I am just home from RAH emergency (pneumonia) and the medicos had the same convo with me ... I blithely replied , "oh yes, I have the donor thing signed on my licence." To which she replied , " ... that's for when you are dead."
It sounds horrible but she said it with such a twinkle in her eye that I knew I was in good hands.
Am so glad you are well again ... may it continue that way.
And yes, 3 Cheers for the Flying doctors.

I have popped over from the Feel Good Family. I have been in your situation with a burst appendix. I was in yr 10 2000) and it was about 2 weeks before Xmas. And mine just burst in the middle of the night. I was a day away from dying. My parents had no clue. They took me to the dr and that same day I was sent to the hospital and had emergency surgery and was out 2 days later I think. All keyhole surgery. I look forward to following your journey around Australia. We are hoping to get a van in the next yr or so and take all 4 kids full time traveling while I also work as a RN.

Hi, yes it was not a good feeling and It was a long recovery period. Set a date to start travelling and it will fall into place

I’ll be traveling alone from next week and my biggest fear is probably something like this happening and not having anyone to sort out logistics etc
