I have a machine where the flow indicator is intermittent while using but machine still sprays! I raised the machine onto a work bench, the spray pattern looks weird/inconsistent coming out of the machine. I performed the test in the video, looking for looking for a spray of six to eight inches high, failed barley comes out. I sent the machine back to Bissell for repair telling them about the intermittent flow indicator spinning but not the results of the flow indicator per your video. Sadly, Bissell was unable to find anything wrong with my machine and returned said machine. I sent back a video to Bissell on the lack of Flow coming out of the port, they replied to use the machine, which tells me that your test is inconclusive.
I asked for a gallons per minute since it would be hard to test PSI of said pump, again same response use the machine. Not happy to say the least...

As explained in the video, this is a direct indicator that your flow indicator has failed. That is not a suction cap, it is a diversionary port for the hose/tool combination with a self-sealing gasket inside that is a part of the flow indicator. If water is escaping from that port, the flow indicator in its entirety has failed-Amanda S.
So on mine, the water is pouring out from the flow indicator cover itself, not the open white cap hole next to it. Same failure? A frozen flow indicator?
Brand new out of box mine isn’t work. Flow indicator not moving at all. Tried pushing the gasket down. Nothing. It’s not leaking. The vacuum motor turns on. When I pull the handle down you can hear it turn on but that’s it. Water isn’t spraying and it loses suction

I'm afraid to get shocked pushing something into the hole while machine is running!

I just get the machine, I use one time! And I try use today and doesn’t work the water 😕thank you for you video
