Hey Jeff, I just watch your video and followed your instructions for the ScreenMend window repair kit. It worked wonders. It took a total of 2 minutes. You're right about the stickiness as soon as you stop. My wife is very happy with my work. You get the credit for this one. From Toronto, Canada, Merci! Denis Roy
Hi Jeff! Glad I found ur review, while looking at other full screen replacement videos. I have a sliding screen door that needs patching around the handle-fingernails have punctured it over time. I think the handle design fostered the punctures, though. There’s not much of a handle to grasp while opening/closing the door. I think I’m gonna try it and let you know how it works. Thanks for your review!
Screen mend is pretty convenient...especially in the application you referenced...a little extra support is a good thing. Let me know how it goes and thanks for taking the time to comment.
Hi, Jeff. I think that the product is pretty cool, especially if you need a quick fix and don't wish to spend money on new screens. The patch is obvious, but the price and the convenience make up for that. Thanks for the review...
Are you supposed to attach it from the "inside out" or "outside in?" i.e. Should the "adhesive side" be facing out towards the outside environment, or facing in towards the inside of house? thanks!
@@Jeffreviews4u Inside is easiest for me. Thanks. So is it like a "heat shrink" effect? Almost like melting itself onto the screen? Or just being held on by it's stickiness?
Considering I use Duck tape to patch holes in my screens, matching color of course, then obviously I don't mind if it's noticable, but it's better than having a house full of bugs, this stuff is like a luxury item 😄,thx for the video, didn't even know this was a thing...
This worked well on a HUGE hole I had in a screen door. It was big enough for my black cat to escape through at 2 am this morning. 🐈⬛ I found it at Wal-Mart in the seasonal hardware section next to the plastic window coverings for $7 and change.
Good video. Just used it, it worked well. Looks like a patched screen although it doesn't pretend to be "invisible". Better then using the glue goop I used to use that looked far worse. So, yes it worked well.
It worked perfectly for me. On one of my window screens it peeled off after five years of installation but I have a feeling my daughter might have done that 😏 🤦♀️ h/e on my other window screen it still sitting on it nice and strong
Hi Jeff, I have a patio screen where the screen is only slightly torn from the spline ( about 5 inches ). I'm going to give it a try since your video showed that the patch will melt over the spline edge too and not just in the screen area. Since it works with some adhesive , I wonder how it will hold up if the sun is baking on it. Thanks ! I think this cheap quick fix is very useful since buying a new screen ( is expensive ) and installing it is much more difficult for first timers. Of course, if the screen repair is large then a new screen is in order.
Hey Jeff great video! I have tons of holes in my window nets so this looks like a great quick fix instead of replacing the whole thing. It's kind of noticeable but the charcoal grey seems to be the perfect color.
I thought it was very noticeable as well but I'd rather the bugs stay outside instead of crawling through that hole. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Be sure to clean the main screen with some alcohol first for best adhesion. Use fingernail polish remover to remove some of the color of the repair tape so it matches your main screen better.
Jeff!? Have you reviewed this think that if you don’t have a screen but want one , you buy this big ass screen door that has Velcro split down the middle so you can go in and out? I’d be down with that. But idk how good it is
It's called magic mesh...I reviewed earlier versions. They now have larger ones for double doors and garage doors. Here is my original review: ua-cam.com/video/tUwCR22A6A8/v-deo.html
My giant dog just leaned up against a screen in the gazebo and it ripped perfectly straight along two sides where attaches to the frame. If I get 1/4-Round, what kind of glue should I use?
I bought a pack at The Home Depot. Now that I've watched your review, I won't be using it on our front storm door screen. Although I can see it works, it's too visible!
It can be quite the eyesore, if you can replace the screen that's probably the best bet. That being said the patch is still holding up months later. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
That's pretty cool. I have a rip in the back screen door that I might try it on. A front screen I may not use it since its seen more. Back door its not going to bother me at all!
I'm actually going to cut it as small as possible and see if it will still adhere and stick. If you look at the hole itself, it looks almost seemless. I don't know if it will work since I'm going against their recommendations but I want to try it. 🤔
MY problem is this: I have a Chevy Colorado. The mice get under the cowl and build nest on the wire screen over the heater core entrance. I usually remove the cowl and wipers and inside remove the heater blower. Then I blow air upwrds at bottom of screen and blow out nest towards the motor. It works. I usually say to myself, that was not too bad of a job because the screen kept the vermin from reaching the heater core. Today, I was wrong. They built a nest and ate a good size hole in the screen and advanced their army into the heater core...... I dont know if this product will work. I cant hold it up and use hairdryer because not enough space for both,.. I think. If this product does work. I still may have to buy a fiberoptic endoscope to view what kind of infiltration lies at the heater core. I hate mice.
I wonder if they make a metal mesh screen that will stop the mice? I heard about a product called mouse-x that is supposed to humanely dispatch the mouse...maybe putting some in the engine bay will help the problem. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Hey Jeff!! Have u seen the product go crystal I think it’s called. You attach it to the garden hose to clean windows up to 200 feet 🤔🤔😂😂 it said siding too. You should test it for us 😂😂😂
I get that. I'll probably end up replacing the screen or door altogether. That being said the patch is convenient. Thanks for stopping by and commenting
Jeff Reviews4u the tear was in a difficult area, but maybe using a smaller piece might make it less obvious. Because that one is glued on now. Does it stay on even if it gets wet?
Dude.. you babble WAY too much. This video could have lasted only 2 minutes MAX instead of 10. You could have started at 1:54 to 2:12, cut the head shot at 3:09 to 3:27, and during the "perfect time to hit the (thumbs up), I hit the thumbs down. I hate when presenters beg for a like. Video wasn't over yet to make a fair evaluation, but I had already decided it was really poor. Another useless head shot at 5:20, and should have ended at 6:08. Who cares about the package that was delivered, and if you're not going to tell us what it is, why mention it? YOU didn't know what was delivered yourself. 7:40, nearly 2 1/2 minutes of total BS. No rap intended man, but the critique comes from a 30 year, 2 time Emmy winning producer/editor only to help.

Works great! Took about 3 minutes to fix.
Great review! I wouldn't mind how it looks with the screen mend on, as long as the skeeters can't get in.
I like that the hole is completely covered! Thanks for checking it out.

My thoughts are to put it on the way it's easiest for you. Inside or outside shouldn't matter.

how do you fix tears or cuts in screens? will this product work on that?

I'm a fan of gorilla glue and flex glue they both have a construction version in clear and white.

Hi man. I think we need to see its endurance, if it holds tight against water and wind, it’s totally cool.
I will be doing an updated video in a month or so on a few products - I'll be sure to include this one. Thanks!
Any updates?
Just ordered from Amazon to temporarily fix holes in my screens. 🤞
My temporary patch was there over a year before I had the door replaced...got the job done! Let me know what you think when you get it.

Yes, it’s noticeable and it would bother me. But the little details get my attention
That's pretty cool man. I remember buying some of those vacuum seal bags years ago I wonder if the new ones are better?
my experience with the bags....as long as you really get them sealed they will work pretty well. I just wish I had more!
you're fusing the product to an existing screen, how long will that bond last?
The one I brought from Wal☆m does not say to use a blow dryer! I will try your way 💪🏿
