Just finished reading and it made me a Nike fan all over again. It shows you how to build a business and how fragile a business can be for much of its start up
Unbelievable. My gramps said this guy was his track coach . And was like yah I had one of the first pair of nike, if only if I had kept those shoes. Could of probably been worth something. And said Kevin loves dad was on the team too
My coach’s biggest regret is not investing in Nike stock back then. He had heard the talk on the streets about it but adidas was such a big powerhouse he paid no mind to Nike (names blue ribbon sports at the time).
This days most of the high school and college distances coaches don't have passion for the sport they only do it for the money . Bill bowerman is an example of a great coach.
You know where this documentary was aired on?? This is good information and I want to use it for my source when I present my speech on Thursday on Bill Bowerman.
I have 3 pair of Bowerman crafted shoes that predate Nike. One pair was worn by Harry Jerome in the 64 olympics. These shoes will be on sale in the very near future
🙏Thank the Lord for the creative vison of Bill Bowerman, Phil Knight in building Blue Ribbon incorporations which was renamed Nike and Marion Franklin Rudy for creating the airpockets for athletic shoe wear, Tinker Hatfield for his creativity in designing the famous Air Max brand and 3-15 Jordan brand
great story just wish it talked a little more about how he started nike and developed his first shoe in his house with his wifes waffle iron but great story and video
What’s the real history ? I would like to know if he had a racist mental illness ? Black culture made Nike popular so I’m wondering 💭 if this comment gets deleted I’m never buying Nike again.
He was a business man distributing a Japanese sneaker until he adapted the product concepts into an American made product. Thanks for bringing us great shoes, but lets not make him into something he wasn't.
Matthew Hixson I'm sorry, but did you miss the first 9 minutes of this video? Or did you just skip to the part about Nike? He was one of the best coaches ever, and accomplished more in his lifetime than most humans ever will. He wasn't a "businessman" He didn't care about business at all actually, you ought to read his biography. He was a creator, he wanted to contribute to the advancement of sport, and he did it better than anyone else that I know of.
Fuck you. You know nothing about Bowerman. Every word in the video holds truth. He indeed was some sort of a superhuman. Do some research before you post something like this.
Recommendation: Buy and read Phil Knight's Memoir: "Shoe Dog" - highly recommended
Gran libro. En español se llama: Nunca te rindas de Phlill Knight
Agree with you!

I think nike should reair this some how. I love it. I've been thinking why doesn't nike make a small film on how it has grown to the staple it is now.
