Only 1 🔫 my choice would be my FN P35 but then now that you have developed the 300 HAM'R my preference might change. I don't really have the need to carry my very old pristine very well tuned P35. My "daily carry weapon" here on the farm is an AR15 .223 Wylde. Soon it will become a 300 HAM'R. We have Coywolves up here in the mountains of upstate NY and I want to add much more "authority" from my AR.
Just a "Re-Visit" of this video... I currently own five WC Models albeit two of Glock Configuration! Absolutely love your products as I do know the difference coming from my 1911 roots as my Father and I used to be the local 1911 Custom Build Folks in Western NY and surrounding... Thanks Mike~
@@thegolflife7565 not always. He has fallen in love with it in the last decade, inspired, originally by the arthritis in his hands. The do an exceptional episode on that on this channel. Two things I've never had much use for are 9mm or Glocks. Wilson is doing both now and hearing Ken talk about them has inspired me to revisit both.
The 9mm and 1911 pattern pistol is an excellent combination. I love mine. The 9 gives you a couple more rounds with lower recoil than a comparable .45. The only downside is during ammo shortages like we're currently experiencing. The best 9mm loads are scarce as unicorns. If I'm limited to pointy 9mm FMJ vs. more blunt .45 FMJ, the big boy wins every time.
I have heard alot of people say dont carry a full size 1911. Its too heavy bla bla bla. Carty something compact bla bla. You carry what you trainwoth the best. I dont like a light weight Polymer frame gun. I do not like that you to grip them at a certain angle. I also dont like the triggers on guns like glocks. Evey time i shoot a Taurus orGlock i have recoil issues. The gun wants to pull to the right. That also throws off my target practice. 1911 all the way baby.
I dunno? I do not see any use for a 9mm 1911. I can get a double stack 9mm with twice the capacity for 1/4 of the price. Now a 10mm or .45 acp. 1911 makes sense to me.
I have carpal tunnel and arthritis in both hands so a 1911 ia not safe for me. Not in general. I sold all my usoing 1911s when i was getting unintentional diascharges with a 1911 with 7lb trigger pull with a bit of take up. All dowenraange but still not safe. I have several collector 1911s which I do not shoot.
You could ask the same question comparing a Dodge Neon and a Chevrolet Corvette. Both will get you from Point A to Point B, but there are undeniable differences. Whether it's worth the money to buy the expensive one is a personal choice. I have several 1911s - Kimber, Fusion, Rock Island Armory, Coonan, Ed Brown, and Wilson Combat. If I could keep only one, it would be the Wilson Combat.
I'm in the same boat. I spent my youth shooting hot 44 mag and 45 colt loads. Then 45 acp loaded up in a 1911 or Glock 21. Now I'm happy to shoot a nice 9mm so I can use my hands the next day. I can't hardly do free weights much anymore. Gripping a barbell can hurt these days. I don't regret it though. I have sent a lot of lead and copper downrange.
You gets what you pays for.when you look at what you get for the money, Bill's masterpieces really are bargains. That said, I can't afford one, either.

I really appreciate my EDC X9 . A truly professional pistol build like no other, Craftsmanship and dependability are the Hallmark of Wilson Combat.
As a newbie gun owner and having a natural attraction to gravitate toward good ol 1911 you guys are awesome to watch. So much wisdom!
Same tbh
I used to hold on to empty 1911s in video games hoping to find ammo 😂 now I’m buying real ones
Always interesting to see you guys talk, I mean no disrespect in my next sentence.

