- Nike is the largest athletic shoe and apparel company on the planet, with sales topping $30 billion last year. It's been over 50 years since co-founder Phil Knight gave birth to the brainchild that's grown into a sporting goods empire. Now he's stepping down from the Chairman role, and has documented his steps along the way in new book called "Shoe Dog." Lee Cowan profiles the man behind the Nike swoosh.
If you haven't read Phil's memoir Shoe Dog, defiantly check it out. Reading every chapter always makes me feel as if Nike wasn't going to make it. But Phil lives by the company philosophy of Just Do it. Incredible life.
Chirag Patel best book I’ve ever read hands down. I legit was sad when I finished because I felt the Journey was over
*definitely
My feelings.of optimism while reading may be in part because im l8ving in the present and know the outcome. But there is a sense of destiny i detect while reading. That Mr. Knight knew his calling. He chased and pursued it. And ive seen so often that the pursuit, the struggle, the adversity, is the road... is the way.

Thank you for your generosity! Mr. Knight. Your legacy won't be forgotten.
Just read the book, fascinating stuff on how to build a company in your own vision.

Phil Knight is always is all-black
Bowerman and Prefontaine started it, but Knight picked it up and ran with it.
David Ramirez no knight started it and asked bowerman to partner
Nope. Bowerman started it. Knight turned it into a business.
David Ramirez knight wrote a biz plan on importing Japanese running shoes his senior year, asked his dad for the money before bowerman even knew of the idea, and knight partnered with bowerman for the money.
David Ramirez read Shoe Dog, by Phil Knight. Bowerman partnered later.
