A tremendous video....my first two flights as a child were on an American Airlines DC-6 and a Delta Air Lines Constellation, both back in the 1950's. It's wonderful to look back at all these grand 'ole birds....those prop sounds continue to resonate with me today as they did way back when, as a little kid, I'd go to bed hearing them pass over our house at night. Their rumbling roar would easily put me to sleep! Thanks for posting!
Looking at the avro Lancaster airplane which is a bomber of WW2 brings to many of the british a lot of tears and yet joy in what was a hell of a bomber.
I think I know the main reason these are so much more compelling and interesting than jets: you can actually SEE the propulsion mechanism, while with jets it is hidden inside a metal tube, unseen.
8:03 The Connie. I wonder Wonder What happened to Connie Happened at Manila Airport. she's a Beauty. Someone from the Airport Authorities told me it's Being sold for Scrap Because of the Head of the Authority. His A Pilot But no Love for old Birds.
Stupid guy on the loud speaker ruined the wonderful sound of those BIG radial engines flying past. Who cares what he has to say I'm sure the crowd would have much preferred just the sound of the airplanes flying past.

Love these old birds!
They have a charm no jet will ever own.

FLEW IN LEBOMBO MANY TIMES BETWEEN CAPE TOWN AND ALEXANDER BAY JUST SOUTH OF THE ORANGE RIVER. WHAT A MEMORY SEEING THIS CRAFT FLYING AGAIN.

How graceful and with ease that beauty plies her trade, a true Lady,
Lebombo!

Sorry but the PA music on top of radial engines is dismaying.
I understand the videographer / poster has but limited control over that.
Does the commentator ever shut up with his in inanities so we can hear the music of the radials.
Did not see one complete takeoff or landing. What a waste of bandwidth!
