Alex Coreable Once you get used to walking through the station like if you have work near shinjuku then you won’t have any trouble with finding your way
@@daten__ The station is physically immense by itself. Even if you know your way, just traversing it end-to-end might take 15 minutes alone, so it all depends on where you're going to and from. For example, the N'Ex platforms are really inconveniently placed, and it takes about 10 minutes walk to reach the West Exit with the luggage.
Brings back fond memories of when I did study abroad at Waseda. I lived in a dorm in Takadanobaba and went to Shinjuku every day after class. A 20-year-old single guy with no job, no responsibilities, a wallet full of scholarship money and a lot of free time in the middle of Tokyo. What could go wrong?
Makes me want to cry :'( The cleanliness is out of this earth. No trash, no plastic food containers or cups, and no cigarette butts and only one small piece of paper that looks like it accidentally fell from someone. People are queuing on platforms and everything is just lovely. Makes London look like a jungle in comparison!!
Tokyo is a jungle in terms of design. There are many places where you have tp think in multile 3d layers. Want to cpuntinue going along this road? Walking straight doesnt work because in front of you suddenly is the beginning of the subway. You need to find stairs that will lift you up. Basically the street ends and in front of you begins the subway underground on the same level. The street is suddenly 20m above.
London's underground system is kind of hysteretic, a lot of broken bricks and shabby construction, out of order ticket machine, information guide is like a disaster which is extremely unfriendly for the tralvers to find the right direction. A lot of information is unclear and messy.....Lastly, there is no signal in the subway.
thanks for the video. i really miss tokyo especially shinjuku eki. i lived in tokyo just one year and almost every day i go to shinjuku eki. too bad i didnt record many videos, but thanks to you i could reminisce again the good time in tokyo
I'd traveled around Tokyo and found that most out-skirt towns started here in Shinjuku: Yokohama, Kamakura, Otski and many more. It's very easy to be lost at this station, but one suggestion may help is to memorized your exit; for example the new south gate the east wing gate and so forth.
There are 12 lines running at Shinjuku Station. There are 9 ticket gates and 64 exits at the station. Japanese people call Shinjuku station a labyrinth. It is also called the Sagrada Familia because it has been undergoing renovation work for a long time.
Great video thanks . Brings back some good and bad memories from my last visit ,I got lost a few times in there .I was amazed at how big the station is .Hopefully I will be better prepared on my next visit to Japan.
Yes, I also love it. Do you think it's beautiful because of how clean it is?? Then, please come/visit to any stations except Tokyo area. They are even cleaner and cleaner than this station.
Shinjuku is like a amaze so easy to get lost haha...It took me no lie 20mins to find a exit I needed haha, and its always busy....I miss the announcements at Tokyo Stations and of course on the train and the little jingles
I didn't know that Japan is clean country until I've met visitors from foregn countries told me it is so becuase while traveling abroad, it never occurred to me that places are dirty, but actually it is from local people. Mystelious.
kara kardan Tokyo is amazing. you can cross shibuya crossing with your eyes closed and the Japanese people with avoid a collision unlike here in the US
Have not seen my wife for two year s thanks to the pandemic. She is in our home in Tokyo . These wonderful clips and my nightly phone calls from Australia are a blessing. Thank you for this.
11:40 I would often be found at the _Fare Adjustment Machine_, lowering my ticket price to an amount *I* deem acceptable. Lovely video as always, so many little things to notice.
For those who aren't aware, here's what the Fare Adjustment Machine is for - In Tokyo, you pay by distance for using most trains, even the subways. If you get a ticket and get on a train, but the ticket value isn't enough for the station you end up at, the ticket gates will not let you out of the station when you insert your ticket to leave. You go to the adjustment machine, insert your ticket, then put in enough money to make up the difference between your ticket value and the cost of your trip. It will then print a new ticket with the proper value that you can put in the exit gate to leave :)
It's not nearly as good and as extensive as yours though ;) (mine is only a brief walk from Yamanote 14/15 platform onto the street/Kabukicho outside, during rush hour). Yours is great and super extensive! Going into a lot of different sections. Love it. Hope to make/post the video soon. I still have to finish/post my Manila videos first (I went to Manila first, and then Japan after).
I do really enjoyed my travel trhought Japan last summer, and this video gave me back memories, plus I think that this is really relaxing. Greetings from France 🇫🇷
Definitivamente me voy a perder en el metro jajajajaja soy chileno y viajo en Agosto a Tokio, he estado siguiendo los vídeos del canal para orientarme pero definitivamente la estación de Shinjuku va ser mi sufrimiento allá jajaja
1. Allergies 2. If you are sick you wear this mask to avoid spread what make you sick 3. Avoid being sick (just in case) 4. Winter is very dry and wearing mask help keeping humidity from your breath. And nope, the Air in Tokyo is cleaner than in Paris (I am French BTW) or Hong Kong (Used to live there too), especially in winter since we have a lot of wind blowing up away most of the pollution away.
I don't know you guys, but i find this kind of videos very relaxing.
when i was there it took me a good 30 mins to get out

Me too. That place is a maze.