Another great episode that answered the question that's been on my mind for awhile. Now, to save more money.
EDC X9 is my favorite edc and by far the most accurate, wouldn’t trade for the world
That’s my next handgun for sure! I always carry my Wilson Compact .45, but the EDC X9 looks fantastic.
The best 1911s, Period. Superb craftsmanship, worth every dollar.
I have a WC Sentinel that has the Compact frame....9 +1 on a light weight frame...best packing pistol I’ve ever had. That would be my 1 to pick from.
Damn, I'm still trying to get 1 WC... I bet he gets a discount :). Beautiful guns and love the segment.
My ex took my WC when she left... saving my pennies for another. WC guns are some sort of witchcraft/voodoo the way they shoot.
@@HalfCrazy520 I got two 1911s. A Springfield Armory full rail TRP operator and Loaded. How different is the WC 1911s?
I'm in Jackson TN I never new wc was a TN company. You guys have the most beautiful guns I've ever seen, I'm crippled and can't work but I hope to be able to buy one while I can still enjoy it
The factory is located in Berryville Arkansas
You both are a few good men left in this world I highly respect you both. I knew he was gonna pick the all steel with magwell👍

St Louis has it’s bad areas just like any metro area. When I’m in rural Missouri sometimes I feel I need a fully automatic weapon...
Not a 1911 platform fan,but some of those Wilson's are just super nice....Alloy frame is always more than a hair lighter than steel..
Great series! Keep 'em coming.

Much appreciated!
I would probably ago. Although, my CCW is a highly customized Kimber Tactical Pro II with WC springs, guide rod, grips, and mags.
"I would probably ago." Well said! :)
I'm honored to be the first to comment on these two fine representatives of the gun community..Ken and Bill. Profound knowledge on everything gun.
Love the EDC X9
Now I'm more confused than ever!! Keep saving and buy all three!! I'm working on it!! Love your videos!! Rich 👍👍👍🔫🔫🔫🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Your right St. Louis carry 2 guns
If I could only have one gun, it will be a stainless steel full size 5 inch government model 1911 in .45 ACP with a 7 round magazine.
Love the 1911 platform and especially the edc x9 but that’s out of my pride range so I opted for the next best thing, a Sig Legion P229 SAO in 9mm.
Hey I'm from st. Louis. Just carry 2 1911s
Or one glock and a couple high cap mags.
Sweet guns 👍👍
I don't wear crap hanging off my belt, I use shoulder holsters
Call me old fashioned, but if it ain't a .45 it ain't really a 1911, maybe a 911. LOL
Great video, great guns but the price is where you lose me. One day I will.
If I could own any 9mm today, I'd want the edcx9. Next, a Walther pdp.
Might wanna carry an AR in STL these days 😂
Great video
Lol. He doesn’t wanna say that he doesn’t like his daughter living in St Louis. “Might need a little more firepower.”
Whats the deal with holding the trigger when dropping the slide.
Whats the proper way to load a standard 1911
Did Bill Wilson just say all of his "top three" 1911 are 9 mill?
David Dale His favorite round has always been the 9. I mean shoot his favorite gun is the 92

Steel Guns All The Way!!!!
If I had the money and could have only one gun it would be you X9. It would be my duty gun, range gun, and off-duty carry gun.
The solution seems simple: spend $9300-$9700, get all three shown! :)
2011 9mm ☑
I'd go for xc9
Are the aluminum frames durable enough to last a lifetime with proper care?
If polymer is I would have to guess yes.

Does anyone attach a light to their 1911?
Don't need no flashlight
Does a Texas CCP have reciprocity in Missouri?
Yes it does according to the USCCA carry map
Bill Do you need a 15 capacity magazine where you go to war
Glock in 9mm cover all this either g17 19 or 26

9MM or 45 ACP?
sexy guns for sure
Whats wrong with St. Louis?
Probably have Glocks in their holsters.
$3000.bucks for a 1911? I’m sure there nice guns. But are they 3 times better then my Springfield armory or colt?
I honestly doubt it
yes.
Without taking anything from your Springfield, yes, they are that much better.

Why do you care? Is your ego that fragile? Lol
No way they're 3 times better
Practice gun safety,always...
I love the 1911 I love the 45 but a 1911 9 mm just doesn’t make sense to me.
Cheaper to shoot and less recoil.
Bill explains elsewhere that his old hands cant do 45

First
Great commercial. Buy a glock.
I own several Glocks......also own a WC and a NHC.....among others.
Pretty. BUT WAY OVERPRICED. I know cost is subjective. But got dam son.

six cheap ones
