Is this a good idea? Racing 5k on the track during MARATHON TRAINING!

    Good effort on the track! Did you train much in the dragonfly to get your legs used to them? Very different feel to trainers.

      The first time I had them on was January in a 1 mile and 2 mile race, then again in February for a 1 mile and 3k. Then last night. They’re a very different feel, but I’m a mid-forefoot striker, so naturally a good transition over. I wouldn’t recommend heel strikers jumping straight into them.

      @@therunningmaninblue thanks. Agree, mid or dire foot strikers will feel lots of benefit. I’m just old and don’t want to aggravate Achilles stuff. But these spike just feel so fast! I’m planning on building the use starting with shorter rep distance to hopefully use on the county champs 5k in May. All the best with marathon training. Impressive powers of recovery to run that 5k after the Half and the miles since 🥵