まさに夢のような時間…羨ましいなぁ☺️
Such a piece of "natural" music. I use this video as an ear therapy sometimes.
wow the station is unbelievably clean

oh man, don't worry, just come to Mexico and you will see what is a real jungle. :'c

London maybe better decades ago. And will be far worse in the near future. Notice how in Japan everyone is Japanese?
Shinjuku Station seems dirty to most of Japanese still since other stations especially in rural are cleaner.

We love the Tokyo train network, just amazing 😉
I love Japan. But to commute this way everyday seems so stressful.
you get quickly used to it.
東京に一度行きたいな(外国人なので容易に行けない)(将来短期出張で行けるように頑張っていきます)
Got lost a few times here during my visit about a year ago! Loved every minute of it!
やっぱり新宿駅いいなぁ!After all Shinjuku station good!

Same i missed being in japan it was amazing 🥲
Shinjuku station was like a hub for me on trip. Its a daunting station if you are pressed for time!
You never took a video during peak hour. 6pm or 12am. It’s amazing.

This is only JR station
There are a lot of other railway companies' stations near here
Great video thanks . Brings back some good and bad memories from my last visit ,I got lost a few times in there .I was amazed at how big the station is .Hopefully I will be better prepared on my next visit to Japan.
Thanks for this walk! Really great! Good luck with new walks! : )

''I never ever let you get out from here!!!👹''
I am walking in that station every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
ngl im just here after the latest trash taste episode to see how bad it looks
Haha, same! I went to this station in 2017 and it brought back flashbacks
I didn't know that Japan is clean country until I've met visitors from foregn countries told me it is so becuase while traveling abroad, it never occurred to me that places are dirty, but actually it is from local people. Mystelious.

ありがとうございました。
Please do this kind of video again, in this pandemic, this kind video of japan really brighten the mood ....
Will try ;-)
Have not seen my wife for two year s thanks to the pandemic. She is in our home in Tokyo . These wonderful clips and my nightly phone calls from Australia are a blessing. Thank you for this.
This gives me PTSD about getting trapped by a ticket gate for just wandering through the station.
Busiest train station in the world 👏👏👏

Nice one! I actually shot the exact same station with my Zhiyun/a6300 during my trip there last month hehe.
Cool! Share with us your video!

新宿を歩くコツはキョロキョロしないで行く方向だけをみて絶対に避けないと決意して歩けばあちらが自然と避けれくるよ

I will hopefully be in Japan and I definitely get lost in the station
I do really enjoyed my travel trhought Japan last summer, and this video gave me back memories, plus I think that this is really relaxing. Greetings from France 🇫🇷
How does that place stay so clean with such high traffic? I didn’t see a single cleaner at work this entire video
They are orderly and respectful not like all the wild animals in the west , but this culture does have its draw backs , it’s far from perfect .
The biggest train station in the world
I got lost here - was supposed to go out the East Gate, but eventually gave up and went out the Southern Terrace Gate since it was the closest one!
real nice
chaos when I was there
Ok, this Shinjuku station looks nice. Wait... are there three Shinjuku stations in Shinjuku 🧐
Great video! maybe someday you could make 360° videos, i would buy a VR cardboard and help calm down my nostalgia :)
I really want to, however to get descent 360, you need to spend a shit load of money... Anything below 5 to 6000 USD is crap :(
Yeah! also i was not impressed with those videos so far. Let's wait a couple of years and see what happen :)
To put it simply. If you want "OK" 360 1080p videos you need to shoot in 4K, if you want "OK" 4K Video then 6K or 8K is what you need.
Wow - it looks bigger than my city's airport lol
What stabilizer did you use while shooting this video?
Here we go again...
I find myself here in the video :3
新宿最高www
1人で千葉散策のために一度だけ新宿駅を利用したが、人がめっちゃ多いww
Hiiii
In fact, half of them are lost.
It doesn't seem as busy as people make it sound. Very similar to how things are in London. I guess this is not rush hour?
It was not during rush hours indeed. I won't be able to compare against London, but it could be quite wild at a time here.
Is a train ticket cheap in Japan. I wanna know !!!
Tsukuru Tazaki brought me here.
what did you shoot this with?? beautifully done...looks good on my 4K tv
Check the show more section ;-)
Marnouchi Line Subway How To Get It To JR Lines
May I ask how did you manage to get such a smooth motion? It doesn't look handheld at all.
We are using Gimbals and learned how to walk with Gimbals. Good luck ;-)
@@TokyoStreetView Thanks for replying! :)
how to walk from Odakyu Sightseeing center to Lumine 2?.. thanks~
is it a good idea to book a hotel near the station??
i guess trains to osaka and disneyland departe from this station??
Trains/Metro in Japan are really great and can allow you to go anywhere, so no need to find a hotel rear that station, shop around.

What happens to this place during earthquakes?
This place had withstand multiple earthquakes. So people would perhaps just be laughing at the earthquake if ever another one comes.

Guessing those yellow line must lead to something special????? LOL
Andrew Silva The yellow thing is for blind people.
They are for the blind. They lead to special elevators. These can be found all over East Asia and Singapore.
